Question of the Week: 99 - 2/16/2003 What Moon Phase Are You In? Consider the phases of the moon: Waxing (strengthening, enlarging, increasing), Full (powerful, energetic, extroverted, public), Waning (banishing, forgetting, diminishing, retreating), New (hidden, secret, introverted) and Once in A Blue (unexpected, outside the norm, quirky, special). Which such ‘phase’ is your life, emotional state or spiritual growth in right now? Do you consider and/or utilize the moon phases in your spell work or rituals? How so? |

I feel like I've been stuck in this phase for awhile and hopefully I'll be waxing soon. I need more introspection to figure it out before I'll grow tho. I just want to stay hidden and quiet for awhile. |

Hidden, secret, introverted. Yes, that's usually me. Mostly in contacts with people I don't know. But there is a Grand Weel of Nature and as it turns everyting changes. Hopefully the time of my own change will come. The New Moon also represents my spiritual path, becouse I'm just a beginner, so now I mostly collect knowledge, learn and keep my thoughts for myself. Maybe it is a good advice to use the phases of the Moon in rituals, becouse it alwats had a geat influence on life on Earth, from biological life to science. I suppose that a New Moon is quite good representative for this hidden power. |

I feel that I am in a New Moon Phase in my life. Things in life are not great at the moment, and yet, thanks to being a Witch, my relationship with my husband is great and I feel immensely positive about life in general. I feel that things are quite secretive for me though, as I have only 1 year's experience of Wicca and so everything is quite low key - my husband and best friend know of my studies, but as yet, these are the only people I feel ready to confide my beliefs in. So, for me, everything is changing, slowly but surely, hopefully towards a happy, knowledgable and peaceful future. But I have some growing to do to get there! |

Because I am a brand new Witch I feel I am in a waxing moon phase. I feel myself becoming stronger and more developed each day. I'm not worried about what others will think, I'm ready to face the world with my new, Witchy, Self. |

I am definately in Blue Moon phase...All The Qualities listed for it, pertain to me...I am an Aquarius so that explains a lot...LOL... But only for this I say these things because I am definately not full of myself in no way...Just making an observation, and sharing with others some of my personalities... I would say that I'm at a Full Moon stage of my life. I have more friends than ever before, a wonderful boyfriend, and lots of opportunities to learn and grow. Life isn't perfect, but it suits me fine. Moon phases are important to me when I consider how to word my spells. Say I'm working towards getting scholarship money. If I worked my spell during a waxing moon, I would work towards gaining prosperity. If I worked my spell during a waning moon, I would work towards banishing my money problems. I like to align my spells to what's going on the astrological while keeping the same intent. |

Part of me feels like I am in the waxing moon phase.I'm still young, about 23..But I feel so old sometimes, like I have wasted a good sized chunk of my life. I lost my last job at the end of december, and for awhile was practically contemplating hara-kiri. But on the other hand, I'm giving serious thought to applying to our local art college, and eventually becoming self employed. Here's where the other part comes in- I guess I'm also a blue moon individual- I have always been the "weirdo", the "freak", the "Outcast. At least in the eyes of my sheeple classmates and peers. I never followed the crowd in appearance, thought, opinion, or deed. And I never saw the point of doing so. Being myself was so much easier, and alot more fun. Even now, I feel that self employment may ultimately be the only way to go- I am too fiercely independant to put up with the power tripping, looming over the shoulder antics of a great many bosses. I don't care who you are, or what your title is, you DO NOT have the right to insult my dignity or intelligence, and I am not one of those people who just meekly takes that sort of abuse. So needless to say, a career in the corporate world, with its inherant comformist attitudes is not ever going to work for me. As much as I love skyscrapers, I know that I was not made to run with the ranks of their tenants. Which leaves me wondering if I will ever be financially solvent and successful? |

Definitely early waxing Moon. :) Astrologically, the Moon just left my 12th house a few months ago and has now entered my 1st house, where it'll stay for the next three or so years. 12th house time is time for introspection, turning inward, contemplation, letting go of the old, preparing the ground for what's to come. 1st house time is time for action, for coming out into the world, for manifesting. IT's not easy for me; introspection and navel-gazing are more my speed, but it's now necessary for me to take steps out into the world, in a lot of ways -- as a Pagan, as a writer, as an activist. If not now, when? |

I know I have recently left a waning moon phase. There's also the post-2nd degree silence. I feel calm, as though it is night, but at the same time, I feel gathering strength. I don't do much spellwork, but when I do I always think about the moon phase, at least. However, it's been pretty much a case of performing spells when they're needed, no matter what the moon phase. I suppose you could say that it determines the type of spell rather than whether or not to perform one. Having said this, one of my trainees has requested full moon dates for training, so I am able to do something on full moon again. :-) Bright Blessings (and thank you Wren for a cool question!) , Amy |

...if you so insist. I cannot but say that I am in something of an eclipse. I am on the cusp of the full moon, tending towards the waning. I feel as if I have the power of the full moon, but I am in a crisis of my life, with my marriage on very rocky ground (the whole diminishing aspect) . Also I am hidden from most people, even partly myself I think. But the only way to incorporate all of that into one coherent picture is to say I am in an eclipse of the just waning full moon. ;) Blessings, Gaia |

right now i suppose that i would be waxing. like the seasons, i am sort of in a transition between winter and spring. i don't know about what it's like where any of you live, but where i live it's snowing, a lot, and it has been all day. i have all this extra energy from winter, and i'm almost bursting from it! and as long as this weather stays cold, my energy will keep on increasing. hope for warmer weather!!! |

I would want to be the Ghost of Yule Future because i thought the whole death guy was rather cool...Death has always mezmorized me (i fear it not but rather embrase it) . death is a mysterious thing that most people cannot comprehend to the extent it should be. Who would i "haunt"...i would haunt someone famous...just to show them that in the end, famous people end up in the same place as everyone else so they shouldn't let fame get to their heads...hehehehe...and i want to be famous one day..lol...well i suppose that is all...buh bye |
