Question of the Week: 106 - 4/13/2003

What Is Your Inner Animal?

Do you tend to ‘bark’ at people? Howl at the Moon perhaps? Do you have catlike reflexes or can your psychic ‘whiskers’ pick up nearby energy vibrations? Do you have a ‘nest’ or like to ‘burrow’ under the covers? Do you actually even growl sometimes?

What animal traits do you think that you sometimes exhibit? Has anyone ever told you that you remind him/her of some animal?

How much of an animal nature do you think that we humans might retain? Should we attempt to completely conquer or tame the ‘animal’ within? Or do you consider your inner animal to be an ally or alter-ego?

What is the name of your inner animal? If you share space with an actual animal, does the animal (or animals) consider you ‘one of them’? Can you and your animal friends communicate in mysterious ways?

Shy And Quiet As A Mouse Apr 14th. at 11:59:23 pm UTC

I think I am a mouse because I am very causious of what I do and or say. I always walk lightly and I am barly ever seen. I am shy and soft spoken and very small with very well groomed hair.

Snake Apr 15th. at 12:15:46 am UTC

Gehrig (Southern California) Age: 17 - Email

More often than not folk think negatively of snakes, but I would discourage this. Pesonally I've always had an affinity and a talent for anf with them. Then in a meditation to find my "Younger Self's" animal form I came across a huge black snake with a green tint to the black scales.
Truth be told I hiss and bask, wrap and cling, and I am alot more in touch with my more primitive senses of smell and taste than most. But when inspecting the Chinese zodiacs traits for "snake signs" they all fit me rather well. For while a snake can be secretive, and mysterious it is also honest, while it can be passive and patient it is also a fearsome predator, and while it can be cold and calculating it can also be affectionate, sensual, and loving.
While I may be in touch with my own inner animal I do recommend that others out there who do not know of their own creatutre inside look inward to find it.

Good Luck
Blessed Be

Flying Free Apr 15th. at 2:19:02 am UTC

angel (California) Age: 13 - Email

If I were to have an inner animal, I'm sure it has to be a bird. I've always been fascinated by birds, always. I love to stop while I'm walking down the street and admire the crows flying or walking around. In books I always point out the birds before anything else. They inspire me to write/draw, as well as making me want to actually do something. I admire their beauty, and their freedom. They have powerful wings which can take them anywhere they want to go, and when I was a little kid, I used to dream about flying like the birds. Now I'm thinking that when I get a little older, I want to travel, to visit evrery country I can. I also find myself acting like the birds. Kind of shy, an outcast from others, beautiful and free, yet loud and annoying at times.

Unusual? Apr 15th. at 10:35:54 am UTC

Austere Peasant (Canada) Age: 20 - Email

Well, I'm not certain - but I believe that my inner animal is a Zebra. I've never actually encountered one, but I love running free, love making stripe art, and have been known to bleet like a Zebra. I didn't find out I bleeted like a Zebra - or even that Zebras BLEETED until about a year ago, but have been bleeting in that manner for much longer.

What Else Could I Be? Apr 15th. at 10:40:28 am UTC

WaterDragun™ (Southern Illinois) Age: 134 - Email - Web

I am a dragon. Snarly and gnarly and very protective of what I consider mine. I tend to stomp into a room and generally frighten strangers. (looks innocent) When angered, many have compared my controlled rage with breathing fire on a poor soul.
Conversely, when I care for a thing, I will protect it to the death if necessary.

The Animal Inside Me Apr 15th. at 1:07:21 pm UTC

Drewsilla (woodstock) Age: 14 - Email

I cannot define what I am as an animal. Though I mostly identify with cats.
It must be a past life expirence or a sixth sence that makes me so famillar with them.
Cats that wont even let their owners touch them wrap around my legs, and the meanest purr when get close to them
If I got the chance to be an animal I would be a leopard, but right now I am not that inside.

Im going back to my corner now.

Definately BEAR Apr 15th. at 4:00:41 pm UTC

Starwalker (down east, nc) Age: 54 - Email

thought astrologically I am a bull... wonder if that has anything to do with my love/hate relationship to money? LOL

Seriously, I had never thought about it until a friend commented on the way I made my way through the woods, and the wrapped my arms around a section of telephone pole protruding from the ground (had been a foundation post for a cabin porch) and just LIFTED, hoisting it up out of the ground in one motion. And the lightbulb went off in my skull.. with the realization that indeed, it FELT very bearlike. And since I am FROM the North, and OF the North and identify with Earth as well, tend to hybernate in the winter... and considering the way I protected my 5 "cubs"... guess if the hide fits...

I Believe I Am A Cat Apr 15th. at 4:34:22 pm UTC

Arianna (Clarksville TN) Age: 24 - Email

My husband had mentioned that my mannerisms are that of a cat. I can sense vibrations from people houses, cars etc. My movements are that of a cat as well. I turn my head like one when I hear something or the way I move away from water. I refuse to swim in a pool it scares me.
I always thought I was a cat in my past life which probably means I did something really bad to be as a cat. That is what I was told though but do not believe it.

Bightest Blessings

My Inner Animalis... Apr 15th. at 8:06:00 pm UTC

Moonfire (Western Massachusetts) Age: 42 - Email

A Wolf! Ever since I was little I always felt that I shared a certain kinship with canines and wolves in particular. I was always drawn to the wolves at the zoo.
My spirit guide is a wolf, it was he that gave me the name "Moonfire." I believe that everyone has an animal side to their nature and that it should be controlled and respected but not tamed. The wild is part of our nature as well as the animals (real and spirit alike) . I would think that taming something that was not meant to be tamed would only throw our spiritual balance off kilter.
Some of my friends have commented on certain actions I have, like lifting my head up to smell the ozone in the air before a storm. Or taking two or three stairs at a time with what they discribe as a "loping gate" Also, when I'm angry I have the tendancy to roll my "r's" and it sounds like I'm growling.
And yes, my favorite movie is "The Wolfman" with Lon Chaney, Jr.
:)
