Question of the Week: 40 - 5/7/2001 What is Your Guilty Little Secret? Fess Up! What are you hiding? Do you watch 'Survivor'? Do you even watch reruns of the ORIGINAL 'Survivor'? Still have your Barbie dolls-and still change their outfits once in a while? Collect stamps? Think David Cassidy of The Partridge Family is still the babe of the century? Tell everyone that you 'never really watch television', but you're really clocking in some impressive miles with the remote control every week? Hate Celtic music (gasp!) Have a crush on someone? Don't recycle your plastics? This is your chance to come clean and tell all. (In the interest of fair disclosure: Fritz has the DNA of a sugar ant. He has to have his bowl of ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie chaser every night and he only eats a vegetable about three times a year-and then only if it can be dipped in melted butter. Wren liked Duran Duran before it was cool to like Duran Duran. Of course, it has NEVER been cool to like Duran Duran, so this is a really brave confession on her part. There goes another carefully crafted reputation down the sacred well....) |

You have GOT to be kidding me. We're posting to TWV and you ask what our "dirty little secret" is?! I'm deeper in the broom closet than most brooms. But, in the spirit of things...in certain moods I like ABBA, romance novels, and *Dark Angel* (just to see Michael Weatherby? nah!), cheese steaks a couple of times a year, and Star Trek (TOS or TNG for choice.) And.. if you want to know, I have a real distaste for crystals, fairies, gnomes, poetry rhyming "love" with "dove" or "above", and the assumption that all pagans have psychic abilities and that our magic affects anyone but ourselves. I guess that makes my real dirty secret the fact that bitchery and snobbery aren't exactly foreign to my nature...if you call that a secret. Tar me and feather me and cast me from the coven. |

I love this question, something light and fun for a change (well sort of). I have a few, well let's make that many secrets, do I feel guilty about them...nope! O.K. here goes, I'm 34 and still afraid of the dark I have to sleep with nightlites all over my house. I still run and jump into bed so the alligators under it don't nip at my ankles and the closet door absolutely must be closed in order to keep the boogey man inside. (There was A LOT of poltergeist activity in my home as a child, what a surprise). I would rather eat with my hands than a fork and knife, which works well at Ren faires. For obvious reasons I do not like to eat in front of other people. I do not have any patience with children or ignorant adults, there I said it! I have an extremely addictive personality and have had problems with illegal drugs at various times in my life, however I absolutely refuse to take anything a doctor prescribes to me. If I could I would wear a different period costume every day, Renaissance wench on Monday, Goth chick on Tuesday, Dickens on Wednesday, etc. I would dress like this to go to work, the store, where ever. O.K. that's enough, can't let out all my secrets or there wouldn't be any room left for other people to list their's. |

Okay, if you must know and since your twisting my arm. 1. I watch Survivor and I'm not ashamed. 2. I watch Bootcamp and I like it. 3. I don't really like cats, I prefer my rabbit, her name is Ostara. 4. I'm a closet Republican and I find Pagans that question that annoying. 5. I've passed gas and blamed it on children and this I'm more ashamed of than any of the rest. |

ok....couldn't pass this one up:) Dirty secrets..hhmm well other than things my mate knows..here goes: Again...Wren..I to am a Duran Duran fan....*sigh* it is so bad that when I am listening to it in the truck with my mate we ..er I mean *I* (shouldn't *out* him too, lol) blast it and sing along loudly, and at every stop sign or stop light I turn it down so that no one with their windows open or pedestrians on the street will hear it. Yes, sad but true. BUT! I think there are WAY more Duran Duran fans out there than we know. I also talk to *everything* a few people have caught me doing this and think I am totally insane. But they listen I tell ya! and they don't talk back:) I hold HUGE grudges against anyone I catch killing bugs, and am so stubborn I won't ever forgive them. I LOVE mens feet...*pant-drool* don't ask me why..but the uglier the better. I CAN'T and won't cut my toenails..eewww! I am superstitious to some things, but will not admit it to any and if I am called on it I will break a *rule* just to prove them wrong and then try to spend the next .... -forever, - trying to right my wrong. And the most recent thing I can think of..I stole a 11 year olds balloon because he kept letting it go and it kept flying into my space and hitting me, making that awful squealing noise, so when he asked if I knew where it was I said "nope". Yes I am terrible *EG* *Skye crawls back under her rock* BB! |

Being a fan of Duran Duran is normal (I love the group) compared to singing Karaoke! Not only that, I sing Go-Go's songs! What self-respecting witch would do such a gastly thing? I am such a karaoke nut thatI went to a show 2 hours after my graduation from Purdue University! Now, that is a confession. |

Okay folks, this will appear sick, but I love munching on the frozen tater-tots or french fries when I'm preparing dinner for my family. In fact, I love most foods totally frozen. But hate meat of any kind, unless of course we talking "tube steak boogy". I truly love the movie "Sound of Music" and sing out really loud along with it. My husband and son really hate this; in fact they refuse to let me buy the movie, if I could ever find it, that is. But my other TRULY favorite movie is also Bram Stoker's Dracula. I think thats THE best love story ever told. Talk about complete opposites on any scale. In my mind I look like "Augra" from the movie "Dark Crystal", if anyone remembers that movie. I love to create costumes, and am dying to re-create the costume of SHREK for my husband. That would be a hoot! Love to attend Ren faires, and usually work as a Beer Wench. Hazaa! I work in the Aviation field, and I'm really afraid to fly...you would too after hearing some of this stuff after a staff meeting. I think that's enough. I may have broken the "really strange" category by now. But I do have to say that reading everyone elses "secrets" is very helpful, and I truly appreciate and adore what Fritz & Wren do for our Pagen community. I cound't stand a Monday morning with my Witches Voice fix. Thank you both Fritz, Wren and gang for all that you do. Blessed Be! |

All right, I admit it...I'm a Pagan and I'm afraid of animals any bigger than a cat (dogs on up) or smaller than a dragonfly. I can't stop myself from killing threatening insects. I know I shouldn't, but you know, it's hard to shake old habits (and deal with removing from the premises things too icky to touch). Just more of a plant person, I guess... Oh, and I love Duran Duran, and Dark Angel, Charmed, and Highlander. And I suck my thumb. And I taught my daughter to think the suited men speaking at the BYU devotionals on KBYU (PBS) are "bad, lying men" *blush* And I have not yet read Tolkien. *ducks* (*gasp* "and she calls herself a fan of the fantasy genre!") |

Hmm. Guilty little secrets. Being a Taurus with Scorpio rising, I LOVE my guilty secrets and would never give them up for anything. I adore unbaked chocolate chip cookie dough, and have been known to eat it for dinner. I have been known to sing along with show tunes (occasionally in public). I read romance novels, specifically of the "time travel" and "pirate" genres. I am a Libertarian, but am a closet bleeding-heart and a guerrilla recycler (OK, maybe not a guilty secret for some, but I live in Georgia with a conservative partner). I have (and have had for two years) a GIANT crush on a member of our local pagan community, who shall remain nameless here (mwaaa haaa haaa). I love 70s music and often sing along with it in the car ("Stairway to Heaven" anyone?) even though I was, back in the day, a punk rocker. |

Oh dear...I have a few too many "dirty little secrets" for someone of my age. Probably the one that hits the top of the list is that I am a fan of the band Hanson. Yes. I am. Actually for the most part that is no secret at all, but I just figured I'd confess that on this end of my life now. Actually I don't understand WHY that has to be a "dirty little secret" I mean, it is good music...but anyway...I'm rambling about that one. The next one would have to be that I watch Charmed every week without fail and tape it if I'm gonna miss it 'cos I LOVE that show. From the Pagan aspect its mostly BS, but its good fiction and "Leo" is a cutie (two guilty secrets for the price of one, there!). As for the more obscure things, I am fascinated by rocks and have collected rocks since I was a very small child, I enjoy tracking hurricanes and other large violent weather systems and spent a whole summer doing it once but I no longer have the time, I like M&Ms on cheese pizza, I'm a concert addict (I will go to just about any rock concert that I can get to and afford whether I've heard of the band(s) or not), I'm an internet junkie and average about 6 hours online a day, I actually enjoy math for the most part, and cannot function without access twinkies, Dr. Pepper, Chex Mix, chinese takeaway and music. |

Dirty secrets....hmmmm..... Wren, you are not alone. I like Duran Duran and 80s New Wave music, even though my first musical love will always be heavy metal, which is a dirty little secret in itself. (Have you listened to the new Fear Factory? Awesome stuff!) I also live for Tuesday nights, when I can watch my favorite TV shows, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel". Broccoli is my favorite vegetable. I can eat it even without cheese sauce! I could eat broccoli every day if I could get away with it. And my main dirty little secret? I am madly and passionately in love with Keanu Reeves. Have been since the first "Bill & Ted" movie. I truly believe there is something very deep and substantial behind the vapid facade. Please don't hate me.....(giggles) |

I have a few guilty little secrets. First I like to play fantasy role playing games on the computer. I am very frightened of spiders and if they happen to get to near me i have my roommate kill them for me. I make fun of the non thinking mormons *sorry to all*. I secretly find women attractive (i am one). I love fantasy but can't stand Tolkien *sorry to all the fans out there*. Those are the big ones right now. |
