Question of the Week: 14 - 11/6/2000

The Unresolved US Election

Did YOU vote? Which candidate did you vote for? How do you feel about the political wrangling going on right now in Florida? Will/Should either candidate concede for the good of the country-or should either/both fight it out until we all scream for mercy? How do you think either candidate, if declared the winner, will be able to bring the country together given the inference that the election results now point to an America that is almost equally divided into one camp or the other? And the BIG question-What, if any, impact will the final results have on the Pagan communities?

I didn't vote. Why? Because upon reflection of all the candidates presented to us I got a cold lump in my stomach. It's just plain scary to me the candidates we've been given to choose from.

I didn't vote. I live in the Netherlands (Holland) and I have not yet found out how to cast an absentee vote. I don't know if this thread is really still running but I'd thought I'd mention this. It is an good example of how the rest of the world sees the election. It is a advertisement for For Him Magazine. It shows two cut-outs of Bush and Gore both pissing on the white house lawn. Need I say more? -Jessica

| I Voted For The Libertarian Candidate Harry Brown Because I Feel That... | Nov 30th. at 5:59:40 am EST |

I voted for the libertarian candidate Harry Brown because I feel that the war on drugs should be ended if we are to preserve the Constitution of the USA and the Bill Of Rights. I think that Gore is right and all the ballots should be counted befor a winner can be announced. We cannot just count some ballots and then say , oh well, thats good enough, just because it seems convieniant. If all the ballots are counted and Gore loses then fair enow. If Bush wins that is bad news for us Pagans I think. He is a bigoted right wing fundamentalist Christian and in my book that spells: the enemy! Praise Goddess!

| I Have Voted In Every Election Since I Was 18... It's One... | Nov 30th. at 6:23:20 pm EST |

I have voted in every election since I was 18... It's one of the few things I get for my tax money. I voted for Bush even though I am not a republican. The abuses of office which have gone on in the white house during the last (current) administration is a disgrace, and can not be allowed to continue.
I have seen many responses regarding Bush's view on witchcraft. What many do not realize is that the president, regardless of his personal views, can not take away freedom of religion. In the court's, ruling after ruling have supported the rights of pagans, regardless of how many times the christian right have attempted to change this. Each ruling provides another precedent making their battle more difficult, and more firmly establishing our rights.
