Question of the Week: 99 - 2/16/2003 What Moon Phase Are You In? Consider the phases of the moon: Waxing (strengthening, enlarging, increasing), Full (powerful, energetic, extroverted, public), Waning (banishing, forgetting, diminishing, retreating), New (hidden, secret, introverted) and Once in A Blue (unexpected, outside the norm, quirky, special). Which such ‘phase’ is your life, emotional state or spiritual growth in right now? Do you consider and/or utilize the moon phases in your spell work or rituals? How so? |

Having practiced Wicca for fourteen years, there has been a spiritual graduation of sorts as I have redefined my practices while still remaining true to the teachings I was raised with. Rather than limiting myself to just one particular god/dess, I have found that as I grow and change, so do the gods that I need to work with. Thus, recently, I opened myself up to the Divine, as It chooses to reveal itself to me. I liken the divine to a tree. The trunk is the Divine, nameless, genderless, then the branches are the extensions of the Divine, each a god or goddess, separate, yet a part of the whole. |

Personally, if I had to choose a moon I would be a New waxing Blue Moon On the Fall ( . Oh heck I would be all of them exept Full. Why, becuase most of the time I keep to myself and once in a while I'll do somthing strange, just to keep people guessing, but 9 times out of 10 I forget what i'm doing. I dont know you decide :) |

i am definitely a new moon. i'm very introverted and secretive. but i guess that i could also be a once in a blue moon. people see me as strange, or outside the norm. i usually use moon phases to coincide with a ritual or spell i'm working on. i usually look for days of power and their specific meaning. |

With getting better in Karate, getting my studies turned in on time, and staying on top of things at work better than i had been I'd say waxing, could be better and is getting better. I'm happier than I've been. I try to consider how the moon's phase is as I go through my months, and remember when things are going rough "It's waning" things like that. |

I feel like the phase of the moon that most fits me at this time is the Waxing Moon. I hope to soon get to a place in my life where I can be compared to the Full Moon. |

i've always considered the new moon to be a time of gathering strength, of release and preparations to move forward. so in that sense, i feel that i am moving in to a new phase after a period of waning- romantic partnership falling apart, questioning about the path of that relationship, letting go of the negative energy built up in myself. now i'm readying to move forward, looking ahead to the waxing moon i know will come. i do really enjoy using moon phases in ritual work. following the moon phases was my first step in training my body to reconnect to the earth many years ago, and the waning, waxing, bright and dark moon energy is most important to me still. peace blessings to all. |

I am ending an abusive relationship and beginning my search for inner power fully now. He has tried to keep my religious befiefs under his control and in his religion, Catholisism. I am full of wonder and questions about life, love and how to now raise my two young children. I have only the waxing phase to wait for and to help me through this tough time by bringing me enlightenment. I plan to perform my first "real" ritual tonight. I am going to ask for strenght hope and protection from the Lord and the Lady. Blessed Be!!! |

I suppose I have a bit of all the moon phases which applies to me. The most dominant, however, happens to be the Waxing moon. I'm new in this carnate, being only recently 15 years young, I'm still learning the ways of the world. I'm still learning, and loving absolutely every moment of it. I'm still in my part of life that I'm gathering strength and knowledge to be used later on, I find it easy to put to use what I've learned so far, yet, I know theres still more to experience, know and do. So deffinately Waxing moon for me, I know a little, but I'm not quite full, just like I've got my foot planted firmly between the broomcloset door and the frame, all thats keeping me back is strength..whether it's intellectual strength, or emotional, I'm sure, wih time, the Full moon will be will be dominant in my personality, and I'll be out of the broom closet for good. |

I am new to the religion, I would have to say that my moon phase was waxing as I am learning about the religion in new ways and meeting people involved in the religion. I have yet to cast any spells but I do plan to coinside the casting with the moons phases |
