What are YOU Thankful For?
As we get together with family and friends at this time of the year (and at every time of the year), which people do you want to thank for making a meaningful difference in your life? (Why not surprise someone and thank him/her/them publicly right now and right here?) What lessons that came your way turned out to be blessings in disguise? How do you demonstrate your gratitude to the Earth and/or to your Gods/Ancestors for their continuing guidance and blessings?

| It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year For Some, But For... ||Nov 23rd. at 11:42:37 am UTC|
|Andromeda (Jennifer Paige) (Durham, North Carolina US) ||Age: 24 - Email |
It's the most wonderful time of the year for some, but for myself, it is Samhain, the time when I reflect on my life, my studies, myself and see the results of past resolutions, or their failures, and make amends.Ê Samhain is the Celtic new year, the time when the Lord dies (the Sun) and the world is dark until His re-birth in the Spring (Beltain).Ê It is a very introspective time for the witch, a continual time of emotional harvest, finding my crops and my fallows and acting accordingly. Ê This year, as in many years before, there are more fallows than crops.Ê I am going to change this.Ê Now, as with New Year's resolutions, these are promises made to self; these are promises often broken.Ê This year, this dawning of a new millenium, I am making a vow to self, a vow to change the stagnating patterns and free myself from chains which have bound my soul for five years time.Ê I have been inspired to hunt down my freedom, to seek out happiness, love, trust, faith.Ê These words are intangibles, and, therefore, my mind has thought them unattainable.Ê My heart and soul know better.Ê They have hungered, and now they will feast or perish. Ê I still have will enough to take on the challenge of the hunt, to make my life better.Ê With the vow I will bind it too myself, weld it to my soul with a fire hot enough to make metal liquid, re-shaping self in my image.Ê I need this.Ê So mote it be!
Each year I make a list of what I am thankful for, what things have set themselves apart in twelve months time in my mind and my heart's eye.Ê Here are a few of them.Ê
I am most thankful for:
The blessings the Goddess and God have chosen to bestow on me, my new eyes, my full heart, my search for knowledge
Snow diamonds, crystals of dry snow that blow through the air on the wind, glittering and shimmering in the sun
Leaves which do much the same thing in a shower of gold, russet, cadmium, and ruby
Friends who know just what to say and how to say it
Sharing food with those people
Giving time and energy to those people less fortunate, those who hunger so much that a simple bowl of soup is a feast
Children's eyes, how they light up when one lights up the Christmas tree
Moments of peace, proving that it is still possible
Family feeling the genuine gravity of their kin, not out of obligation, but out of want
Long distance telephone service
Passion, Inspiration, Love
Coming home to a warm house after work
Cats purring at your arrival, the purest instance of unconditional love...dogs do it too
Music, being able to make music
Being able to read, and understand, feeling an image, poetry, fiction, science, philosophy, religion--books
Creating images out of words, simple arrangements of letters that can communicate thought, love, wonderment, detail, hope
Complications, letting me know I am still alive
Breathing, seeing breath as a tangible entity on a frosty morning
Sunrise, sunset, stars, and other celestial phenomenon
Making connections with people, touchstones, illuminating dark recesses with love's light
Knowing someone inside and out, having someone who knows you that well
Counting blessings, and having enough to know that I could keep on counting
Have a blessed holiday.
| My Greatest Thanks Would Have To Go Out To My Closest Friend... ||Nov 23rd. at 4:08:04 pm UTC|
|Erika Christine (San Diego, California US) ||Age: 22 |
My greatest thanks would have to go out to my closest friend/ witch sister and her parents. They have been a sort of a second family to me, especially around this time of the year. My parents and I live on opposite sides of the country, and I can never make it to their place for Thanksgiving. So to my "surrogate" parents and sister, a great blessed THANK YOU.
To my other "sisters"- they are no farther away from my hearts. I feel the blessings of their friendship and our shared experiences everyday. Thank you all and bright blessings to them.
To my parents and brothers- growing up as a military family, they were the only blood ties that I have known most of my life. For them, my love and my grateful prayers. I miss you all!!
And finally, to the Gods and Goddesses that walk with my in my life- I feel your love and strength, in good times and in bad. One of the greatest joys that I have felt from them have been the early morning walks to work. Even though I have to get up before 5 in the morning to get to work by 6 a.m., once I walk out the door work is the farthest thing from my mind. At least four times a week I get to see the Mother waking up, get to see Her creatures and to recoginize the patterns of the stars and the moon. This early morning commune is indeed a beautiful gift in disguise.
Brightest blessings and greatest thanks to all for being in my life.
| I Am Thankful That I Am Alone This Thanksgiving. I Am Thankful... ||Nov 23rd. at 5:54:54 pm UTC|
|Lindsey M. C. F. (New York, New York US) ||Age: 19 |
I am thankful that I am alone this Thanksgiving. I am thankful for the peace and quiet the Gods have given me this weekend so that I may continue with my work. I am thankful for this religion and for how much I have learned and grown. I am thankful for the cards and phone calls from close friends and from family (a small dose is good enough for me).
I am thankful that I am able to be at a great school learning a lot and preparing myself for even more study. I am thankful for my friends who provide relief from academia. I am thankful for folk music that encourages my spirit to keep going and my voice to sing loud and long.
Most of all I am thankful for a combination of the mundane and the academic that lets me laugh at myself and take myself seriously, all at the same time. Many thanks to the Goddess for myriad blessings.
| First And Formost, I Would Like To Say Thanks Mom, As It... ||Nov 23rd. at 8:20:46 pm UTC|
|Wispur wolfsong (Harrison, Arkansas US) ||Age: 34 - Email |
First and formost, I would like to say thanks Mom, as it is her that is responsible for what I am today. Through her guidance, understanding and ever unwaivering love, she had taught me how to love all things in this world, in nature, in the physical realm and of course the astral/spiritual planes. How to realize that good lyes within us all, and even though there may be a seemingly unbreakable shell around some, if you try hard enough and with enough love in your own heart, you can penetrate and give love to those that are even deemed unlovable.
Second, I would like to thank the many authors that have written so many books on my beliefs, the inspiration you have given me thru your works, and helped to guide on my path towards the center, authors like Grammassi, Buckland, G. Frost, Leland, Ravenwolf and Cunningham, and many others. To all of you I give thanks and offer the most bright of blessings to you and yours

| What Am I Thankful For? I'm Thankful For The Goddess And The... ||Nov 23rd. at 10:00:43 pm UTC|
|Zenith (Subang Jaya, Malaysia) ||Age: 18 - Email |
What am I thankful for? I'm thankful for the Goddess and the God. They've helped me in my journey and always there to guide me, even through hard times. I'm thankful for my pagan friends, a handful of them that were always there for me. They were there when I went Online and they'll beep my ICQ to greet me, we'll talk and get on the day with a smile. I'm thankful for my coven mates, they are always so good to me. I'm gladful for all things I'm blessed with.
I'm thankful that I don't need to say, Malaysia is a rural place and nobody is a witch and a pagan here... there are many of us here... and I thank all who'd appeared and disappeared and reappeared on so many occasions to make my day.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I am thankful for my family and all my wonderful friends. Especially my friend since childhood, Melissa and my boyfriend whom I've grown up with, Robert. I am very fortunate to have a good job with a caring boss and enough income to just make ends meet. I am thankful that the God and Goddess are the focal point in my life and they help me grow with each day. And I am glad they blessed me with such a loving brother who has been with me through thick and thin. Thanks everyone:)

| Thanks-living All The Words Of Praise You've Spoken When There Was No... ||Nov 24th. at 2:17:03 am UTC|
|Maker (Las Vegas, Nevada US) ||Age: 51 - Email |
All the words of praise you've spoken
When there was no need to speak,
All the rush of anger broken
When you turned the other cheek,
All the gifts you freely proffered
To the lonely who yearn...
In as much as you are giving
of yourself in Goddess's own way
All your life is a thanks-living.
Everyday Thanksgiving Day.
| I Have Too Much To Be Thankful For To Name It All... ||Nov 24th. at 10:05:14 am UTC|
|Green Sprite (Fort Lauderdale, Florida US) ||Age: 18 |
I have too much to be thankful for to name it all. I'm thankful for my health and happiness, my home, the love of my family, my cat (who is unaware she's not living in Ancient Egypt being worshipped as a Goddess), the craft of magick which sparked me on my mystical spiritual quest, Gaia, mother earth, our home, Luna the heavenly sister, giver of magick and often unappreciated yet absolutely crucial sustainer of Gaia's living functions, Llew, the sun, the great father of earthly life, the stars and planets, and most importantly to me, my Jen.
P.S. - I'm also quite thankful for this website, by the way.

| Merry Meet, This Time Last Year I Had Just Given Birth To... ||Nov 24th. at 11:14:39 am UTC|
|Fannie Wrenn (Bay St. Louis, Mississippi US) ||Age: 38 |
This time last year I had just given birth to my second set of twins when I suffered congestive heart failure. My family and friends rallied around me. They took care of all my children and they prayed, Christian, Pagan, Hare Krishna. My Pagan family organized a group healing meditation. We had family members as far away as Japan and Bermuda in on the healing. The next day my heart function was almost miraculously improved. I am now one hundred percent and my close brush with death has taught me true appreciation of my family. They are the greatest. My husband and I also learned the very important lesson of asking for help when we need it , something we were always too proud to do.I thank the Goddess for giving me these most precious Blessings. BLESSED BE!
