My grands were witches and i loved their way, their way is alot like the wiccan but just not quite. So I do alot of research on these awesome matters. I am a professed witch with wiccan ways and some poeple just laugh and say you can't have it both ways and i tell them i can 'cause I am a solitary practitioner no onr rule in my dome but me. AND THE GODS THAT BE!!!!!Being of Indian decent also gives me more stomping ground too. So you see I have Motivation all over the place! Blessed Be to all and Merry Merry Ment Ember

| WHAT IF.... | Nov 19th. at 9:07:35 pm EST |

| Diego (Brazil) | Age: 20 - Email |

What if there was no war arounding us? What if there was no hungry among people? What if there was respect, love, tolerance in pures 100%?????? Well, thast´s my MOTIVATION...I dream for the day that all these things will come true (respect, love and tolerance). Kinda utopic, but still a dream...Only a dream can change the whole world to better...I could say many others things, but would get many days to write them down (LOL), but I can resume them in 1 single statement: "Everything that's good for me and to the others is the right option". So, I must confess sometimes I got myself very pissed off(so sorry 'bout this word)with many important issues that aren't in subject or are lefted away by people. I don't know quite well what happens in other countries but Brazil, but I do know that in here we have really serious probs, but many interested people are doing their part, joing in Not Gov Orgs as Greenpeace, CARE, and so...I also do my part, or well, try to as possible...I´m an Ecletic Solitary Wiccan that just born (or re-born)to the Gods, and I learned how to love Them and respect Them...I worship my magick for their glory and that's my motivation!! Patrick Henry said it best, " Give me liberty or give me death!". This adage is what inspires me as a Pantheist. Link to More info related to this post -- HERE

I always find this heartening.
O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; Of the endless trains of the faithless--of cities fill'd with the foolish; Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I,and who more faithless?) Of eyes that vainly crave the light--of the objects mean--of the struggle ever renew'd; Of the poor results of all--of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me; Of the empty and useless years of the rest--with the rest me intertwined; The question, O me! so sad, recurring--What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer.
That you are here--that life exists, and identity; That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.
-- Walt Whitman
I'm always reminded that I am a unique and special person, with my own contributions to make. It's also a subtle reminder that in a sense it's my duty to make my verse the best it can possibly be. (And, yes, I loved the movie it was used in.)

| Motivation? | Nov 19th. at 11:07:25 pm EST |

| Mike (Melbourne, Australia) | Age: 20 - Email |

My motivation, or my impulse comes from from respect for the lifeforce, belief in choice, and seeking to understand myself as a warrior as I have come across the experiences. (Try 'Awakening the Warrior Within' by Dawn Callan for a better idea on that)

| I'd Like To Say It's Love... | Nov 20th. at 1:02:32 am EST |

| Bittersweet (New Jersey, USA) | Age: 29 - Email - Web |

But I can't. Self preservation is the number one motivating force in my life. I've had to validate my very right to be alive, to be who I am, to express who I am. I cannot give in to cynicism or indifference to suffering. I can't do that and still be who I am. I can't do that and survive. THAT is my motivating force.
"I am the ideal against which I measure myself."
I wrote that ten years ago and it is still an inspiring statement. To be WHO I AM is the greatest gift I can give to myself -- the greatest gift I can give to the world. It is what motivates me to forgive myself, to love myself, and to allow my life to unfold in its natural course. It is what allows me to accept success and failure, joy and pain. If I cannot be who I truly am, I cannot survive. I lived as a woman dead to the world for many years. And I won't go back there. I am living proof that self-preservation is a powerful motivating force for change.

| I'm Inspired By... | Nov 20th. at 2:14:56 am EST |

| Illusia (Sin City, baby!) | Age: 28 - Email |

...my son. I want to make the world a better place for him to live and gro up in. He's part of the worlds most precious resource: the children. They are what will be. He learns everything he knows from me and the environment I provide for him. Yes, there are things I have no control over, but when he asks me about them, I try to do the best I can. I want to know that as he grows, he learns tolerance, patience, kindness, and that what he does can and will come back to him times three. At 8 years old, he's already learning the Wiccan ways, not because I'm forcing him to but because he wants to.
Besides, there's no better elixer for a bad day than a hug and a good belly laugh from an 8 year old.

| Knowledge | Nov 20th. at 11:02:34 am EST |

| xi (Conneaut, OH) | Age: 25 - Email |

for whithout knowledge one can know survive. with out it one goes stale and loses the thoughts of life and wishes to be no more. Even Methusila ( not sure of spelling here and bad at it anyway) spent his entire existence learning what he could so that he had something to keep him going. Knowledge to man is like milk of the mother to a babe, it makes us who we are in the eyes of all who behold us be they mortal or gods. that is my motivation.

| The Sweeper (OK) | Age: 48 - Email |

My life is motivated by the needs of my spouse, my children, the people in my life, and even those who are not.
I am motivated by the sunrise and the sunset, the stars of night sky and the bright sunshine of the day.
I am motivated by the quiet of a soft snowfall and the roar of a raging thunderstorm.
I motivated by the need to feel and experience all the gifts of the gods and I feel blessed by them.
I follow no arcane rules or specific guidelines, I simply try to do the right thing, help others, harm none and follow my path where it leads.

| Free Will | Nov 20th. at 12:08:39 pm EST |

| James Shrek (Pittsburgh PA) | Age: 25 - Email |

I try to steer my life by Free Will........the concept that every bieng is free to make their owbn choices, even if those choices don't agree with me. The only time I throw that out is if the action would violate another's Will; for example, murder is wrong because it is a termination of another's Will, basically saying 'My will to kill you matters more than you'. There's a lot more to it, and I know it ain't perfect, but s'okay, neither am I.

| The Three "P's" | Nov 20th. at 3:07:48 pm EST |

| Jennifer Paige (Hillsborough, NC) | Age: 26 - Email - Web |

I am ever motivated to promote religious tolerance and understanding. Beyond that, I try to stick to the three "p's" I set for myself in my Initiation rite: Patience, Passion, and Perserverance. These transcend into everything I do, permeate every part of my life. If I am dedicated to these three ideas, I am the most dedicated to myself, our world, and the Divine. Bright Blessings, Jennifer

| Connecting With The Universal Energy | Nov 20th. at 3:45:50 pm EST |

| Appleluna (Palm Desert,CA USA) | Age: 27 - Email |

What motivates me is my longing since childhood to merge with that universal cosmic consciousness that is apart of us. To create a relationship with the different God\desses that make up this Universal Consciousness. My guiding principles are to have love, respect, keep integrity, honor myself as part of God\dess,learn,trust my instincts, undertand others have there own paths and be open to all. When i first realized all that I could accomplish with magick and knowledge i had to fight with myself to not do negative magick out of hurt or anger. It's easy to let go of one's self in all that so i had to keep in mind that karma is unecsapable and let the universe even things out for me. To me the ability to have an open mind and heart is the greatest gift ever.
