Question of the Week: 15 - 11/13/2000

What are YOU Thankful For?

As we get together with family and friends at this time of the year (and at every time of the year), which people do you want to thank for making a meaningful difference in your life? (Why not surprise someone and thank him/her/them publicly right now and right here?) What lessons that came your way turned out to be blessings in disguise? How do you demonstrate your gratitude to the Earth and/or to your Gods/Ancestors for their continuing guidance and blessings?

| I Have Too Much To Be Thankful For To Name It All... | Nov 24th. at 10:05:14 am EST |

| Green Sprite (Fort Lauderdale, Florida US) | Age: 18 |

I have too much to be thankful for to name it all. I'm thankful for my health and happiness, my home, the love of my family, my cat (who is unaware she's not living in Ancient Egypt being worshipped as a Goddess), the craft of magick which sparked me on my mystical spiritual quest, Gaia, mother earth, our home, Luna the heavenly sister, giver of magick and often unappreciated yet absolutely crucial sustainer of Gaia's living functions, Llew, the sun, the great father of earthly life, the stars and planets, and most importantly to me, my Jen.
P.S. - I'm also quite thankful for this website, by the way.

| Merry Meet, This Time Last Year I Had Just Given Birth To... | Nov 24th. at 11:14:39 am EST |

| Fannie Wrenn (Bay St. Louis, Mississippi US) | Age: 38 |

Merry Meet, This time last year I had just given birth to my second set of twins when I suffered congestive heart failure. My family and friends rallied around me. They took care of all my children and they prayed, Christian, Pagan, Hare Krishna. My Pagan family organized a group healing meditation. We had family members as far away as Japan and Bermuda in on the healing. The next day my heart function was almost miraculously improved. I am now one hundred percent and my close brush with death has taught me true appreciation of my family. They are the greatest. My husband and I also learned the very important lesson of asking for help when we need it , something we were always too proud to do.I thank the Goddess for giving me these most precious Blessings. BLESSED BE!

| Peg Aloi (Medford, Massachusetts US) | Age: 37 |

I am thankful for this green earth and the wild and gentle beauty of nature, which inspires me each and every moment I am priviliged to walk upon it.
I am thankful to all my friends and chosen family who have walked beside me on the pagan path, for the love and lessons they have imparted to me. I am thankful to my birth family who raised me to have respect for the living earth and its creatures, and who taught me to love the outdoors.
I am thankful I have been born into a land of wealth and plenty and privilege, and that there are those who work to see that those born into less fortunate circumstances receive the help they need.
I am thankful for the kindness and generosity of others. I am thankful for the selfless acts of people who inspire me to be better than I am.
I am thankful to the many pagans and witches and Children of Earth who are trying their best to heal our planet and fight for justice for the peoples and creatures of the world.
I am thankful to my dear friends, Wren and Fritz, and the incredible work they do each day.
I am thankful to my pagan friends and family who give of themselves and make the world a more beautiful place to be: all of my friends of Babylon (Thoth, Deb, Sean, Toby, Lakshmi, Arachne, Robert, Jim, Adam, Berta, Elizabeth, all of you!), Don and Daniella, the wonderful folks at Brushwood, the Order of Ganymede and Coven Cthonioi, my UK brothers and sisters, my musical friends at the MudCat, my friends working to free the West Memphis Three, and those I wish I could talk with more often than I do.
I am thankful to the authors whose magical words have inspired me on my path, including Ronald Hutton, Leo Martello, Patricia Crowther, Sybil Leek, Janet and Stewart Farrar and Gavin Bone, Doreen Valiente, Dion Fortune, Margot Adler, Aleister Crowley, Charles Godfrey Leland, Stewart Gardner, William Butler Yeats, Walt Whitman, William Wordsworth, William Shakespeare, the list goes on!!!

| The Things That Obviously Come Into My Mind First, Are Of Course... | Nov 24th. at 2:33:15 pm EST |

| Tarah (Katherine Magus) (St. Paul, Minnesota US) | Age: 24 - Email |

The things that obviously come into my mind first, are of course, my husband, who has helped me along the path of life and the path that I have currently chosen with my religion of Wicca. And also my sweet (yet spoiled) familiars, Miss Kitty and Pandora, who have also cheered me in difficult as well as happy times. I also would like to thank my chat buddies at Yahoo abortion debate chat, especially SpiritKitty and Leescheffie who I first told my story, and who in more ways than one, saved my life and sanity after the termination of a pregnancy, and a difficult, abusive relationship. Also, they are the ones to thank that I have been on the Path of the Ancient Ones for almost 3 years now. They were the only ones to reach out to me and share a bit of themselves with me, who genuinely were interested in my healing, and not to further their agenda, and for that, I will be forever thankful.
That particular incident with the abusive ex and the pregnancy turned out to be a mixed blessing in disguise. It made me realize who my true friends were. It reunited me with the person that I was always meant to be with, and that the path of less resistance is not always what it seems.
And, finally, to the Lord and Lady, who are not far away untouchable entities, but friends and guidance hand and hand with me through the roads of life.
Blessed Be,

| Emilie (Wyoming, Minnesota US) | Age: 20 |

I'm thankful for my friends who have seen me through the difficult times that have been pressed upon especially hard this year. Also for my beloved who stands by my side through thick and thin, and for my family who doesn't, but who teach me important lessons through neglecting me enough to force me to grow and learn lessons on my own. I m also thankful for the opportunity to be here to help people as much as I can. And last of all, I am thankful for Loony Toons and the opportunity to laugh. :-)
