| I Would Just Like To Share My Enegry With All Of Those... ||Sep 14th. at 12:03:55 pm UTC|

I would just like to share my enegry with all of those who are affected by this horrible tragedy. I can feel the pain of this to my core. I try to transfer all of my strength and will to those who are desperately trying to save anyone who may still be trapped underneath 7 stories of rubble. Let us invoke the spirit of athena during this time of tragedy..... let us send as much strength as we can muster to those in Washington and in New York.
When this happened, my whole spirit hurt, cried, screamed, wept. I know many of you feel the same.... we will rise above this, we will prevail... You may break our towers, but you will never break our spirit.
By the way, any group (and you know who you are) who are blaming all non-christians for this attack, wake up, or shall we bring up the crusades?
Tonight at 7:00 I am standing outside with my goddess candle lit. I don't care if there are christians, islams, protestants, jews, atheists, people who worship Elvis, I don't care we are a united country... it's about time we showed it, and please don't take this out on all of the peace loving muslims who live among us. They feel just as bad if not worse than the rest of us. Imagine the hell all of us would go through if a pagan was responsible. They are not the perpitrators of this horrific act... they want revenge as much as the rest of us. Blessings and love to you all.

I am not a writer and have never been able to express my feelings in words but when I read this article I realized that someone else out there had already expressed these feelings for me and I would like to share the article with you. If this has already been posted, then please forgive me for the duplication.
By Leonard Pitts Jr.
Syndicated columnist for "The Miami Herald"
They pay me to tease shades of meaning from social and cultural issues, to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American soul.
But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes,
the only thing I can find to say, the only words that seem to fit, must be
addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.
You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.
What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward’s attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon, us?
What was it you hoped we would learn?
Whatever it was, please know that you failed.
Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause.
Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve.
Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.
Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family,
A family rent by racial, cultural, political and class division, but a family nonetheless.
We’re frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae, a singer’s revealing dress, a ball team’s misfortune, a cartoon mouse.
We’re wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to do it.
And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God.
Some people - you, perhaps - think that any or all of this makes us weak.
You’re mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals.
Yes, we’re in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We’re still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn’t a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn’t the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel.
Both in terms of the awful scope of its ambition and the probable final death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of the United States and, indeed, the history of the world. You’ve bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.
But there’s a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall.
This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice.
I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I think, do not. What I know reassures me.
It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future.
In days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We’ll go forward from this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined.
You see, there is steel beneath this velvet. That aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don’t know us well. On this day, the family’s bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we cherish.
Still, I keep wondering what it was you hoped to teach us. It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred.
If that’s the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don’t know my people. You don’t know what we’re about. You don’t know what you just started.
But you’re about to learn.
| I Am As Shocked As Everyone By What Happened On Tuesday. So... ||Sep 14th. at 12:46:15 pm UTC|
|LadyHawk (Romney, West Virginia US) ||Age: 44 - Email |
I am as shocked as everyone by what happened on Tuesday. So much destruction, pain and suffering. My heart goes out to the families who lost spouses, wives, children, parents, boyfriends, girlfriends, neighbors and co-workers.
And I ask myself how many more people have to die before that madness is over? By no means am I saying, that we should not go after the terrorist organization or organizations who committed this crime. But how many innocent people are we condemning to death and suffering in the process?
America changed forever when the Airplanes struck the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon. Not only struck the terrorists in the hearts of the buildings, but in they struck fear in our hearts . Fear is something much more powerful then Airplanes, bombs and guns. Do we have to live the rest of our life in fear?
What can be done besides bombing the heck out of whatever city, town or house we are targeting? I am by no means an expert on Islam, but I have never heard that Islam sanctions terrorism. I believe if President Bush, his advisors and the United Nations can get the leaders of the Islamic Nations together and condemn these terrorists as “non believers”. Declared as “persona non grata” they would have no “home”, no spirituality to fall back on and would loose support over time. What would hurt the terrorists more? The lost of “face”, “respect”, “status” or their lives? They are happy to “sacrifice” themselves for the cause. We can’t really hurt them by killing them. With weapons alone we will not win this war. Only with the help of the Gods – whichever one you believe in – can we be successful. If these people fight in the “name of God” then by all means, let us fight back “in the name of God”, by denying them their “holy war”.

Yes, the above is a joke, and a bit of an exaggeration, but not too much, sad to say. I have seen literally hundreds of similar posts from "good Christian Americans" since the bombing. The part about killing Arab kids is from a real poster. So is the term "Sand Niggers"; I must have seen it about a hundred times since Tuesday. The thing about "Uncle Sam has a big dick" is also real. I think I have seen at least a dozen versions of it since the bombing.
The attack was a terrible thing and the perpetrators must be brought to justice. But it is very interesting how it is exposing the real nature of so many people in this country and abroad.
| Greetings To All,this Is A Time For Grieving And A Time... ||Sep 14th. at 12:52:25 pm UTC|
|Raymond J. Myers, II (Boston,, Massachusetts US) ||Age: 26 - Email |
Greetings to all,
This is a time for grieving and a time for understanding. We must not allow hate to fill our hearts even though we may be looking for a way to relieve the pain of sadness. What happened on Tuesday was senseless and cruel. It served no purpose other than to take as many lives as possible. I, for one, can't understand how a person could feel this to be the answer to their woes. To take another's life is one of the most serious offenses against nature and the spirit of love possible. The Lord and the Lady do not smile on acts such as these, they grieve in pain and sorrow like the rest of us.
How do we make sense of this? How do we move forward with our lives as Pagans? How do we help those who have suffered and live with those who caused it? These are not easy questions to answer. We live as a magical people. We call upon energies and forces to aid us in our daily lives that most people deny exist. How do we wield such an ability with out directing our pain at another? It is something we must consider and attacking another is something we must not do.
It is a concern of mine, as a practicing and open Witch, that WE as Pagans are slowly becoming victims of the pain and anger, fear and hatred of other Americans. I was appalled to read about the message preached by Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson that accused liberals, gays, Pagans et. al. for the atrocities that occured on Tuesday. This sentiment made me sad. It saddened me because there are people willing to take a tragedy such as has occured and turn it into a platform by which to preach hatred. At this time of sorrow, we must turn to one another as brother and sister and greive for our people together not hate or blame one another.
I have to say, at this moment I fear for my friends and family, Pagan and non-Pagan alike. I have friends that have been turned away from services of prayer because they worship the God and Goddess. This should not be happening but it is. My one wish is for us to unite as a nation, as a people and work together to get through this tragedy. I am afraid, however, that we have much in the way of work to acheive this. This act of terrorism brought to the surface latent feelings of bigotry and prejudice that I fear will lead to many more such incidences of tragedy.
Let us not forget Nostradamus predicted this would happen and it would be followed by a war that would be greater than all others and this war would go on for many years. If this is to come, we must band together to comfort each other in the impending time of sorrow.
Let us as Pagans unite and send out love and hope into the Universe in order to precipitate that love and hope to all peoples of the world. Let us stop the hate and start the love.
In the Service of the Mother and Father....

I am sickened by the attitiude of some Americans.
I have now heard two prominent American figures say that they need to retaliate, and that if they kill innocnet people in the process then so be it.
This is exactly what the terrorists did, they were upset about something and so murdered thousands who had nothing to do with it.
Now America wants to do the same. They are lowering themselves, they are becoming no better than the terrorists. And by claiming that this is the right thing to do, they are condoning what the terrorists did and saying that it too was right.
Murder is always wrong.

There are so many things I would like to say, but the emotions that are stirred by the sights and sounds of the past few days are too much to express here or anywhere.
I work in Manhattan and live in Brooklyn. Ash and interoffice mail had fallen by my house on Tuesday. The acrid smell of smoldering rubble has been wafting through ever since. This tragedy has touched my life in ways that I cannot express. My family members and some close friends that were working in the Trade Center that day were fortunate enough to escape with their lives. Some of my other friends that are members of FDNY and the NYPD weren't so lucky. It's so hard to fathom why anyone would do such a thing. It's even harder to be enlightened about it-personally I want all those who are terrorists and those who harbor them to feel our pain and misery, and not be able to cheer in the streets and hand out candy to children. People come to this country to be safe, and they succeeded in fracturing that sense of security, and awakening fear in the hearts of many about immigrants of all kinds. I think rituals calling on the Goddess as a vehicle of Justice would be apropos, as well as healing rituals. And don't even get me started on that Falwell moron!
I'm busy with the rescue efforts here and I would like to ask anyone who wants to help, to please make monetary donations to the red cross or other organizations. Money will help them provide the rescuers with ample food, clothing, and other supplies. On behalf of myself and others here in NYC, thank you so much for your prayers, rituals, and thoughts for the victims and rescuers.
