| Dear Friends,i Am Sure That We All Know About The Tragedy... ||Sep 15th. at 11:11:26 pm UTC|
|Wyldkat (Felton, California US) ||Age: 25 - Email |
I am sure that we all know about the tragedy of the terrorist attack on Tuesday. I am a council member at a faith based website and we would like to try to have a national day of prayer and mourning. This will be an event that will surpass any and all religious and racial barriers. The hope is that we will all pull together despite our differences and raise as much positive energy, support, hope and love as possible. On Tuesday the 17th one week from the day of the attack please just take a couple of minutes out of your day. Light a candle and place it in your window and pray in whatever manner you feel is appropriate, be it going to church, meditating or just thinking about those who lost thier lives and thier survivors and those who will be involved in the aftermath. If possible also keep in mind the fact that we will pull together and we will recover from this atrocity. Pray for peace and recovery. Please let anyone who might care know about this.
| I've Been So Encouraged By The Actions Of Ya'll. If You Don't... ||Sep 15th. at 11:26:16 pm UTC|
|boog (Donaldsonville, Louisiana US) ||Age: 30 |
I've been so encouraged by the actions of ya'll. If you don't mind showing an "I" posting, please do.
I feel everyone reaching out to each other. I search for my abilities to help others with the gifts I was given. I have the power of my own life. I have trust in the powers around me. I have faith in my fellow man and trust the spirit that weaves us together.
I feel regret that I have not appreciated that which I took for granted. I look forward to bright and rainy days with those I love and the same for everyone else.
Peace will come; I don't doubt the love in our world.
I pray for our leaders. I think they have been careful of making judgements and have been grateful for the actions of so many supporters. I pray for the medical workers across the country and around the world. I pray for the firefighters, law authorities, military, and citizens.
I am proud to be a part of this world. I don't consider myself a solitary anymore. My private conversations with higher beings will hereafter have more meaning - for the good of all.
| I Am Not A Wiccan Member However I Have Always Found This... ||Sep 15th. at 11:41:35 pm UTC|
|Maryann (Warwick, Rhode Island US) ||Age: 37 - Email |
I am not a Wiccan member however I have always found this religion both interesting and admirable. In this time of grief and fear of what has happened in our country as well as what is to come, my thoughts turn to the Wiccan community. Not being a strongly religious person, I find it hard to cope with the feelings of helplessness that so many of us share, these last few days. Therefore I once again am drawn to trying to see hope in the positive energy that the Wiccan community can put forth. I don't pretend to know everything about your religion, since I've only read very little about it, but I do know that we need the positive forces and the protection that I know all of you will give. And for that I say thank you and Blessed Be.
| Falloakit Saddens Me Deeply To See Our Fine & Strong County Being... ||Sep 16th. at 12:23:51 am UTC|
|FallOak (Elizabeth, New Jersey US) ||Age: 52 - Email |
It saddens me deeply to see our fine & strong county being despressed and devidedy such people that clearly do not have amy conception of what live in a country that allows you to make your own choices and plans for the future. I once felt this way about other relegions untill I found the Lady and the Lord. Since then my outlook on matters has changed drastictly. I feel very very saddened by the countries that push only one relegion upon there peopel and brain wash them into believing that this the one and only way. It is very hard to persequte a complete religion when there are so many others that may not or do not accept there methods, Unfortunatly there choices are limited and they are quaght up in the mess that was created. I my shelf have served in a war, I my slef know the power from the heaveans when it is called upon. If it were not true I would not be here today writing this letter expressing my thoughts. I believe there is a time that we should have to be diplamatic in our undertaking and get all of our facts togher before we make a move that can and will have an implact on our land for may years to come. We need to make sure that we are not condemming our children and our grandchildren to a life of misery and discontent. A war shuch as the one we may be undertaking is one that may or will go on for more yeass that I would like to think of. We all need to remember that with each step we take back wards it will take many steps forward to clean it up.
Retallation for what has been done to our brothers & sisters must be done, The teaching of may of us before becoming Wiccians was "An Eye for an Eye and a Tooth for a Tooth'. It has taken me close to 53 years to come to the conclusion that this may not be the true approach to the problem. Some times we need to come up with another approach of showing just how mis leading the religis sect can be to people and show them how much love and understanding they are missing by following people like this. Going to another county and using military force will gain only one thinfg for sure, More deaths, more loss of family members and friends and this is on both sides. So, do we fight untill there is no one left standing and at that time make the decision that the winner must be the way we want to live even if the winner is wrong..... I say not, we must keep togher and use the forces that we have the strongest. The power of our love and the power instilled within us by the Lord and the Lady. Using these powers as aids to fight off our enemies. We do not want to see any more family and freiends die to make someoe else to be shown as the most powerful when we all know that being toghere and staying together is the most powerful force that no one can overcome. The power of our families is more powerful that any one enemy
Because of this brothers & Sisters we must banned togher all of our love and power and focus it in the direction that is will bo the best good. If fighting is our only way to remiedy this situation, than this we must do, but we must do it in a manner that will truly support all of us.
| On September 11, 2001 The World Was Stunned With The Horrific Terrorist... ||Sep 16th. at 12:49:31 am UTC|
|Rawa (Afghanistan) ||Age: 35 |
On September 11, 2001 the world was stunned with the horrific terrorist attacks on the United States. RAWA stands with the rest of the world in expressing our sorrow and condemnation for this barbaric act of violence and terror. RAWA had already warned that the United States should not support the most treacherous, most criminal, most anti-democracy and anti-women Islamic fundamentalist parties because after both the Jehadi and the Taliban have committed every possible type of heinous crimes against our people, they would feel no shame in committing such crimes against the American people whom they consider "infidel". In order to gain and maintain their power, these barbaric criminals are ready to turn easily to any criminal force.
But unfortunately we must say that it was the government of the United States who supported Pakistani dictator Gen. Zia-ul Haq in creating thousands of religious schools from which the germs of Taliban emerged. In the similar way, as is clear to all, Osama Bin Laden has been the blue-eyed boy of CIA. But what is more painful is that American politicians have not drawn a lesson from their pro-fundamentalist policies in our country and are still supporting this or that fundamentalist band or leader. In our opinion any kind of support to the fundamentalist Taliban and Jehadies is actually trampling democratic, women's rights and human rights values.
If it is established that the suspects of the terrorist attacks are outside the US, our constant claim that fundamentalist terrorists would devour their creators, is proved once more.
The US government should consider the root cause of this terrible event, which has not been the first and will not be the last one too. The US should stop supporting Afghan terrorists and their supporters once and for all.
Now that the Taliban and Osama are the prime suspects by the US officials after the criminal attacks, will the US subject Afghanistan to a military attack similar to the one in 1998 and kill thousands of innocent Afghans for the crimes committed by the Taliban and Osama? Does the US think that through such attacks, with thousands of deprived, poor and innocent people of Afghanistan as its victims, will be able to wipe out the root-cause of terrorism, or will it spread terrorism even to a larger scale?
From our point of view a vast and indiscriminate military attacks on a country that has been facing permanent disasters for more than two decades will not be a matter of pride. We don't think such an attack would be the expression of the will of the American people.
The US government and people should know that there is a vast difference between the poor and devastated people of Afghanistan and the terrorist Jehadi and Taliban criminals.
While we once again announce our solidarity and deep sorrow with the people of the US, we also believe that attacking Afghanistan and killing its most ruined and destitute people will not in any way decrease the grief of the American people. We sincerely hope that the great American people could DIFFERENTIATE between the people of Afghanistan and a handful of fundamentalist terrorists. Our hearts go out to the people of the US.
| The Call For Retribution, After Tuesday's Attack's Should Not Be Answered. Responding... ||Sep 16th. at 12:52:41 am UTC|
|Sunstar (Vancouver, British Columbia CA) ||Age: 29 |
The call for retribution, after Tuesday's attack's should not be answered. Responding with like action isn't the sign of strength that it seems to be on the surface. An action, done in the name of good; that perpetuates violence, distruction and death: doesn't fall under that label. America is a strong nation, full of strong people. If strong action is required, why not try for understanding? To respond without retribution is a much stronger act. One more suiting the strength of the American people. The tragedy that has happened has touched everyone. We all mourn together for the lost, the wounded, and for those left behind.
Would those who were lost, condone further violence? Further pain? Further horror?
Remeber the wiccan rede.
Our hearts go out to all of you, our hopes for your healing, a wish for peaceful resolution.
| I Can Hardly Comprehend The Hatred Behind These Acts Of Terrorism. This... ||Sep 16th. at 1:17:19 am UTC|
|Nyan Matthies (Gobles, Michigan US) ||Age: 44 |
I can hardly comprehend the hatred behind these acts of terrorism. This is what I think should be done. We've got to follow the money trail. It takes a LOT of money to finance a operation of this magnitude. If I knew any really good hackers, Bin Laden would be in the poorhouse. I would funnel all of his ill-gotton gains to the people that suffered the ultimate losses in this tragedy. I've got to believe that this would hurt him, and his followers the most. I most emphaticly believe in the "rule of three". I don't see this person in any hurry to meet his maker. That's why he has his "toadies" do the dirty work. I too agree with the person that wrote about the witches during WWII. I have read about it, and believe it happened. I say it wouldn't hurt to try.
My heart is broken for the people that have suffered during this time. I am stunned, shocked and angry. I can't with any honesty say that I can forgive the people that did this. It is just how I feel. When the media runs the images of the crashes over and over, I have to turn away. I can't watch without crying. I don't know a single person in these attacks, but it hurts me anyway. I don't believe that they are finished, either. THAT is what scares me. We've GOT to do something because I think doing nothing is a greater evil. Blessed Be.
| I've Been Reading Through The Posts; Not All Of Them, I Admit... ||Sep 16th. at 1:36:54 am UTC|
|RiverHawk (Cobleskill) ||Age: 47 - Email |
I've been reading through the posts; not all of them, I admit. Some give me hope, some make me sad. I will brief -- in this time of great sorrow, I call on my sisters and brothers in the Pagan and Wiccan community to reach out to our neighbors, not as Pagans and Wiccans, but as human beings. Do you know an Arab-American? Reach out. Are they being harassed? Stand by them. Do you know someone in despair? Reach out. Our differences do not matter now. The only thing that matters is our common humanity. May the God and Goddess bless us all, everyone.

MAY PEACE PREVAIL. As hard as this may seem to say... PLEASE LET US FORGIVE OUR ENEMY - if for no other reason than to save ourselves.... SEND WHITE LIGHT to the perpator(s). Change is possible - let us visualize a change of heart, let each of us find true forgiveness, let us embrace that feeling and spread it throughout our daily lives.

| As A Teenager, I've Often Been Told That Not Everything's Perfect In... ||Sep 16th. at 4:13:48 am UTC|
|Saislyn (London, England UK) ||Age: 15 - Email |
As a teenager, I've often been told that not everything's perfect in this world. Tuesday sparked a repeat of the same old lecture I get everytime somebody dies, but this time, I didn't need to be told; I didn't want to be told. It was as if, if I had that lecture, it would make it all real. I didn't know anyone on the planes, or in the buildings, but I was hit all the same. For the past five days I've had a stream of extreme emotions, from the normal cheer to burst of uncontrollable tears. I don't think I have ever been affected this way before, and I don't ever want to be again.
They're saying that it's war. And I know that the big military guys have been at war before during my lifetime, but never so publically; the public don't usually get a blow-by-blow account of what their military is doing. That all changed when those terrorists attacked the innocent people in those towers on the basis of an argument a majority of them didn't even know they were a part of. And even as a strong pacifist, that makes me angry. I'm not going to deny that I sincerely believe that justice has to prevail, but killing innocents in Afghanistan surely isn't the answer. That really does bring us down to their level. I've heard numerous people my age demanding that our governments administer some sort of restraint, and believe me, it isn't just because they think they'll get called up to the Armed Forces or blown up by a nuclear device if we go to war.
Justice has to be served, but *not* hastily, and without simply attacking Afghanistan. Like an MP said in the Houses of Parliament the other day, "if you attack Afghanistan, killing innocents, then you'll create a thousand little bin Ladens for the one that you've finished."
Finally, I want to send out my deepest heartfelt condolences to anybody who has been directly hit by this tragedy. To the friends and families of the people in the planes, in the towers, in the Pentagon and in the Emergency Services. Their deaths will never be forgotten. And to all of my brothers and sisters on the other side of the Atlantic, my most sincere blessings are with you all.
Gods bless America.
| Tonight I Lit My Candles. One Was Red. As I Lit It... ||Sep 16th. at 4:15:39 am UTC|
|Arhianna Wavewalker (Jacksonville, Alabama US) ||Age: 21 - Email |
Tonight I lit my candles. One was red. As I lit it, I prayed to Macha, Artemis, Hectate, and the Goddess in her Warrior aspect to bring justice to those responsible for thier actions. The next was white. While lighting it, I prayed to Hygeia and Briget to bring healing to the hearts, minds, and bodies of all those hurt in this terrible tragedy. The last one was blue. On it, I placed a prayer to Isis, Demeter, and the Great Mother to bring peace to this world and Her peoples.
The candles sat on the balcony and burned, looking like three small stars and bringing light to the dark, cold night. All flickered in the wind, at times looking like they might be blown out, but managed to keep burning. The healing candle stayed going the longest, but it was the peace candle that burned the brighest.
Make of that what you will.
