| I've Been Reading Through The Posts; Not All Of Them, I Admit... | Sep 16th. at 1:36:54 am EDT |

| RiverHawk (Cobleskill) | Age: 47 - Email |

I've been reading through the posts; not all of them, I admit. Some give me hope, some make me sad. I will brief -- in this time of great sorrow, I call on my sisters and brothers in the Pagan and Wiccan community to reach out to our neighbors, not as Pagans and Wiccans, but as human beings. Do you know an Arab-American? Reach out. Are they being harassed? Stand by them. Do you know someone in despair? Reach out. Our differences do not matter now. The only thing that matters is our common humanity. May the God and Goddess bless us all, everyone.

MAY PEACE PREVAIL. As hard as this may seem to say... PLEASE LET US FORGIVE OUR ENEMY - if for no other reason than to save ourselves.... SEND WHITE LIGHT to the perpator(s). Change is possible - let us visualize a change of heart, let each of us find true forgiveness, let us embrace that feeling and spread it throughout our daily lives.

| As A Teenager, I've Often Been Told That Not Everything's Perfect In... | Sep 16th. at 4:13:48 am EDT |

| Saislyn (London, England UK) | Age: 15 - Email |

As a teenager, I've often been told that not everything's perfect in this world. Tuesday sparked a repeat of the same old lecture I get everytime somebody dies, but this time, I didn't need to be told; I didn't want to be told. It was as if, if I had that lecture, it would make it all real. I didn't know anyone on the planes, or in the buildings, but I was hit all the same. For the past five days I've had a stream of extreme emotions, from the normal cheer to burst of uncontrollable tears. I don't think I have ever been affected this way before, and I don't ever want to be again.
They're saying that it's war. And I know that the big military guys have been at war before during my lifetime, but never so publically; the public don't usually get a blow-by-blow account of what their military is doing. That all changed when those terrorists attacked the innocent people in those towers on the basis of an argument a majority of them didn't even know they were a part of. And even as a strong pacifist, that makes me angry. I'm not going to deny that I sincerely believe that justice has to prevail, but killing innocents in Afghanistan surely isn't the answer. That really does bring us down to their level. I've heard numerous people my age demanding that our governments administer some sort of restraint, and believe me, it isn't just because they think they'll get called up to the Armed Forces or blown up by a nuclear device if we go to war.
Justice has to be served, but *not* hastily, and without simply attacking Afghanistan. Like an MP said in the Houses of Parliament the other day, "if you attack Afghanistan, killing innocents, then you'll create a thousand little bin Ladens for the one that you've finished."
Finally, I want to send out my deepest heartfelt condolences to anybody who has been directly hit by this tragedy. To the friends and families of the people in the planes, in the towers, in the Pentagon and in the Emergency Services. Their deaths will never be forgotten. And to all of my brothers and sisters on the other side of the Atlantic, my most sincere blessings are with you all.
Gods bless America.

| Tonight I Lit My Candles. One Was Red. As I Lit It... | Sep 16th. at 4:15:39 am EDT |

| Arhianna Wavewalker (Jacksonville, Alabama US) | Age: 21 - Email |

Tonight I lit my candles. One was red. As I lit it, I prayed to Macha, Artemis, Hectate, and the Goddess in her Warrior aspect to bring justice to those responsible for thier actions. The next was white. While lighting it, I prayed to Hygeia and Briget to bring healing to the hearts, minds, and bodies of all those hurt in this terrible tragedy. The last one was blue. On it, I placed a prayer to Isis, Demeter, and the Great Mother to bring peace to this world and Her peoples.
The candles sat on the balcony and burned, looking like three small stars and bringing light to the dark, cold night. All flickered in the wind, at times looking like they might be blown out, but managed to keep burning. The healing candle stayed going the longest, but it was the peace candle that burned the brighest.
Make of that what you will.
Goddess bless! Arhianna )O(

| I Think That This Whole Thing Is Horrid... How Could Any Human... | Sep 16th. at 8:07:55 am EDT |

| AradiaMoon (Milton, Florida US) | Age: 19 - Email |

I think that this whole thing is horrid... how could any human being do this?.. It sickens me. I work the night shift at a convenience store, and last night, when I came in, a co-worker told me of a man who came in. He was an army official, and he was bragging of his being called into war. He was, to say the least, a very hateful, ignorant man. He bragged of killing 13 panama natives, after asking my co-workers' origin. (She is a panama native) He also bragged of an incident a couple days ago, in which he approached a veiled American arab woman in a mall. He ripped her veil off, and then made the comment that"I see why you wear the veil. You're an ugly b*tch!" Then, he proceeded to blame part of the attack on "Those damned Pagans" I am glad that I wasn't there when this man came in, because I was very angered and saddened about it.. again, when something goes wrong, they manage to blame pagans. And what he did to that Arab woman was incredibly cruel!.. We are not the people who are starting the war. No entire race of people is responsible for this. It is people such as this hateful man, who start wars and hatred like this.. not us. )o( Peace to all.

| May I Offer My Deepest Condolences To The American People For The... | Sep 16th. at 8:27:55 am EDT |

| Lamia (Liverpool, England UK) | Age: 42 - Email |

May I offer my deepest condolences to the American people for the tragedy they are currently suffering and assure them that the thoughts of all of us in the UK are with you at this terrible time. Although I did not know anyone involved in this tragedy personally, I work for a large insurance company and we are told that one of our American colleagues who worked in the WTC is still missing, so in some small way at least, this tragedy is affecting everyone in the west, everyone knows someone, who knows someone etc. I live in Liverpool, so I know well how tragedy (in our case the Hillsborough disaster) can affect an entire city and the endless questions that haunt you afterwards, the why and the how of it. If any of my American brothers and sisters just want someone to talk to, please feel free to e-mail me. I will dedicate my next working to the American people and the promotion of peace between the people of the world.
May all the Gods grant you peace & love. Blessed Be.

| Pray For Peace. I Propose A Worldwide Circle, And For Every Wiccan... | Sep 16th. at 8:40:22 am EDT |

| Lotus Randomfactor (Memphis, Tennessee US) | Age: 25 - Email |

Pray for peace. I propose a worldwide circle, and for every Wiccan and Pagan out there to do a small ritual to bring those responsible to justice, and those innocents to protection.
If the USA goes to "bomb Afghanistan back into the stone age, " as they have put it, we will be doing nothing but bringing more blood onto our hands as a nation, and inviting further, more violent, more devistating retributions. An eye for an eye only invites more tears.
What of those innocent Muslims, both in the Middle East and in America? How many more innocents will have to suffer before we wake up and start making real changes, and becoming really mature?
Our anger is there, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's natural and understandable. But let us not be so angry we want to destroy, but angry enough that we want to change things.

| Rilluin Curusul (Carlsbad, California US) | Age: 16 - Email |

Personally, I would be cheering to no end if a squad of InterPol agents broke into the rat hole that bin Laden has run down and nabbed him and his major advisors, then a group of CIA agents did the same to the Taliban's ruling elite and then all of the above were brought to trial for their crimes and punished through due process of the law, but it would hurt me to no end to see US bombers and troops pummelling the crap out of a village that has just one suspected terrorist in it. Yes, I want to see this monster and those who hide him brought to justice, but not the innocent, unknowing people of Afganistan killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That would make this country even worse and more heartless than they.
Bright Blessings all,
Rilluin Curusul

| I Look Out My Window To Where The Wtc Used To Stand... | Sep 16th. at 10:21:20 am EDT |

| Oldcrow (NYC, New York US) | Age: 31 - Email |

I look out my window to where the WTC used to stand proudly as guardians to the Statue of Liberty and ambassadors of New York CityŐs Harbor. Some would say beacons that would welcome home the wary traveler and the daily reminder were the train home was. They weŐre alive in every sense of the word, they breathed, moved, and pulsed with every life-energy that inhabited them. Those building weŐre forged by human hand as a monument of what we can make from the body of our Great Mother.
I look out my window and see them gone, a pocket of empty space that use to glitter like two scepters in the night, completing the jewelry of lights. No longer the beacons of home but of travesty. Gone with them the breath of life that inhabited them and the breath of awe of their sheer existence. Replaced is numbing emptiness and a gasp of breathe and sighs of devastation. What human hands made human hands took away.
Am I to be angry, terrorized, confused, sadden, devastated, numb, hurt, fearful? Pick one or all and you would be right. I am struck to the very core of my being. Normally with a dirty joke up my sleeve and snicker on my face, I find nothing to laugh about and my facial expression empty. These types of horrors have been around since the dawn of time and will continue on til I am not here to witness them. This time terror has struck home, and took the very symbol of home to me.
Today I stand looking at once was and try to mimic what they symbolized to me because those I care for and those who I meet by chance need me to be. I donŐt know the answers nor to I profess to, but I have a shoulder to cry on, ears to listen and a heart to feel.
May Grandfather Sun warm you May Grandmother Moon guild you in your darkness May FatherSky stand guard over you And May GreatMother Earth cradle you
Blessed Be, Oldcrow

| A Few Years Ago, A War Was Raging In My Country. I... | Sep 16th. at 10:32:06 am EDT |

| Petra (Zagreb, Croatia) | Age: 30 |

A few years ago, a war was raging in my country. I know what it's like to be afraid, to watch and feel the pain, and still I don't think I can even imagine what America must be going through. Probably all of Croatian people was in front of TV's this week, watching CNN all day long, feeling as if we were attacked. And in a sense, we were, because every normal human being must feel this horrible act as an attack upon all humanity. I can't find the words to express my sadness, anger, and disbelief. I can only offer my deepest condolences to all of you who lost somebody.
I hope America can find the strenght not to start the war, despite the desire for revenge. I hope you can show the rest of the world what it means to be big, really big, as this little corner of the world percieves you. I hope and pray that you find the way for reaching justice without shedding more blood.
Blessed be, Petra

| I Am Sick Of The Press Broadcasting Military Troop Movements, Deployment Schedules... | Sep 16th. at 10:50:46 am EDT |

| Stephanie (Midwest City, Oklahoma US) | Age: 30 - Email |

I am sick of the press broadcasting military troop movements, deployment schedules, the president and the vice president's location and routes. I am sick of watching the press broadcast the location of agents and teams in the middle of investigations live as if it were a reality television show. Like terrorists do not watch television? Everytime the press releases that kind of information under these kinds of circumstances, they place federal agents, military members and the executive Branch in imminent physical danger. If I were an active duty military member and I were to release that kind of information, I would loose my security clearance and then I would be discharged from active duty with other charges pending. I remember in Somalia, when the press lit up the beach and the U.S. Marines who were storming it, illuminating them for possible snipers. Everyone knows that these people place themselves in harms way, the press is insuring that harm will come to these military members and agents everytime they broadcase plans, locations and strategies. We have freedom of press with the understanding that it would be used responsibly, this is not the example of responsible press coverage.
