Question of the Week: 15 - 11/13/2000

What are YOU Thankful For?

As we get together with family and friends at this time of the year (and at every time of the year), which people do you want to thank for making a meaningful difference in your life? (Why not surprise someone and thank him/her/them publicly right now and right here?) What lessons that came your way turned out to be blessings in disguise? How do you demonstrate your gratitude to the Earth and/or to your Gods/Ancestors for their continuing guidance and blessings?

| A Million Things I Am Thankful For. The Presence Of The Lord... | Nov 26th. at 3:45:38 pm EST |

| Mikkii (W. F., Texas US) | Age: 28 |

A million things I am thankful for. The presence of the Lord and the Lady in my life, The blue sky and the green earth. Family beyond compare and friends with whom I share my life. A couple of bright curious growning children and a supportive husband, and this year a new baby that my best friend ever, adopted and named after me. May thier new family remain together in love and light. And of course I am thankkful for Maeven at Betwixt and Between for giving those of us in need an address, and to all those on the board at the center for working so hard everyday to make a better, more tolerant world. Thanks to my tribe. And a sound appreciation for the poeple at Witchvox for working so hard to keep us together and updated on issues that concern our community. I am thankful I can be a pagan and proud in this day and age.

| I'm Thankful For So Many Things. I'm Thankful To Be As Fortunate... | Nov 26th. at 7:00:00 pm EST |

| Vanessa (Around Buffalo, New York US) | Age: 16 - Email |

I'm thankful for so many things. I'm thankful to be as fortunate as I am. I feel so grateful that I don't have to worry about where my next meal is coming from, like many people in our world, or where I'm going to sleep tonight. I'm grateful that my loved ones and I have never been struck my life threatening illnesses. I'm thankful to even have loved ones and those I can trust. Also, I'm thankful that World War 3 hasn't hit, and that the US isn't fighting a major war on its' soil. I'm thankful for the ability to love; people, nature, and the Lord and Lady. There is so much that I'm thankful for, I could go on forever.

| Uniting With My Family Seems Like A Lesson In And Of Itself... | Nov 28th. at 1:16:21 am EST |

| Illia (tampa, Florida US) | Age: 22 |

Uniting with my family seems like a lesson in and of itself. One that instructs me in patience and compassion. Circumstances led me far from my family, directly from birth. Only recently have I been blessed (or cursed, depending on how you look at it) with the oppurtunity to unite with my immediate family. Having been on my own for the majority of life, my sense of independance is deeply rooted. The immense wisdom of those Divine often is only revealed to me through hindsight. Many of my family members follow the christian beliefs, and are estranged by my unfamiliar and "unholy" ways. I must constantly exercise my capacity for forgiveness, and acceptance. The irony in the situation is that I often take the stance that Jesus took , yet all the while being condemned by his followers. It is difficult and trying, yet my gratitude for them far outweighs my occasional frustrations. Family is a gift of strange and magnificent proportions. To try to consolidate the meaning of family is an insurmountable task, due to it's many complexities. It is these complexities that keep me enamored and curious. When I am curious, I question, when I question, I learn, and it is through this knowledge that I BECOME.I show my gratitude by accepting and embracing this gift I have been given, FAMILY.
