Question of the Week: 98 - 2/10/2003

Would You Live In A Haunted House?

You have found the perfect house. But it’s haunted. Doors open and close. Lights flip on and off. Footsteps are heard in the hallway, furniture is rearranged and ghostly figures are spotted wandering the grounds.
Would you move in?
Would you be comfortable living with ghosts and/or paranormal activities? Or would you send the spirits an eviction notice?
What are your thoughts on paranormal manifestations?

I have always invited all things to my house hold be it good, bad or even...well you know. I'm just that way I guess. I have had my run in with all kind of them. Some have come to harm. Others to to releve their pain. And, others have come to just see what was there. Just like other people. You don't kill or banish people. They have there right to be there as well. But, answer the question though: Yes I would live in such a house.

First, I would do divination and contact the spirits, to see why they were there. If they were trapped, I would assist them across. If they were friendly house spirits who were just there for the heck of it, I'd move in and let them stay. If they were unfriendly or harmful and I could not manage to remove them, or SHOULD NOT for karmic reasons on the part of the spirit, then I would find a different home!

| In Some Houses :) | Feb 13th. at 4:55:38 pm EST |

We have a house on some old family property here in California. The house is very old for California, having been built in the 1860s. Anyway, there is a spirit who resides there, and I would definately not have a problem moving in with her. She is the sweetest! Over the years, a few families have moved into the house as caretakers for the ranch. This spirit (Her name is Molly) often sits on the beds of any children in the house, and sings to them. If men living in the house show any anger or aggression towards any women or children in the house, Molly gets angry, and things start falling off the walls. Also, there was an incident where 2 of my playmates (when I was little) had been somewhat naughty, and their mother became angry. Molly held the door to their bedroom closed so that the mother could not get in until she calmed down. Molly particularly enjoys protecting the adult female occupants of the house, it seems, and loves to tend to the children. I think it is possible she was killed in the house when she was a mother with small children, and remained to protect them. I would have to say that spirits seem to be like roommates.. some you can co-habitate with, and some just aren't any fun at all.

| Haunted Hauses Are Good To Me | Feb 13th. at 5:03:49 pm EST |

I see no problem living in a haunted house, as a matter of fact i already live in a house that has two spirits in it. What i like about it is the fact that you can comunicate with these spirits and yes they can help you or so they have helped me, and i encourage anyone who finds a haunted house that they wish to live in, go ahead and buy it if its for sale and live there.

i would live in a haunted house as long as the ghosts are not evil ghosts that try to harm people.

Not that the thought of ghosts make me think of evil things sucking out my brain or anything, but I just watch too many movies. I'd be way too scared and I'd start thinking of why the ghost or spirt was there in the first place. Like I said, I watch too many horror movies.

| Spirits Everywhere Anyway | Feb 13th. at 8:09:41 pm EST |

I have lived in haunted houses before and would definately do it again. My family lived in a house for six years that was haunted by the spirit of a child. Besides, spirits are everywhere. Just because you can't see them or sense them doesn't mean they'renot there. You can actually learn a lot if you take the time to notice.

| To Live With Ghosts. | Feb 13th. at 9:08:30 pm EST |

| White Shadow (Granite City, IL.) | Age: 31 - Email |

The question is not an easy one to anwser. When i was growing up i had a ghost in the house. The ghost was more into pranks that anything. He would take things and hide them. It was not hard to live with him. When i got older i joined the military, i rented a house that had a ghost it was not a good time. She would turn on lights, slam doors & change the time on all of the clocks, that sucked. Because of the trouble she caused i had to brake my lease pay a lot of money i did not have. So i guess that if i had to do it again i would try to find out what actions the ghost was into. I like to live with ghosts it has been a good learning experence, It helped me learn to listen to them and under stand what they were saying and to try and help them pass over.

Personally, I wouldn't want to live with any sort of invisible entity that could be watching me at any time without me knowing about it. I would always feel uncomfortable when doing anything of a private and/or sexual nature.
