Question of the Week: 21 - 12/26/2000

What is/was your New Year's resolution?

Did you make a New Year's resolution? Have you made one before that you really kept? How about the one that you didn't? What about your cats? Did they promise to "not hack up furballs into your new suede boots" this year? Do you have some funny resolution jokes? What resolutions would you like to see OTHER people make? And if the Pagan community could get together (Yeah, Right.) to make one New Year's resolution, what do you think it might be?

I Never Make A New Year's Resolution Anymore. The Stress Of Accomplishing... | Dec 31st. at 2:17:26 am EST |

Heidi (St. Paul, Minnesota US) | Age: 29 |

I never make a New Year's Resolution anymore. The stress of accomplishing the task under the scrutiny of friends and family is just too much. Now I generally make private resolutions at Imbolc along with my yearly Super-duper house cleaning. Those resolutions have been far more successful.

Well, My Resolutions Have Never Been A Priority For Me, But I... | Dec 30th. at 4:27:00 pm EST |

Dragon's Blood (Amarillo, Texas US) | Age: 26 |

Well, my resolutions have never been a priority for me, but I am going to make this years a high priority. My resolution is to become more involved in the community, not only within but outside the Pagan community. This year is going to be my year for new beginnings. I will get out of debt and find a new place to live. I will keep my job and work hard for that promotion and money I hate so much. I will be more open to love and trust the opposite sex. I will continue to grow as I am taught the lessons that life has to teach.

I Have Personally Decided Long Ago To Not Make Mew Year's Resolutions... | Dec 30th. at 10:53:12 am EST |

Lucinda-June Chapman (Elmira, New York US) | Age: 48 - Email |

I have personally decided long ago to not make mew year's resolutions, and I'll continue with that, but I think for the Pagan population we should put aside our differences and work together for the good of the country and the world. The Catholics and Protestants never had any problem cooperatting in the opression of other religions, and we should speak as one voice to protect our rights.
The trouble with not voting is that there is always someone out there who is perfectly happy to make decisions for us, and in the matter of things it is the control freaks who can't stand no one being in control.

Lose Ten Pounds (i Know, It's Cliche) Work More On My Writing... | Dec 29th. at 10:24:14 pm EST |

simona elda (duluth, Minnesota US) | Age: 30 |

lose ten pounds (i know, it's cliche) work more on my writing be more out of the broom closet. i've decided i'm not going to hide myself at work anymore. i mean, i'm not going to scream "i'm a witch" in the hallways, but if people ask me questions about my religious beliefs (and where i work, this subject comes up a lot more often than it should in a public school building) i'm just going to be open about it. i figure, if they can sit around and talk about their churches and the bible, why in goddess' names shouldn't i be able to be as matter of fact about my spiritual beliefs? if it costs me my job, then maybe i don't really want to work there in the first place, kapich?

My Resolution, And The Resolution Of My Best Friend, Is To Make... | Dec 29th. at 7:10:55 pm EST |

April (Portland, Oregon US) | Age: 21 - Email |

My resolution, and the resolution of my best friend, is to make more of an effort to eat vegetarian. There are lots of reasons for this, she is an animal lover, and I'm an environmentalist who has researched the effects of lots of animal farming. As far as the world goes, I wish there was a resolution to encourage many more people to believe in reincarnation, for the simple reason that if people thought they had to see this planet again, they'd treat it a little better.

Did I Make A New Year's Resolution? I Made A New Year's... | Dec 29th. at 2:31:01 pm EST |

Lughaidh (Burleson, Texas US) | Age: 42 - Email |

Did I make a New Year's resolution? I made a New Year's resolution this year. I'd made resolutions before that I'd kept for a period of time but blew them off later, and made some that I didn't bother making an attempt with. But the one I made this year I pirated from Mary Anne in a previous post: I hereby give up New Year's resolutions. My life isn't static enough to focus on one thing I 'resolved' to do at mid-Winter. I am still resolved to better myself in any way I can, to tread lightly upon the Earth, and (hopefully) benefit those I meet in some way.

Emerald (Fort Lauderdale, Florida US) | Age: 19 |

I--like so many people this New Years I hope--will be quitting smoking as my resolution. I'm not a heavy smoker but I really shouldn't smoke at all, no one should.

First Of All...i'm Not Fat, I Just Have A Couple Love... | Dec 29th. at 2:17:23 am EST |

Wade White (Menlo, Iowa US) | Age: 23 - Email |

First of all...I'm NOT fat, I just have a couple love handles and low self estem. However, I'm quite attractive. So, my resolutions would be to say daily affirmations for my self-esteem. And lose my "spare tire" and muscle-up! I'm also gay, so if anyone would like to network (or web-weave) with me, please E-Mail me and we'll talk...

Haven't really thought about it, I am just waiting for my New year before the new year! (I turn 23 on Dec 30th, ah a Pecti-wittan born through the 12 days of yule!) But My plans for this year are big, get a job, pay off old debts, become a successful voice in the online and offline pagan community and hopefully see where the path takes me, as i go along helping others.
