What Would You Like to See at The Voice?

By most measurements, TWV is a very successful site. YET, it is always in a constant state of change. This week we ask "What if YOU Ran the Witches' Voice - What would you change? In fact, feel free to post ANY suggestions that you may have related to this web site, its look, feel, design, content or tone... We have literally hundreds of ideas but would love to hear yours. Why? Because TWV has been built on your suggestions since day one... It's time to ask again! Kindly, keep your suggestions constructive.

| I Think I Would A Page With Basic Information For Beginners Or... | Aug 31st. at 3:10:03 pm EDT |

| Jessica Gunter (Watertown, New York US) | Age: 17 - Email |

I think I would a page with basic information for beginners or people just curious in learning about it. I my self am a beginner and I've found myself jumping from page to page trying to learn what could be put on one page as an introduction. I know there are a lot of young people becoming interested in wicca and most of us dont know the the terms you use in certain titles. Perhaps adding a glossary of terms for us new guys could help in our learning. I personally have found it difficult, in general, learning about wicca due to lack of basic information for those interested in just learning more. I'm sure that with a beginneres guide more young people would become interested, perhaps making the world a better place for the future.

| Leimu (orivesi, Finland) | Age: 16 - Email |

Hello there :) First I would like to say that Witches' voice is indeed a wonderful site - in my opinion best of the world! I especially like the look, as it's conservative (so you can view the pages at work withoyut your boss asking any questions), doesn't take long to load, and still is very beautiful and "pagan" in nature (mostly thanks to the pen6tacle graphics)... What I would change - I would add a book reviews section, where people could post reviews of books, Amazon style. I would also add a witchcraft course or two, of different traditions - I'm sure there are some people willing to write/publish one, and thousands of people seeking for them! I would also add chat pages. There should be more than one chat room, though, because there are so many visitors... but I'm sure the chat rooms would be highly popular, and not much trouble! I love your wonderful work, thanks for it!

| barry aka skyeyes (homewood , Illinois US) | Age: 43 - Email |

merry meet wren and fritz- if i ran the witches voice, i would change nothing, unless a majority of useres and visitors requested it. i would leave the present set up as it is, and keep it going until visitor input from enough members, requested it. this is the community's page, and there would be no changes unless the comminuty wanted it. i would be the caretaker of our webpage. the international community. this is our vital link to each other. granted; changing with time time is a neccesary thing. but i would would maintain the current standing of the voice as it is in any case.

| I Would Like To Change The Look. There Should Be Lots More... | Aug 31st. at 8:11:13 am EDT |

| Reetta Pirinen (siilinjarvi) | Age: 15 - Email |

I would like to change the look. There should be lots more colours, and things that make wicca/pagan-pages look like wicca/pagan-pages; animals, symbols and flowers. But not too much! they look nice as bullets, backgrounnds.... Thenx u have great sites!!

| Well... First Off More Truth In What The Two Say. Wren States... | Aug 31st. at 12:09:43 am EDT |

| Tracy (White Plains, New York US) | Age: 22 |

Well... First off more truth in what the two say. Wren states in the feature section for Aug.27- Sept.3rd "Wren was a very happy witch" And then some where else cannot find it but no its true, Wren says something like I am not a witch. In Homepage 7/16/2001 it is to much of a photo gallery of Wren. That serves no purpose but to serve up personality and offers nothing for witchcraft. In the feature section for Aug.27- Sept.3rd under Secrets Of Inner Circle click on click on here. Elizabeth Barrette talks about how to set up a pagan group, not enough meat for a toy doll to feed on. You would need hundreds of ideas in detail about how to do it like study guides, legal aspects etc. Provide a link at side or bottom for online wicca course short and long version. Just because you can find one searching people aren't doing that. In the sea of links they never open up door. Will you see when Isis plays, and rages through the maze.

| John (Pietermaritzburg, South Africa) | Age: 27 - Email |

To be honest, nothing. I might not always agree with viewpoints expressed at witchvox but i don't see anything wrong with the way it is run. I suppose the best i could say is keep adding on more info and improving the service.

| juniper (rochester, New York US) | Age: 45 - Email |

I agree with many others...the dark backgrounds are sometimes difficult for me to read.
Otherwise...this is one of the best sites I visit. I surf in at least once a day and I especially enjoy the "Wren's Nest" for it's Pagan perspective on the news.
As a reference library clerk I often recommend your site to patrons looking for more information on paganism and witchcraft. After many years of dealing with the frustration of missing books, it's a blessing to have reliable available information right here.
Keep up the good work, your efforts are well appreciated!

| Just A Couple Of Things: 1. White (or Light) Backgrounds With Dark... | Aug 30th. at 3:38:47 pm EDT |

| JF (Austin, Texas US) | Age: 25 |

Just a couple of things:
1. White (or light) backgrounds with dark text. Like many, I find dark backgrounds pretty jarring to read. I sometimes have to take a break while reading since my eyes begin to ache. I don't mind if the front splash page is black, but I'd prefer the rest to be lighter.
2. More group pictures - I love the pictures of people that are posted on the main splash page. Would it be possible to start archiving those somewhere (and include ones that didn't make the splash page) so people could go look at them?
3. Navigation is sometimes tricky - and I'm not sure how to make it cleaner, but I think it could be done. Maybe have a site map that is linked to from every page?
4. More Neopagan perspectives besides Wicca and Witchcraft. I realize this is partially because you most often get Wiccan or Witch perspectives from readers and contributors. Also, though, part of this is the site name. I think it tends to make some Neopagans, who may *not* practice Witchcraft as part of their religion, feel like this site isn't really "theirs".
Obviously, the name won't change, but a larger effort to represent the other religions would be appreciated. Most particularly, on the "Neopagan Newbie" page which is heavily Wiccan/Witch oriented, and often lumps people into Wiccan, Witch, or "other" categories. Perhaps be a bit more specific about the "other" categories? I'd love to see FAQs for some of the specific religions other Neopaganism - I know, for example, that FAQs on Asatru and Druidry can be pretty easily found. Depending on whether you consider Reconstructionist religions to be Neopagans, there are a good number of FAQs about them, too. At the very least, include a prominent link to the "Trad Profiles..." from the Neopagan basics page.
I guess that's it for now. Like some others, I don't particularly care about the "Cats" page, but I don't think that removing it would magically produce more articles. :)
Hope that helps, JF

| Merry Meet All- The First Thing That I Would Do Is Send... | Aug 30th. at 10:55:24 am EDT |

| Cory (Panama City, Florida US) | Age: 43 - Email |

Merry Meet All-
The first thing that I would do is send the ENTIRE current staff on a long, well-deserved vacation; they work their butts off {insert image of staff sitting around in spa robes...LOL!}.
Here are some other ideas that I've had:
Printable $$$-off coupons for boxes of tissues--can't tell you how many times I've sat at my computer and wept, both tears of joy and tears of sorrow.
Easier-on-the-eyes text...sorry, it's dramatic as it is, but after a while, my eyes feel like they're going to bleed if I stay too long.
Navigation...I get lost in there sometimes, too.
Addys and SPAM...our local group had their addresses harvested from here (as well as Pagan Profiles) and sent unwanted spam...wish there was something that could be done about this, but as it stands now, we just have to wait for that big Karmic wheel to roll around.
Other than these items, I think that the entire "big picture" is great! Thanks to all for the excellent job, hard work, and many, many hours that you put into this site...bless you all!!!

| I Think Your Site Is Excellent! One Of The Best I've Seen... | Aug 30th. at 2:02:50 am EDT |

| Big John (South Amboy, New Jersey US) | Age: 40 |

I think your site is excellent! One of the best I've seen on the web. The articles are well written and researched, the writing is fresh, and care is taken to cover all points of view. Perhaps my favorite aspect is the lack of commercial advertising. A very welcome change these days.
As far as changes go, I agree with some of the other posters that red on a black background is hard on the eyes. I have a lot of experience with computers and I've found that bright green or amber works best with a black background. I also prefer san serif typefaces like Arial. I also find them easier on the eyes.
A photo gallery is also a good idea. Certainly include the weekly cover photos, but there is also room for other event photos, and perhaps even some Pagan art. Even a sound gallery could be added with music clips from events, etc.
Whatever changes you make can only add to a wonderful site. Keep up the good work!

| It's Time Wren And Fritz That You Moved Completely From The Limelight... | Aug 30th. at 1:38:35 am EDT |

| Williow (Saint Petersburg, Florida US) | Age: 27 |

It's time Wren and Fritz that you moved completely from the limelight, to much is coming from your thought stream and your hand picked people. No more Wren rants and Fritz rants give that space to other teen and adult wiccians and other pagans. Let this be done by people you do not choose but by others who are willing to deal peacefully. To much is resting on you, for whatever reason you could not continue the ship would sink. You Fritz and Wren have created a Hollywood occult image for yourselves because of the popular Homepage. This has resulted in most people not wanting to challange you and given you thoughts of "everything is pretty much ok". 1. Info. on how to start teen clubs in school, details. Students and adults to play drums, harps, flute for classmates. 2. Set up a healing service for Friday and Saturday nights and Holidays. 3. Give link on sidebar for message board. And many other things...........D
