| Thank You Rhiannon Gwendolyn For The Most Interesting And Amusing Comment I... | Dec 21st. at 5:57:30 pm EST |

| Ariel (San Rafael, California US) | Age: 39 - Email |

Thank you Rhiannon Gwendolyn for the most interesting and amusing comment I have heard so far. (See previous posting) Is there anything Nostradamus didn't know?;) Seriously, I feel that there is global transformation afoot, and these events are the beginning of this change. Where we will end up is still undetermined, but it seems wise to me to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. Change is always scary, but an inevitable part of life. I believe we as community and also as individuals possess the tools to survive this birthing process, and our efforts have the potential to produce the "best" mentioned above.

| I Agree With Some Of The Other Postings; We Shouldn't Really Waste... | Dec 21st. at 4:40:36 pm EST |

| Mike (Warren, Michigan US) | Age: 14 - Email |

I agree with some of the other postings; we shouldn't really waste much time on this issue. But since you asked.... I'd just like to remind everyone here at WitchVox about what President-Elect George W. Bush said concerning the freedom of Witches in the United States. He publicly stated on Good Morning America, June 24, 1999, that he respected the First Amendment's freedom of religion, but then went on to say "I don't think witchcraft is a religion." There have been numerous instances where he has discriminated against Wiccans, and quite frankly, I worry about our future with him as President! I agree with Ms. Akins-Becker, we should speak out against this peacefully.
If you need proof, or want to get even angrier at Bush, go to http://www.theblessedbee.com/georgebush.htm. I thank you for your time.

| I Really Don't Think That We Should Waste Our Valuable Time Whining... | Dec 21st. at 2:15:36 pm EST |

| Goldie (Winchester, Virginia US) | Age: 21 |

I really don't think that we should waste our valuable time whining about this. Yes, I am a Democrat, and yes, Bush isn't a strong leader, but what can we do? Instead of wasting time wishing and hoping for another Watergate to take him down, we need to work with what we have. We can't wait for the next four years to be over with. Already oil drilling in the northwest has gotten me worried, and we need to be working against that and for alternative energy, rather than wasting any more energy on a corrupt beaurocracy. We need to keep a watchful eye out for any threats to minority rights and the environment. If we want something done, it will get done, no matter how hard it is. I intend to live my normal life for the next four years, and keep Bush from screwing up too bad in office. And for all you Dems out there: keep in mind that this can be a positive experience. The parties have strayed too far from their bases and this loss will help the Dems realize this. These two parties were supposed to be opposite sided of a coin, but that coin seems to have fallen into a fire and melted into an indistinguishable blob. The indecisiveness of the voters signifies the existence of the Republicrat party, and we need to change that. And if I ever see another Dem talking about making abortion illegal, getting rid of affirmative action, or instituting Christian prayer in school, I'll jump out a window (martyr for the cause, lol).

| Although I Fear What Bush May Try To Do While In Office... | Dec 21st. at 10:23:26 am EST |

| Sabrina Akins-Becker (Woodbridge (S of DC), Virginia US) | Age: 27 - Email |

Although I fear what Bush may try to do while in office, I am hoping that the even-ness of the political power in Congress will keep things in moderation. When I heard about Barr's antics last year, I didn't hesitate to call & e-mail my Congressional representatives. If I hear of Bush trying something, I will do so again. We must become a vocal segment of the population - but we must voice our concerns *respectfully*; coming off as angry religious fanatics does nothing for us, and helps those who would see us disempowered.

| Well, I Think America Needs To Give Bush A Chance, Who Knows... | Dec 21st. at 4:07:13 am EST |

| Michelle (Dahlonega, Georgia US) | Age: 20 - Email |

Well, I think America needs to give Bush a chance, who knows, he could suprise us all. This year's election will be remembered and read about forever, and I can't wait to hear what historians will say about it. I think that the whole legal mess that occured shows to what extent the government has contorted itself. If the people in power would stop being so power-hungry and returned the government to a Constitutional state, everyone would be much better off. The Libertarian party could do so much in Washington, and I just hope that people wake up soon and take a look at what's going on.

| With The Current Split In Congress, Mr. Bush Will Have A Hard... | Dec 20th. at 8:22:36 am EST |

| Timber (Charlevoix, Michigan US) | Age: 34 - Email |

With the current split in Congress, Mr. Bush will have a hard time getting anything on his agenda done. This is a good thing, IMHO. I do not like his views on the environment, the military, or abortion. His opinion of Wicca is a concern, but he can't put it into practice. He would need to gut the Civil Rights Act of 1964 first. This is not likely since there are too many African-Americans, Hispanics, Women, Buddhists, etc. in the country. Then, to withstand the First Amendment challenges, he must pack the Supreme Court with Justices who are more conservative than any already there. Not likely to happen with the current Senate.
I am not worried about my religion. I am worried about the environment, women's rights, unneccessary military buildup, and the economy.

| Amberfire (Fargo, North Dakota US) | Age: 36 - Email |

Well, I was not too impressed with either candidates. I don't think that either one will be too, good for the country. However, I am happy that the whole thing is finished finally! I think that we (as a country)need to rethink the whole electoral college thing. I think that we should just elect the president with the popular vote.
It is ridiculous to think that our votes don't really count. I did not like Mr. Bush's father when he was in office. I also, do not think that I will like this President Bush either. (But, for now I will hold that opinion back until he actually takes office.

| Sine Nomine (Unnamed - for now) (Myrtle Beach, South Carolina US) | Age: 26 |

Back in the late eighties a comedian said, "We've picked nothing but losers for the past 200 years. I thought Nixon and Carter were the bottom of the barrel; but here comes Dan Quayle to show that if you lift up the barrel..." My reaction is that someone started *digging* underneath the barrel to find both Mr. Bush and Mr. Gore. Seems we've continued the legacy of incompetence.
This can turn into a volley of insults in a big hurry, so I'll stop here.
Most people said that it seemed like a choice for the lesser of two evils. At any rate, I didn't vote for either of them.
BTW, I'm a bit surprised I don't see any mention of the Libertarian party in this discussion.

| It Was A Strange Campaign. Bush, The Candidate Who Cheated To Get... | Dec 19th. at 11:18:57 pm EST |

| Merryweather (Saint Augustine, Florida US) | Age: 65 |

It was a strange campaign. Bush, the candidate who cheated to get into the National Guard (and then went awol for a year) was proclaimed the supporter of the military. Gore, on the other hand, actually went to Vietnam (as an army journalist). He was portrayed as someone who was somehow against the military.
Bush, a self-described party boy until his 40s, campaigned on "taking responsibility" and "upholding moral values" against straight-arrow Gore.
Then, after Gore won the most electoral votes and the most popular votes in the rest of the country, and when the vote in Florida was too close to call (a tiny fraction of 1% difference) Bush was portrayed as the winner, and Gore as the whining loser. It is almost as if a spell was working (or a very good advertising machine).
I think we had best all get together frequently during the coming years and do "protect the environment" spells and "protect us against the Supreme Court" spells. We are going to need them.

| It's A Pool With Few Fish, All Of Them Sharks. I Think... | Dec 19th. at 8:21:40 pm EST |

| angeleno (Redwood City, California US) | Age: 54 - Email |

It's a pool with few fish, all of them sharks.
I think Governor Bush shows a mediocre mind. I think his manner of appointment is shameful. The shame is the Supreme Court's not Dubya's. I can't fault a man for running and playing the game hard. I do fault the Court, and the guy who appointed the idiots who, wait a second, wasn't that Dubya's daddy? O O!
I dislike his putative comment that Witchcraft is not a religion and shouldn't be encouraged. However, we can live without his encouragement. Wiping out The Craft is like cleaning up jello with a hammer. It just spreads further.
My hope, and expectation, is that we will return a Democratic Congress in two years time and thereby hold the fort until we can get rid of Dubya. Maybe, just maybe, the Demos will find a better candidate.
I truly fear for The Republic and the country I love, but I've seen worse in my time and we got through. My consolation is that if you add Gore and Nader votes we get a moderate majority for liberal policies.
But hell, Maybe Strom Thurmond will croak, the democratic governor will appoint a democrat and the Senate will go Democratic. That would at least prevent the appointment of any more conservatives to the Court.
So my advice to my Sisters and Brothers is VOTE and WORK for change.

| I Think That It's About Time This Fiasco Was Over. I Don't... | Dec 19th. at 3:52:09 pm EST |

| Richard Gant (Northern Kentucky University, Kentucky US) | Age: 29 - Email |

I think that it's about time this fiasco was over. I don't like George W. Bush, Jr and I can't say I'm happy he won. But, on the other hand, I didn't like Al Gore either. I'd be equally as annoyed if *he* had won, so it doesn't really matter either way. Now we just need to get over it, and remember that who the President is has (or shold have) very little bearing on whether or not we live a good life.

I personally can't see changing such a good prediction in any way. I believe it has come forth as truth.
