Question of the Week: 40 - 5/7/2001 What is Your Guilty Little Secret? Fess Up! What are you hiding? Do you watch 'Survivor'? Do you even watch reruns of the ORIGINAL 'Survivor'? Still have your Barbie dolls-and still change their outfits once in a while? Collect stamps? Think David Cassidy of The Partridge Family is still the babe of the century? Tell everyone that you 'never really watch television', but you're really clocking in some impressive miles with the remote control every week? Hate Celtic music (gasp!) Have a crush on someone? Don't recycle your plastics? This is your chance to come clean and tell all. (In the interest of fair disclosure: Fritz has the DNA of a sugar ant. He has to have his bowl of ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie chaser every night and he only eats a vegetable about three times a year-and then only if it can be dipped in melted butter. Wren liked Duran Duran before it was cool to like Duran Duran. Of course, it has NEVER been cool to like Duran Duran, so this is a really brave confession on her part. im very vengeful but appear to be carefree, people think im sweet and really im very intolerable and bitchy, i dont like people that much, but go out of my way to make them happy.. go figgure.. then i hate my self for doing it.. im in love with my vibrator.. to bad men arnt equiped that way < |

1). There is nothing wrong with liking Duran Duran. Quality music is hard to come by. 2). Spiders scare me, and I have nightmares about them. Also along the sleep line, I sleep with a teddybear that I recieved when I was 10. 3). Road Rage is a normal occurance. If I'm not speeding, check my pulse. 4). I'm a band geek, and proud of it! 5). I too love Voyager and any other Trek Kind of thing. In fact, I'm watching it now! augh, Nelix is leaving! 6). I cry sooo easily, even at dumb tv comericals! |

I take my parents lighters to light my candles and incense, but only ones they aren't using. I also have to hide the smell of incense and the candle flame all the time if they're home. |

MM! #1) I avoid spiders like the plague. I know, they're the creatures of the Goddess... but try telling that to a tiger bent on eating a human. I'm afraid to smash one with a baseball bat, the last time I did such it ran up the bat! ;_; #2) I am a fledgling road-rager. People who cut me off, speed, pass me, slow down, or don't use their signals will instigate an unstoppable bout of cursing in every language and fashion imaginable. If they piss me off badly enough, I follow them around and honk my horn profusely until they whip out the cell phone and dial #911. #3) When I'm walking across the street and a car doesn't use their FREAKING turn signal and turns into me, I start a riot. #4) Air-raid / tornado sirens freak me out. #5) I yell and scream at my computer if it starts flipping out. I have come close to hurling it all down a stairwell. #6) I'm generally passive and peaceful (lol, honest!), but if I'm angered enough, I can become extremely coldhearted, calculating, and spiteful. #7) I hate it when I'm mad and start crying during an argument. #8) I like to sleep a lot. #9) Fluffy bunnies get on my nerves. #10) Enya MIDI's blaring on the background of a regurgitated beginner-Wicca page are worse. #11) Bigots REALLY tick me off, especially racists. I (or my friends) restrain myself from knocking the piss out of them. #12) I never talk about my mother, except around people I absolutely trust. If someone brings up the subject, I block them off. It's a painful event concerning her and my entire family. Please don't ask. #13) 9;2;2 is my name. My alternative name is PsYcHoTiC. ;) |

*I* LOVE Duran Duran, but only the early-to-mid '80s Duran Duran. This is no secret to anyone that knows me -- I am a obsessive -- actually it goes way past obsessive -- REM fan. I LOVE Michael Stipe. For the past ten years I have wanted to make a pilgrimige to Athens, GA. I planned my 1999 vacation around their tour and would do it again. I have no problem with taking a day off just to buy their new album (the new one, Reveal, is out on May 15 -- Woo-Hoo!!), but I won't be doing that this time around. In 1996, I bought a new stereo (my old one had died) on the day New Adventures in Hi-Fi came out so I could listen to the CD on something decent. I sleep with a stuffed hippo my German host father gave me in 1987. I am terrifed of bees, wasps, hornets and such. I know bees polinate flowers and all that, but I would be perfectly happy if all bees, etc. would just disappear. I am an AVID fan of the tv show MASH. I record the syndicated shows every night -- I currently have 12 tapes full of MASH shows. I am a Doc Marten-a-holic. I have thirteen pairs in my closet and have anohter pair on the way. I hate my job (that, again, is no secret). Katharine Hepburn is my hero. I have had a crush on Humphrey Bogart since I was 16 years old There are many, many more (really!), but I won't go into them. |

Well, I have several little secrets, but none of them are particularly dirty - just maybe a little odd... I love science fiction/fantasy, and can frequently be found in Borders, wasting away 6 to 8 hours at a time devouring some silly SF/F novel. I also love scifi shows, particularly x-files and star trek (all versions, but particularly Voyager - which makes me something of an oddity even among trekkies!). I get terrible road rage, and am certain that people who cut me off, drive too slow, or otherwise disturb my driving routine are doing it specifically to piss me off.(A favorite bumper sticker of mine reads: anyone who drives slower than me is an idiot, and anyone who drives faster than me is a manic! :) ) I have colossal body image issues, and am easily sucked in to the newest trend - i even once tried herbal breast enhancement pills (they didn't work). I don't believe in deities or an immortal soul/spirit/self. I like animals much, much better than people. There are others, too, but they'll have to wait for another day... thanks for sharing, everyone - maybe we'll all feel a little less isolated once we browse some of these postings! Something that the people who know me will never believe ... I love children and want to become a teacher. I am an outspoken advocate of the baby muzzle and my best friend has already told me that though I may Wiccan her children, I will never be allowed to babysit. Wouldn't she be surprised :) I love women, but am too frightened to be in a relationship. I tried it once and it scared the hell out of me. My sister is a lesbian and the thought of another one in the family would drive my father over the edge. I'm in love with a figment of someone else's imagination. I'm afraid of beetles ... all kinds of beetles, not just the big ugly ones. And Steel Magnolias makes me cry |

MY Dirty little secret.......... Well, I have a Playgirl in my magazine stack, though I hardly ever look at it. I eat too much fattening, greasy foods. I appear to be "nice" and "innocent" but deep down, I feel this urge to get a tattoo and ride away on a motorcycle.... I swear too much. I have cut people off when driving(Even though I don't mean to and feel bad when they honk at me.) I talk to my animals and kiss all of them... I LOVE Ioan Gruffud (The hottie from "Horatio Hornblower" on A&E) I am additited to chocolate. I HATE doing housework. I LOVE romance novels, especially the "Harem" genre, which is facinating to me. I LOVE the computer game "The Sims" and have all of the attachements, including House Party. I want to get married to a rich man who loves me. (hey, let's face it; I was NOT born to be Middle-Class Hmmmm.......I think that's it! |

1. I am a QVC addict. Don't ask me why. 2. I come from a family that is 2/3 democrats and 1/3 republicans... My first memory of poltics was hearing my dad yell at my mom because she was NOT voting for Nixon and he said her vote would negate his and he might as well not vote at all. Yelling and politics have gone hand in hand for me ever since. Go figure. I am an ardent democrat (I truly do not believe a Pagan can be a republican - a pagan republican is like a fish with feathers, it just doesn't work or make sense). I only pretend to understand the lunacy and obviously defective genetic materials that permeate the republicans in my family. 3. I love expensive imported cars, really nice clothes (including ritual clothes), great wine, exclusive luxury vactions, room service and chanel perfume. 4. I cannot stand the smell of 99% of the incense out there. 5. I always wanted to be a cheerleader. 6. I love to drive really fast. 7. My favorite alcoholic beverage is Myers dark rum and Diet Dr. Pepper (tall glass, lots of ice). 8. I love getting a suntan even though I know it is bad for me. 9. I can eat an entire box of girl scout cookies by myself with very little guilt. 10. I use caller ID to screen my calls (even people I know). 11. I do not suffer fools well - and it shows. 12. Well......... I'm deathly afraid of spiders. (that's actually not such a secret and I'm getting better, sort of) I talk to myself....all the time. I even playact, pretending to be someone else..ehem..... I had a huge crush on Brad Pitt (okay, everyone knew and like I'm the only one!) Now I really like Heath Ledger.....hehe (I still love you too, Brad)and used to buy tons of magazines just for that. I finally stopped. (okay, mostly) Sometimes I'm still afraid of the dark even though I love it. I love water, but BIG water sometimes makes me nervous to swim in. My first time in the ocean, I kept thinking some ooky thing was going to come up from the depths to get me. Eventually I got over it and had a grand time. (okay I didn't go too, too far from the shore.) Other things......I can't tell you here, it's a family site....=P |

Well Wren, the only thing I can say is that you are not alone. I to am an old "Duranie". It is MY personal belief that it has and ALWAYS will be cool to like Duran Duran..John was my favorite. My girldfriend and I even staged a marriage ceremony so that she could marry Nick and I could marry John. Of course we were 13 at the time but we thought it was great! I have not spoken to her for a very very long time now, I wonder if she remembers.. |
