Question of the Week: 56 - 8/27/2001

What Would You Like to See at The Voice?

By most measurements, TWV is a very successful site. YET, it is always in a constant state of change. This week we ask "What if YOU Ran the Witches' Voice - What would you change? In fact, feel free to post ANY suggestions that you may have related to this web site, its look, feel, design, content or tone... We have literally hundreds of ideas but would love to hear yours. Why? Because TWV has been built on your suggestions since day one... It's time to ask again! Kindly, keep your suggestions constructive.

Change? My socks, atleast once, but aside from that, nothing! I am continually impressed by your site, and egad! the research that Wren does! How on earth does she ever find the time? Good work, Family!

| First Let Me Say, I Love Your Web Site. The Only Way... | Aug 27th. at 6:58:36 pm EDT |

| Kelly RedWitch (Levittown, New York US) | Age: 34 |

First let me say, I love your web site. The only way to possibly improve is to give readers MORE ! More stories, pictures and info. I would like to see more about how other witches/wiccans/pagans celebrate their lives and the world around them. I hope you realize the great service you are doing for the community. Keep up the great work !

If I ran the Witches' Voice I would make the "table of contents" at the beginning of the page into individual hyperlinks. Other than that I think the site molds itself to its community's needs very well.

I find the Witches' Voice very, shall we say, "Wiccanized". As a Pagan of two decades who is not and has never been Wiccan, and whose path is totally uninfluenced by Wicca I think it might be a good idea to broaden the scope of the Witches' Voice to include more non-Wiccan oriented material. I think people - both those curious about taking up Paganism and non-Pagans - should be aware that the Neo-Pagan faiths, ie., Wicca and Modern Witchcraft, are not the only forms of Paganism.

| Like Everything Else In The Pagan Community, This Website Is Subject To... | Aug 27th. at 4:30:28 pm EDT |

| David Aquarius (Renton, Washington US) | Age: 42 - Email |

Like everything else in the Pagan Community, this website is subject to the Will of Nature. Mother Nature dictates that all thing must evolve or cease to exist. Having said that, I must conclude that after four years of devoted readership and attention, I find that this site evolves as it should. Change will come when change is made. I trust Fritz, Wren, Peg, Diotema, and the rest will do what is necessary to keep the dream alive. They have always asked for suggestions and never imposed their particular bend to this living 'tree'.
Like my father has always told me (too late for that television in 1968, but I digress)
" If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Thanks to you, Witches Voice, for your years of service and hopefully many more to come. You have been wonderful and more than patient with the likes of us.
May the blessing of the Mother be upon you and all of your kin,
May the Gods and Goddesses grant you your dearest wish.
Blessed Be,

| I Love This Website, And Reading The Weekly Updates Make My Mondays... | Aug 27th. at 2:32:37 pm EDT |

| Jane Spacebat (Edinburgh, Scotland UK) | Age: 20 - Email |

I love this website, and reading the weekly updates make my mondays better. I'd try to feature more on festivals in countries other than the US, but I can see that more Americans send in articles etc, so it's a lot easier to include 'local' (for you guys) events. I hope I can try to write something about one of the festivals here in Scotland sometime. Message boards might be nice, so folk could ask questions and get queries sorted out. But on the other hand, you guys provide links to facilities of this sort, so there's probably no need in doing the same thing here. Like someone else suggested, a gallery of images would be nice, but space-consuming. And it's great that there are no ads. I hate pop-up ads with an irrational hatred. I think pretty much everything is already covered. I like the fact that you try to bring together loads of different traditions, and many peoples' opinions, instead of preaching. And I also like the mentions of Mac use....too many people (myself included, because I'm a poor student) use PCS.

| I Love Witchvox So Much It Would Be Hard To Change Anything... | Aug 27th. at 1:44:31 pm EDT |

| Arthanea (Old Town, Maine US) | Age: 22 - Email |

I love WitchVox so much it would be hard to change anything! I liked the earlier suggestion of a picture gallery - maybe it could be just a few photos which changed weekly. I love the picture on the front page. I've been visiting WitchVox for several years now and it just keeps getting better. I love Wren's stories and thoughts at the beginning, they keep me coming back every week. And I'm so glad you don't sell advertising. I know this must be very expensive and time consuming, but it is nice to be able to do anything these days where you aren't being brainwashed with Ads.
I think the content is a good mix of Pagan and Wiccan issues. You seem to always be able to ignore the fluffy/goofy stuff that flies around the rest of the Pagan web, while having a delicious amount of new content Weekly! Truly Amazing!
If anything, I would ad more informaition about the earth, nature, and maybe something about Pagans doing good for Mother Nature. I don't know if it would be possible, but I would like to see a "Volunteers Needed" section added to the Witches of the World. Then people who were trying to organize a beach or forest clean up could post a notice that they needed people to come help out.
You are truly an amazing resource (I know I said amazing twice - but you really are totally amazing!) and a nice place to come and visit. After years of visiting here I am always able to find something totally that is always totally wonderful and engrosing.
THANK YOU WITCHVOX!!!

I'd make it less "dark" and more organic (nature) looking. Deep red color seems satanic.

| Belakane (Fayetteville, North Carolina US) | Age: 21 - Email |

Hmmm...I wouldn't really call my idea a "change", since the vox is a wonderful site as is, rather, I would call this more of a suggestion. If I ran the vox, I would take the time (and it would be a LONG time, and a LOT of work/dedication) to get to know each and everyone who posts an email, listing, comment, whatever, on the site. I would take perhaps 2 or 3 days, maybe a week, and just try to correspond with one person at a time, make some new friends and such. Ya never know, there may be some fabulous people out there who are just too afraid to post anything to the site, people who just need a little TLC or constructive coaxing. Like I said, it would be a LOT of work, so I can see the reasons not to do it. At any rate, the vox is great, and keep up the good work! Goddess bless!

| Stan Wolf (Spokane, Washington US) | Age: 19 |

I would change the black backgrounds to lighter ones and get rid of all of those pictures... add message boards and witchvox email addreses and sell advertising. With the traffic you get think of the money you can make. You could retire fast.

| Jay Rufus (Tipperary, Ireland) | Age: 50 |

I know they eat up webspace BUT I'd love to see a gallery of the most beautiful of the photos you've had on the home page - they are such a delight, it's such a shame to see them only once!
