I AM AN YOUNG PAGAN AS WELL AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A VERY PATRIOTIC INDIVIDUAL AND WHENEVER TERRORISTS ATTACKS TAKE PLACE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD MY HEART IS SADDENED. THIS ATTACK HAS SPARKED MANY EMOTIONS IN ME AND I CANT HELP BUT FEEL A GREAT AMOUNT OF RAGE, AND DISGUST. I, AS A SOLDIER AM HOPING FOR NOTHING BUT WAR ON THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK. AS A PAGAN THAT IS FAIRLY NEW TO THE PATH, DOES ANYONE BELIEVE I AM WRONG FOR WANTING BLOOD FOR BLOOD?

| I Don't Think Words Can Express My Grief, But I Will Try... | Sep 12th. at 10:08:51 am EDT |

| Anastasia Fortea (Las Vegas, Nevada US) | Age: 20 - Email |

I don't think words can express my grief, but I will try. I grew up in Indiana in a small town. I looked towards New York as the strength and pride of our nation. The statue of Liberty the proudly proclaims our freedom. The Financial District that makes helping other countries out possible. The WTC as a wonderful place for all.
I am a travel agent by occupation, I have always loved sending people to New York for their first time. Now as of yesterday all I could think of "Who did I send? Were they there? Did I say thank you for your business and friendship before they left?"
This has left a scar on my heart, and though in no way can I be accountable, I know, but I can't help but feel the grief from our nation. Whispering in the breeze today is of pain and confusion and loss.
I have never agreed with war, in my whole life. However today I have lost some of that niaveness. Never again will I question another declaration... For religion or freedom, the pain of loss drives the cause. I feel saddened by this. I feel the need to find the people at whatever cost.
Right now all I can say is this, May their souls be lifted and blessed in the next life to come. May the families find relief of grief in the goddess' hand. May we as a nation never take for granted another life as precious as their's was.
Blessed Be.

IT seem so unreal like we are looking at footage of another country and then you see the empire state building in the background. To think of all the people who lost thier lives and to to try to feel safe again, I only feel safe praying that the Mother is holding me and everyone close an tight.

| Because Of My Work, Much Of My Daily Life Is Focused On... | Sep 12th. at 9:53:15 am EDT |

| Caro (Philo, Illinois US) | Age: 28 |

Because of my work, much of my daily life is focused on social concerns, violence, and trauma. I'm in the habit of looking at horrible events and puzzling out an explanation that makes some sense to me, a way of thinking about our world that helps me understand the bigger picture.
Today, I find that I can't do this. I can't think about anything but the people trapped in the crumbling towers, the courage of the people who helped save themselves and others, and the sacrifice of the emergency workers who died. I can only see the personal, and not the political. And perhaps that is as it should be, for these attacks are deeply personal.
It's true that we live in a violent world, that we are a violent people. But we are also a people of creativity, ingenuity, and passion. My thoughts today have wandered far and wide, and along the way, I found some hope. That hope comes from knowing that this horror is not new. It is one day in a long history of barbaric acts in human society. But the unredeemable barbarism also somehow calls into being our grace and courage.

I just find it so ironic that the word "Islam" is Arabic for "peace." May the grace of Her hand pass over all affected. Ross xoox PS. Out of the most atrocious, wicked acts, something can be learnt, and some good can come out of it.

| Brighter Days To All...i Lost An Old Friend In Manhattan Yesterday... | Sep 12th. at 9:33:16 am EDT |

| Vaj Korsen (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania US) | Age: 33 |

Brighter days to all... I lost an old friend in Manhattan yesterday. He is missing and presumed dead. He was a stockbroker in NYC, he was from a family of Cuban Emigrants who came to America for freedom. He worked hard and long to become a succesful stockbroker. He lived the American dream. He was also a amateur Body-Builder and was a carpenter who often donated his services to Habitat for Humanity. He was also a practitioner of Santeria, who firmly believed in the spirits and Jesus Christ. I am FURIOUS that he is gone, and so many more are gone or missing. He NEVER had a bad thing to say about anyone. He always felt the best rule to live by was live and let live. Today is September 12th...on this day I was born in Weehawken, NJ..right across the river from New York City. As I grew up, I always remembered and looked for the World Trade Center's Twin Towers on the New York skyline. Even when I moved to Philadelphia, when I visited friends in NJ, i would always look for the great towers of my youth. Now I miss my big Cuban friend. I also miss my 2 giant steel friends on Vesey and Church Streets in Lower Manhattan's Financial district

| Yesterday Morning Seemed Like Any Other. I Woke Up, Got Dressed For... | Sep 12th. at 9:22:28 am EDT |

| Adrian, aka Amethyst_Panther (Maysville, Kentucky US) | Age: 18 - Email |

Yesterday morning seemed like any other. I woke up, got dressed for college, drank some juice, and watched the news. It seemed like any ordinary day. It was my boyfriend's nineteenth birthday, and that is all I really thought about.
After my first class, I had a girl come up to me to inform me of what had happened. At first, I didn't believe her. "You're just exaggerating it, " I said. Later, I knew the truth, for I watched in horror at the animosity let out on our country. I felt the tears spring from my eyes as I saw pictures of people jumping to their deaths from the World Trade Center building. I cried when I heard that over 200 fire fighters were killed in action. I was devestated, however, when I knew that over 10, 000 had lost their lives.
As a Wiccan, I am trying to deal with this in the best way I know how, by praying for the families, and for justice. Deep inside, I harbor a quiet anger, and all I want to do is find the lunatic that did this and make them suffer. However, I also know that violence does not beget violence.
No matter what religion someone is, they know that human life is a precious and sacred thing. Atheist, Buddhist, Wiccan, Christian, and so on...we all partake in religious activities to help us deal with our lives and to find guidance. We must all unite together and put aside petty differences, because no matter what we believe or who we are, we are still human beings.
I offer whatever healing energies I may send out, and I urge everyone else in the Pagan community to join forces with our prayers and healing powers. Love conquers all. I sincerely offer my humblest apologies to the families and friends out there who know not where their loved ones are, or if their loved ones have been injured and/or killed. We will fight this thing. We must unite. We have not yet begun to fight.
Bless'd Be to all, Amethyst_Panther

| There Is So Much To Say That Can Never Be Said. My... | Sep 12th. at 9:13:03 am EDT |

| Avalon (Baltimore, Maryland US) | Age: 20 - Email |

There is so much to say that can never be said. My senses are overwhelmed with the missery of the past days events. I know far too many people who have lost loved ones and their sorrow contines inside of me. It is not a time for anger, but a time for mourning and togetherness. A time to be thankfull that not more were killed and to enbrace our loved ones and let them know how much they mean to us. I can not begin to imagine life in those places that were attacked for the pain of those of us so far away is so great its hard to imagine a pain even greater. Today I send out many things. I ask the God and Goddess to keep watch over those still trapped and those in the ER's, I pray that they feel love, and that those who must pass on are able to pass peacefully. I ask the God and Goddess to help us all look forward and not regret what we couldn't do to change things and what we couldn't do to help, but help us to learn from one of the darkest gifts this country has ever seen. I ask also for karmatic law to be passed on those who are responsible for this hainious act of violence. I send out my love, health, and harmany to those all over the world who have felt the unrelenting pain of these events. I offer the world a shoulder to cry on and a loving embrace. We will never forget this disaster or those who have died. We should take this day to hold close those we still have with us.
Brightest of Blessings and all My Love, Avalon

| The Rochester Ny Chapter Of The Red Cross[1] Is Asking For... | Sep 12th. at 8:48:48 am EDT |

| Scott (Institute, West Virginia US) | Age: 27 - Email |

The Rochester NY chapter of the Red Cross[1] is asking for donations to it's relief fund as well as blood donations[2].
You can donate directly to them online[3], you can also you can make financial contributions though paypal's donation fund[4] or amazon.com's Red Cross relief fund[5]. Both paypal and amazon.com have stated that all proceeds from their relief funds will be donated directly to the Red Cross relief fund.
Also, CNN Live[6] has reported that help from those who are in or near the NYC Manhattan and Washington DC area is needed with rescue and cleanup operations. If you want to help, please contact the Red Cross, don't arrive unannouced. The disaster scene is unsafe, and you could accidently interfere with rescue efforts if you show up without first contacting the authorities to find out if you're needed.
Even if you've donated blood, please consider contributing to the Red Cross relief fund. The donations are tax deductible, but more importantly, they will insure that the current rescue and relief operations will have funding for needed supplies.
The Red Cross[7] cannot accept individual donations of supplies, but if you'd like to help, you can visit their website, or you can contact them directly[8].

| Since I Was Home From Work Yesterday, I Was Watching The News... | Sep 12th. at 8:48:47 am EDT |

| Stardragon (Bremerton, Washington US) | Age: 41 - Email |

Since I was home from work yesterday, I was watching the news when the second plane hit the building, I was stunned at the sight. then hearing the Pentagon was also bombed, I was totally horrified. I am a government worker and we are made fully aware on a daily basis how risky it is to work for the government. I work in a building in downtown Seattle and must go through security to enter it. It is not something most of us really think about, it is just part of our daily lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We all go to work on a daily basis without a thought to what could happen during the day. Comuters are rude to each other, we hurry along the street without a thought for another person and we often in our routines of life forget to stop and appreciate what the Goddess has granted us. It is a wonder to see how such a large nation can become such a tight community in times of crisis.
My the God and the Goddess bless all of our nation and the world as things are decided. May our leaders have enough sense and direction to handle the situation in the right way.
