Question of the Week: 15 - 11/13/2000

What are YOU Thankful For?

As we get together with family and friends at this time of the year (and at every time of the year), which people do you want to thank for making a meaningful difference in your life? (Why not surprise someone and thank him/her/them publicly right now and right here?) What lessons that came your way turned out to be blessings in disguise? How do you demonstrate your gratitude to the Earth and/or to your Gods/Ancestors for their continuing guidance and blessings?

I am thankful for the courage to live my life in the light of the Goddess. To wear my beliefs on the surface and not hide them away. I am thankful that even though my family has other beliefs they respect mine as well. Allowing me to enjoy life openly and honestly which is truley the Pagan way. Blessed Be.

I have a wonderful life, a Magickal husband and son, I have my dream job and my dream house...I am one of the luckiest people I know, and I am grateful every day of my life for the gifts of this life. The past several years have been like a dream, and even though we struggle through life financially and have yet to break the poverty line, we are fabulously rich in joy and contentment.

| I Am Thankful For The Gifts And Talents I Have Been Blessed... | Nov 20th. at 2:19:23 pm EST |

| Rev. Maya Ravensong (Council Bluffs, Iowa US) | Age: 28 - Email |

I am thankful for the gifts and talents I have been blessed with. I am thankful for the earth and all her bounty she gives.I am thankful for the teachers that have gone before me and left thier imprint on me and others. For without thier braveness to take the first step out of the broom closet, I would not be able to enjoy my life the way it is now. I am thankful for the love of my husband, children, family and friends, that abounds in my life, even through the worst times. I am thankful I have choosen a path of beauty in this life and not one of hatered. I am thankful for the people who currently take a stand for thier beliefs knowing the dangers that could be there. I am thankful for those who have taken on the task of networking Pagans around the world, fighting for our rights, and keeping us up on current events so we might have a strong voice. But most of all, I am thankful for being alive. I am thankful for the life experiences that I have been blessed with. I am thankful that I have a body that can sing with the sweetness of pleasure. That I have a mind that is sharp and clear and that my soul dances with merriment. Blessed Be

I am thankful for my freedom, friends, family, and my animals. Most importantly I am thankful for my love of Missy Thompson and the love for me even though she is mad at me at this time. All the people I know are helping me with the troubles that I am going through at this time whether they know it at this time or not.

| I Have Done A Lot Of Reflection This Season; More So Than... | Nov 20th. at 10:58:44 am EST |

I have done a lot of reflection this season; more so than usual. During this examination, I discovered that I have lots to be thankful for. So as Thanksgiving rolls around I will finally have something to bring to the table, if you'll pardon the expression.
First, I have to thank the Dieties - I may not always like it, but to have the chance to get up everyday and make a difference ... that's worth something. And I let Them know that I appreciate that chance. I *literally* stop and smell the flowers. I never let a day pass that I don't realize that life is precious and that it can all be lost in a blink. Having said that, there are people I thank for the way my life turned out (at least so far) Momma - my best friend and my inspiration Raven - my sister and confidante Whatever the situation, you are there. You share my joy and my pain. You hold me up when I can't stand on my own and propel me when I am ready to fly. You always nudge, but never push (even if you do administer the kick in the butt that I need every now and again). And you always seem to have just the right amount of tissues. I love you.
Gwyn & Pup - life's lessons hard learned. You forced me into my own skin and to find my own voice. From you, I learned that I am a person; that I matter. I will always remember you for that. Thank you.
And to all the little people who made this possible ... Seriously, thanks to those who work so diligently at making it easier: Mama Silver, Starhawk, Trish Talesco, Wren & Fritz - you have made it possible for so many. And to Victoria Bennett, the Sacred Well Congregation, Brandi Blackbear and the thousands & thousands whose names don't get public acknowledgement but fight nonetheless, even if it is nothing more than wearing your Pent openly in public. You give me hope and a reason to keep fighting.
Happy Holidays, everyone and Blessings for the new year!

I am most thankful for The Witches Voice and other sites like it, who post not only news of Pagans and the world of today, buut timely items such as "What Thanksgiving should reaally be" I don't believe most people are aware of their history and all the wrongs that were done to the Aboriginal Peoples of the World in the name of belief systems contrary to their own. I know as a Pagan Witch, explaining myself and my rituals at these times of the year can be very taxing to not only myself but to the rest of the commercial and greed-driven world. I am really thankful for everything in my life and am grateful to be able to share my traditions with the Pagan world through such web-sites as The Witches Voice. Blessed Be and thanks. Barb Vassar

Hi!;
What is there to be thankful for?
No longer being a family man, so I can let these commercial holidays fade into the following Week as quickly as possible.
Relatives are all dying off, so I won't have to attend Mormon clan gatherings, thank the Gods!
The kid is in his 30's, so he doesn't need a big spread laid out at my place. Let him do it at his own.
I don't do the "Mall" during the holiday Season. You would be surprised how much money is left for a New Year's bash!
Being thankful I can opt out of the commercial insanity. BB Tarostar
