To My Valentine

"A Loving Gift From Your Wife"
You gave me amber on the day you proposed, you knelt at my feet in conservatory and all around us white roses. On our wedding day you placed pearls around my throat. Yellow roses graced my bridal flowers, you said 'I love you!'
I wore jet when I kissed your cold lips and watched you drift away from me.
Red roses wept perfumed tears, lovely companions on your fiery journey.
All gone, all lost, winter had come so fast, so soon.
Rose at my door, your white rose, my Stewart.

I really do not have much to say at this point as I am doing work in his honor. I just would like to say we have lost a master of his art and a great man. He will never be forgotten. To his wife Janet, our love and prayers are with you in your time of loss. Know you have support. Thank you both for all you have done for all of us.

Your Light Will Always Shine Brightly

My heartfelt thoughts go out to Janet and Gavin and the rest of Stewart's Family.
Stewart and Janet Farrar were my mentors both in their many books and in person. I and the entire Pagan community will miss him dearly. It was my good fortune to have known him and learned from him. I only wish my time with him could have been longer. We shall remember him in our prayers, too. He is consorting with the Goddess now and he will return again. May his next life be as productive and fun as this one was. Blessed Be. Merry meet, Merry part and Merry meet again Stewart. We will miss you.

Although I never personally met Stewart Farrar, I felt that I came to know him through his writing. He and I were in a way travel companions on the road to Truth. Through his books I found wisdom I could not have found anywhere else. He was a wise guide to many a lonely solitary. We will all miss him.

In the Sky, a New, Bright Star Shines
Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at 02:18:32 (EST)
In the sky a new bright star shines -
Bathing us in loving light.
Once again, he leads the dancers
Moving moon-gilt, through the night.
Weaving, dancing, steps entrancing,
Merry meet and merry part:
Wind lifts incense curling skyward,
Balm upon each dancer's hearts.
Light our lives as we move onward,
May your mem'ry guide us well.
Thank you Stewart, for your wisdom
And your tales for us to tell.
Now at last, your soul flies freely,
Loosed from age and mortal pain.
Summerland is where we'll find you
When we meet you once again.
Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again!
Love and condolences to Janet, Gavin, and the rest of Stewart's family.

Janet, blessings, love and support to you and your household at this time.
I was blessed to meet you and Stewart in 1991 in Portland, Oregon as part of the eclectic pagan community and a women's group. It was wonderful to hear your stories and attend workshop and picnic with likeminded brothers and sisters. Both of you shared many treasures that weekend including your joy in the Craft, your learning, your senses of humor, and your wonderful spirit, and Stewart listened carefully and with obvious interest to many of us as well, tape recorder by his side. And what a delight when the visit led, much later, to meeting my beloved, who was holding down the fort while you were on tour at the time!
I feel confident that Stewart is blessing those he is near as well as those of us he has left; he is just around the next curve of the road, exploring and learning in his own bright way, waiting to share again. We are both greatly affected by his passing and you are in our thoughts.

Stewart's writings, with Janet, led me to the Path of the Witch. The Witches' Bible was the 1st book I ever found to speak of a religion I could belong to.It was like sparks going off in my brain when 1st I read his works.
On the day Stewart died,I dreamed of him.It was nothing spectacular. He spoke to me of spirituality in a low key way.I've never dreamed of someone I didn't know personally, much less an author I loved! No great revelations, just an easy guiding hand.I wish I'd known him in life.I will continue to read his words,
Take care of yourself,Janet

Stewart, a cat's warm lap
Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at 01:20:34 (EST)
I first had the privilege of meeting and getting to know Stewart and Janet at a pagan gathering in Leicestershire. Stewart of course was holding up the tent! Later on from that meeting Stewart gave me my first initiation into the Craft, performed with his bountiful and boundless love, at Herne's Cottage in 1989. Later on in 1990 I was invited to join their coven and lived with them for over the next three and a half years, understanding, learning, working, and then teaching. Thanks to Stewart, who taped his interviews from their American booksigning tours,I met my life partner when I came to the U.S. in September 1993. Stewart, friend to all cats when working at his computer, with a warm lap, I will miss you, friend, teacher, mentor. A light has gone from this plane, yet your candle still burns within the hearts of many, and through your books, of the many to come. Love, Tracey Cross.

Love to Janet and Gavin

I feel very inadequate trying to speak about a true master. My words will never be able to express how we all felt about Stewart Farrar, we were so lucky to have him. His writings will touch many generations of witches yet to come. I'm sad for our loss, but I'm so glad he was here to share his life with us. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Please know how much we all loved and respected Stewart.
Farewell and Thankyou Stewart!

I came into the Craft community too recently to have had the opportunity to meet Stewart Farrar, and I will always regret that. His books are some of the best I have read; they added immensely to my knowledge and practice.
My sympathy to those left behind, and Stewart: Blessings on your journey, and may we have the chance to meet another time around!

Althogh I never had the pleasure of meeting Stewart. He was were one of my most importent teachers. 15 Years ago a new and learning Witch happened upon a small book with tiny writing that changed his life. "A Witches Bible Complete". I still have that book and it is the cornerstone of my library. I have other books by Stewart and Janet as well as other great writers and treaure them also. That book has traveled all over the world with me. I always take it. I've had to have the cover reattached several times. Stewart, your words have conforted me, taught me, made me laugh, made me cry. Your contribution to me and others like me will never be forgotten. My heart and blessings go out to Janet and Gavin. Me and my family thank you for your gift of Stewart to us. You are in my thoughts and heart. Goodby old friend...

As a Pagan group we value the efforts of Stewart and Janet to teach others the way of their Tradition. It has been a wonderful learning experience to share in the knowledge of this brilliant couple, and it saddens us to see their light halved. We send our heartfelt Blessings To Janet and Gavin, during this stage of transition and to Stewart as he makes his passage to the Summerlands. May your lights once again unite in the hereafter and burn ever brighter.... Light and Love

What a Gentleman!
Monday, February 14, 2000 at 22:00:24 (EST)
Back in 1995, at my first Starwood, I took a writers class with Mr. Farrar. What at wonderful gentleman he was! There he sat, in one corner of the tent, on a camping chair, holding court! He was fun, lively, honest, interesting, intelligent and just wonderful! He will be greatly missed! But he will never be forgotten!!! I still have all my notes somewhere... Just have to dig them out! Blessings to all!
Walk With the God & Goddess

As an eclectic American witch I am deeply indebted to the wonderful works of the Farrars. I and my two pagan children mourn the passing of this man and offer our heart's love to those who will miss him now that he has crossed the veil. May the God/desses give us all the courage and strength to work as hard to help preserve the Craft!

May Light fill your passage into Summerland
Monday, February 14, 2000 at 20:16:47 (EST)
I would like to offer my thoughts and well wishes to Janet Farrar and to Gavin Bone for the passing of Stewart Farrar. I have read A Witches Bible, and The Witches Way, I also own one of their Videos. I respect and appreciate all of the hard work that the Farrar's have done for our community. The education and information they have passed on will always be valuable, and everlasting in my heart. I want to offer bright blessings to them all, and may Light be Stewart's path to the Summerland.
