Bright Blessings Witches of The World,
Break out the Mead!... What a month it has been so far! The Witches' Voice has become officially incorporated as the Witches' Voice Inc. in the state of Massachusetts... CyberPagans led by the incredible reporting of the folks at Texas Pagan Awareness Online analyze and rally behind the CyberPatrol issue... East Coast Pagans found out they get to experience P.S.G. in Ohio this year... Gina Smith of Good morning America apologizes (on radio) for her slanderous statement related to Earth based religions and cults. The Witches' Voice racks up 155, 000 hits after only 11 weeks online.
The Sucker Punch... On Thursday we got slapped with a major dose of reality... Our Internet service "provider" (ISP) labeled us a "Super User on Server 7" and is "excited by our growth" (read: they see a goldmine in usage charges). We immediately ran a spreadsheet on our usage charges based on our ISP's daily usage log... Rough calculations indicated that over 8 gigabyte of data will be "hit" or downloaded by those that check us out this month... As with most ISP's, they allow us 1 gig and then charge us 4 cents a meg after that... Anybody got a calculator? The horrifying fact is that we are staring down the barrel of a $350.00+ usage bill for the month of March and it looks like February will be close to $250.00 (we really hope we suck at math). For information as to how you can help keep this ship afloat, check out Join The Witches' Voice
Time to Move and Move Fast... Last week we cleared the Live Feedback forum and made plans to archive it every three days (it alone was eating up over 45 meg. a day). We have been shopping for a better ISP for over a month now and as of 4/14/97, the Witches' Voice will be hosted by TabNet (Thank you Tina at AvatarSearch for this timely tip). Our new ISP will allow us essentially unlimited file transfers per month and they feature some "wicked fast-world class" hardware. This change will take a couple of weeks to implement and will be transparent at your end... Witchvox.com will ALWAYS be at http://www.witchvox.com.

Our Cry for Help... We are officially in financial crisis mode and in order to keep your site that we call the Witches' Voice alive we must ask for your help. Wren and I handed over the entire accountable balance to the WLPA upon our departure this past December and started the Witches' Voice with over 1000 bucks of our own money and we keep feeding it. AND just like with our tenure with the WLPA we do this work for ZERO personal financial gain. Mercury goes retrograde this (Monday 4/14 @ 6:56pm). Even Air Bags are starting to look good to us now. Wren and I have been forced to take most of this past week to evaluate our situation and do some magic for the future of the Witches' Voice.
How You Can Help... Become a Sponsor of the Witches' Voice - by supporting the Witches' Voice you help to keep this website alive, help Witches of the World maintain their right to practice Witchcraft (last year the WLPA gave over $8, 000 bucks to cases like Iron Oak and Kerri Patavino), get deals on HOT WitchVox products (TBA) and a very cool looking sponsorship card. Even a book of stamps or a single dollar really helps. Presently we have 32 paying sponsors and may they be thrice blessed for their support. Send your support to The Witches' Voice, P.O. Box 560157, West Medford, Massachusetts 02156
In conclusion... Thank you all for an incredible opening month and do know that we have a plethura of plans for the next couple of weeks... Including many new pages and the polishing and updating of many that are already up. Feel free to check the Home page and the sub-indexes for the absolute lastest info on victories, protests and networking related the modern Witch community. We CAN do this... but only with you.
Always Remember, this is YOUR web site, we simply do the maintenance. YOU can do some wonderful things for the Witches of the World. We simply can't do this without you... Blessed Be Well - The Witches' Voice Staff
