In these troubled times, as in all times to turmoil and strife, we must remember that because we hold more power than some, we must also act in a more responsible manner than most.

Sounds pretty good. It should be on a cereal box, a billboard or maybe be an answer to a question on "Jeopardy". How many times in our lives hare we heard it and said "Right... that is only for the priesthood, or the "God of the Book", or the government, maybe Spiderman, but, I am not in that high exalted category. I am just me. I am just one person. I am fat. I am not trained enough. I am not beautiful. I am not that gifted. I don't have the time. I don't have the resources. I can't do it right. I don't have that kind of personal power.

Well... the fact of the matter is that Stan�s statement is true for you. That is, if you are a Witch!

We do choose to have more power due to the fact that we do not just sit and wait for the "God of the Book" to help us after many prayers and promises of a changed and corrected life. We all strive to be the best we can but life is not "Let's Make A Deal".

We do not sit and listen to the preacher, rabbi, priest, and what-have-you tell us that the times are evil because we are evil. As is so often said, "Evil is relative, and in my family all of them are" Ha! Someone else should not be the one to show you the problems in your life. You should see it, or a loving friend should see it and tell you, not some paid someone who only wants you to conform you to the dictates of his/her way to seeing the world.

We do not fast and pray in ashes for a Deliverer who will take the whole rotten mess and make it right overnight just like an episode of "The Twilight Zone". Someone who will put money in the bank, keep a roof over our heads, and food on the table is not going to drop from heaven and help only US who have recourse to HIM, forsaking all others who are in the same plight.

We will not wait for the government to pass yet another mammoth, multi-page, power- grabbing bill to bail out our sagging personal economy, supply perfect health, and keep our already safe food supply (which is already the safest in the world) safe. If you run out of gas on the road, the government is not going to bring you hi-test. Either you will walk to the nearest gas station or some friend-of-the-road will help. Ain't no Eagle on that!

We will not sit at home, powerless, hopeless, feeling that we are completely worthless because we lost the job we counted on to keep us safe and warm. You have had a job before and will work again. We are not our jobs!

We will not let worry cause us to lash out at friends and relatives. They are there to help us and they are not the cause of the problem. Their concern is what we need at times like this.

We will not let lack cause us to be greedy and little in our dealings with our neighbors and loved ones. No matter what we think of their situation or our own, we should be free in all of our dealings.

We will not point fingers and try to move blame for our own unwise choices to the shoulders of others. We are the outcome of our choices.

Face it folks: WE ARE WITCHES!

We will go directly to God and Goddess and by using our personal power, and with Their help, we will better our situation and endeavor to raise the situation of the whole planet. There is no in-between-man/woman needed for this. We choose to be the people of the God/Goddess and not the people of the Book.

We will take responsibility for our own actions because we know, being priests and priestesses ourselves, that if things are going badly, we did it and we know how to fix it. It is our right and privilege to do so.

We will use our common sense and our powers to put more money in the bank by looking and working with the God/ Goddess for a job or a better job, cleansing and protecting our home, and choosing appropriate food for our table. We again are the moving force here.

We will go to the God/Goddess and call for blessing for ourselves and our friends and relations. We will envelope them in goodness, health and security. We will think of the God/Goddess Who chose us, always.

We will share what we have with others, be it food, clothing, personal power or just supply a shoulder for them to cry on. We are only a grain of sand to ourselves but, to someone, we are the boulders to which they cling.

We, as is said before, are the only ones who have the final say in our lives. Yes, we make mistakes but we, and only we, have the power to forgive ourselves for the things we did or did not do in our lives. The Balance will set all things to right but we must learn to drop the burden there and not let it settle on us.

Yes, we are responsible for all the boo-boos and if you keep doing the same thing, thinking that a different outcome will develop, this rambling note will not help you. But if you are ready to stand up, take out your broom, roll up the sleeves of your robe and with courage, face the problems in your life and in the world, we are Witches and we can do it!

Have faith in yourself and in your own power and the God/Goddess will be there to help you. Say what is true and the world will listen. Look for the answers and they will come. Work for the betterment of yourself and all those you cherish. Go where you're wanted and do what's needed. Make a better life.
