Gail Loose returned to the arms of the Goddess on May 10, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was the High Priestess of the Coven of Danu in Phoenix, AZ and was the co-founder of the Arizona Line of the Mohsian Tradition. She took on the role of Priestess for the Coven in November of ’84 when the founding High Priestess turned it over to her, and ran it wisely and ably up until May 1st when, on her deathbed, she turned the coven over to a new High Priestess.
Gail was the epitome of what a Priestess should be: She gave unstintingly of herself to nurture and develop the members of the coven so they could realize their full potential, both as a human being and as a Priestess or Priest of the Craft. During her tenure seven covens came off of her, either directly or indirectly, along with numerous study groups and people who chose to remain solitaire while continuing to serve the Gods in their own unique ways. In spite of her successes she chose to remain humble, never seeking the limelight or exalting her titles for the world to see, for she firmly believed that a massive ego got in the way of seeing things clearly. She was dedicated to “doing the Work” and was always there for whoever needed her, but was tough enough not to let people use her as a crutch.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her and even as she lay dying she gave hope and wisdom to those who came to see her one last time and to say farewell. She will always be remembered.
