Discovering Witchcraft II - The Farrars and Gavin Bone

"The Mysteries" greatly expands upon the Inner Workings of ritual within a Wiccan context, and world-famous Witches Janet and Stewart Farrar, and Gavin Bone (see "about Janet, Stewart & Gavin" just below) disclose in detail information gained in several lifetimes of the practice of the Wiccan Priesthood.

"It is said that you can reveal all, but give away nothing." And so starts the second tape of this discovery series produced by Sothis Films (http://www.sothisfilms.com ).

The journey through the Craft continues. This tape is created by our friends in Ireland. It continues where the first tape, "Discovering Witchcraft: A Journey Through the Elements, " left off. You need not see them consecutively, but everyone should see them all.

Several sequences are visually stunning and artistically appealing. A great creative use of the sight sense is applied. You can see it several times and pick up something new.

Whether you are new to the Craft, or have been around for years, you can still learn and appreciate some of our heritage, and future from this tape. Revealing the inner secrets of Witchcraft has never been easy. But, here it is done with great aplomb.

"What, the secrets laid bare for all to see", you say? Yes, but as we know from our Charge, if you seek it, you find it not. For it is within. We shamans do this naturally. Our inner secrets are easy, and hard, that is the enigma we live with to create the balance in our lives. This tape reminds us of that.

We enjoy Janet's natural talent for storytelling. This reviewer could just listen to her for hours. Her ability to spin tales flows effortlessly from her. As effortless as this seems, we are aware that this journey is not easy.

You will face your demons and nightmares. You will be challenged mentally, emotionally and physically. Your tests will be great. Scary--yes. But, it proves our inner strength. Without challenges we cannot grow, but wither and die.

We are also learning, constantly learning. We have knowledge of science, physics, math, history, archeology, medicine, and, of course, magic. We are reminded of the wonder of the universe--that of which we are a part.

If nothing else, this is a visual record of part of our history. Each facet contributes to the whole. Each part of a diamond is made up of facets, they are interconnected and cannot exist without each other.

Recommended for all. Useful as a training tool and for those without a teacher. Do not expect a cookbook, that this is not. It is a discovery of our journey through the Craft. We eagerly await to see the journey continue.

Who are Janet, Stewart and Gavin?
(from the Sothis Films home page)

Janet and Stewart Farrar, authors of many books on the subject of Witchcraft, are well known internationally as experts on Witchcraft and the occult. Stewart Farrar worked as a journalist, playwright and an author of fiction before forming his first coven with Janet in 1971. Gavin Bone, a Registered Nurse, joined them in 1993, and has since worked with them on The Pagan Path; a study of Paganism worldwide, and The Healing Craft; a study of the relationship between traditional healing and Paganism.

To date they have published over ten books between them, which have been translated into German, Czech, Japanese, Portuguese and Dutch. This has established them as the foremost international authors on this subject. Many of their works are considered to be standard training material for modern Wiccan covens. They have their own coven in the Republic of Ireland, but still find time to lecture regularly both in Europe and the United States.
