What Is Really Hiding Behind the Comet's Tail ?
by Wren Walker

Regardless of what the experts are trying to tell you, there really IS something lurking behind the Hale-Bopp comet.

It turns out that maybe all those old fables of linking the appearance of comets in the sky with dire events happening upon the earth may not have been so far fetched after all.

Old woodcuts depict the 'raining of tongues of fire" upon the obviously dismayed village folks below. The Chinese looked for earthquakes and other disasters to appear whenever the current celestial fare included a comet.

We thought that in this enlightened scientific age, the age of quantum mechanics and the self-cleaning litter box, that we had exchanged the superstitious distrust of the unknown with the analytical assimilation of facts known as data. Scientific data is viewed as superior to any other kind of knowledge in that it is supposed to be free of emotional bias and human conjecture. Scientific data tells that this Hale-Bopp comet is a mere mixture of some dirty ice with a few carbon based elements thrown into the mix for good measure. There are projected orbit statistics, space pictures and many other scientific information measurement tools being trained on this iceball as it pays its once in every 2400 years visit to our solar system.

With all the eye in the sky technology following this comet's every spin, what could the experts have possibly overlooked? Why are they denying the existence of the "shadow companion" hitching a ride into our realm?

The real story concerning this blazing wanderer is really taking place here on the ground level. While everyone is craning their necks looking upward into the evening sky and carefully calibrating the settings on their spyglasses, the 'shadow companion" has already landed here on earth. And most folks have missed it.

What Really Happened in California?

The shadow struck down in California on the afternoon of March 26th, 1997 in a blaze of media glory. What was known about the impact area was little, but speculation on the ramifications of the event ran rampant even in the beginning. The discovery of thirty nine purple cloth draped bodies in an affluent neighborhood which was assumed to be somehow magically immune from reality and all its untidiness, sent a ripple of shock throughout the world. From the first reports of a possible "Satanic" cult to the final diagnosis of "lunatic fringe" Internet death pact, the media worked at enlarging the already growing crater of mis-information.

What do we really know about this group of people who were lead by "messengers" from somewhere above this plane? We know that they were fervent in their belief of a better existence somewhere other than Rancho Santa Fe; that they were willing to live their lives according to their beliefs and that, in the end, they made a stand for freedom.

We don't know if that is the legacy that they meant to leave this world. We may never know how they would want to be remembered-or if they even want to be remembered at all. But they surely will be ...They will be mentioned every time that some cyber-patrol wants to censor internet access in schools and libraries...and they will be held as the supreme example of the dangers of "too much" freedom...

Why Teach Kids To Use Computers...And Then Tell Them They Can't?

There has always been an undercurrent of people who are uncomfortable with what they see as the growing immorality of secular society. The soaring crime rate and rising tide of juvenile "offenders" seem to initially support this belief--or rather it is one of many scenarios that may be related to the problems of society.

So we are not espousing that these people have no reason to be concerned for the health and well being of their children. What we are trying to state is that the world is a very real place...and yes, while it does have some devils in it...it also is the very training ground for the future generations to learn how to navigate wisely through an increasing complex terrain.. It is the responsibility of educators and parents to turn out young people who can make decisions based on all the facts; who are able to look on ambiguous situations and not be thrown off balance; and who understand both the rights and responsibilities of the Constitution and The Bill of Rights. Free and complete access to the Internet is an important part of both the education process and the developing commerce of tomorrow.

How these young people will make decisions in the future will largely depend on how they are allowed to make them today. To send someone out into the world who has never been guided in decision making...allowed to weigh options...encouraged to make choices...is a grave disservice both to him and to society at large.

The uniformed and indecisive have only two options in dealing with the unknown factors that they have been "protected" from all their lives...fight or flight. Perhaps the real reasons that young people find refuge in drugs or validation in violent behavior is not that they have been exposed to uncomfortable or strange views...but maybe it is because they were never shown how to deal with these issues. Ignorance, indeed. may be the real villain.

To quote Learned Hand: "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it:..."

You cannot know the flavor of what liberty is all about if you are kept from tasting it yourself.

"In My Country, We Are Not Afraid of Freedom- Even If It Means That People Disagree With It." - Ivan Warner, (Washington lawyer, P.O.W.-North Korea).

The freedom of speech and the freedom of religion go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other, although this has become two different issues in the minds of the media and the courts. Lawsuits are catalogued as if these were separate truths and the media uses freedom of "speech" on a regular basis to step all over our freedom of religion.

Those of us who practice religions outside of the mainstream are not involved in anything that can be labeled a "cult"- yet that is the term most often used to describe us and all who have a different spiritual path than the "big three'. Many have written most eloquently on the religions known as Witchcraft, Wicca or sometimes Paganism. These groups of earth based religions are some of the fastest growing in the world today. Obviously they must offer something of value or this would not be so. If you are reading this article now, you have access on this same site to many informative and educational documents that explain the basic beliefs of these practitioners. Unfortunately, you can also read about the discrimination, vilification and fear that they face every day.

But let us not forget why these Pagans continue to stand...why they continue to face the future with hope...why they hold to their beliefs despite the somewhat formidable odds. They have tasted Liberty...They have explored the options and made a decision based on what they know to be right for them...They have chosen to "disagree" with the majority. That is their right to religious freedom; that is their right to speak freely about their beliefs..and that is their right to be heard in the public forum. And others have a right to listen.

As part of the Woodward Report (1975) states:" The history of intellectual growth and discovery clearly demonstrates the need for unfettered freedom; the right to think the unthinkable, discuss the unmentionable, and challenge the unchangeable. To curtail free expression strikes twice at intellectual freedom, for whoever deprives another of the right to state unpopular views also deprives others of the right to listen to those views......We value freedom of expression precisely because it provides a forum for the new, the provocative, the disturbing, and the unorthodox. Free speech is a barrier to the tyranny of authoritarian or even majority opinion as to the rightness or wrongness of particular doctrines or thoughts..."

"If expression may be prevented, censored or punished, because of its content or because of the motives attributed to those who promote it, then it is no longer free."

Yes, Virginia, there ARE Witches out there. And guess what? The Constitution protects them, too!

What The Media Doesn't Want You To Know...

So what really happened in California that fateful day?

The media witnessed an event which it did not understand, which it had no frame of reference for and which it could not easily explain. In the scramble for a scoop, in the effort to get out the news and in a blatant disregard for the personal freedoms of the people involved...they lied.

They reported that this event was about comets and the approach of the millennium and encounters with U.F.O.s. They reported that this was a "cult" that no one could possibly understand- intelligent and successful people who desired something more and believed that physical death was the way to attain it. They brought in the "experts" -the computer wizards and the sociology professors-and they aired those videotapes over and over.

The conclusion that they have presented to the world is that this was a strange and dangerous group that recruited over the Internet and whatever "those poor people" believed in, it had to be a false belief

The media was lying ...because what happened to the Heaven's Gate group was not the tragedy. The big story was neither about U.F.O.s or suicide pacts or "cult' activities. But there are victims of the shadow that fell to earth in California.

The real victims will be those who can no longer investigate the world as they may choose. The "poor people' will be those who never are allowed to hear a different viewpoint than that of their own kind. The losers here are not the thirty nine people who completed their walk, but those who will not be given the opportunity to take even a step out into new realms of thought and ideas.

What the media will not tell you is that when the Hale-Bopp comet leaves the starry skies of Planet Earth, it may well be taking the First Amendment with it.
