Soldier of Love (Cason-Moon)
Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and surrender to me Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and love me peacefully ..... Yea Use your arms for lovin' me Baby that's the way it's gotta be
There ain't no reason for you to declare War on the one that loves you so So forget the other boys Cause' my love is real Come off your battle field
Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and just surrender to me Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and love me tenderly Use your arms to hold me tight Baby I don't wanna fight no more
The weapons your using are hurting me bad And someday your gonna see That my love for you baby is the truest you've ever had A soldier of love is hard to beat
So Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and surrender to me Lay down your arms (Soldier of Love) and love me tenderly Use your arms to please and squeeze cause I'm the one that loves you so
(Soldier of Love...)
Lay down your arms ..... Lay down your arms I said a lay down your arms baby Come on ..... Come on ..... Yea Baby, I don't wanna fight ___ No more

This week I offer an obscure cover tune (meaning that I didn't write it) as part of our music give-a-way. Although this is NOT a Pagan tune it was recorded during the sessions for my "Celtic Feast of the Dead" CD. I have always loved the 'attitude' in this song and am proud to offer my humble rendition here.
As detailed in last week's release of "Be Well"... I suffered a serious stroke during the process of making CFOTD (see story & tune). When the stroke hit me I couldn't speak normally. This was most devastating, especially in that I had worked up a few tunes and *was* planning on doing some vocal tracks that coming weekend. As the "Be Well" story goes, I was miraculously healed in less than ten days time.
The tune that I was preparing to do vocal tracks for was a tune recorded by Authur Alexander (the same guy that did "Anna"). It is a simple pop tune, written in the 50's and one that has been covered by many artists over the years. Thanks to my many friends in the craft, I was absolutely thrilled that I could, not only speak again but could sing as well.
Tune History: This tune has been covered by many artists and was one of the tunes that the Beatles used to 'cover' in their bar days long before they ruled the world (check out the Beatles at the BBC CD). Marshall Crenshaw also covered it on his first release.
Recorded: January 1995 at MiceTrax Digital Magick Recording studio in Boston, Mass. This is one of the rare tunes from these sessions that actually does have some "fuzzy guitar" on it. Drums were programmed by yours truly on the now famous Alesis hr16 drum machine. Bass was an Ibanez RB-850 and the guitar was a Hohner "Steinberger" copy played through a Scholtz RockMan headphone box.
