The Color of Magick (words and music by Fritz Jung)
The Color of magick, that hue of sunshine Promise me wonder, can you see me smilin' ? Passion for hours is ours today I need our magic, your color to play
You won't see me cryin', It's to short a life You make easy and you make it right Red is your color and green it's for me Your color position is all I can see
That Cool Blue Night That Red Chakra Light Feeling warm inside In The Morning Light It's gonna be alright
That hot burst of color, this warm summer night I'll always remember that radiant shine Your eyes filled with color, the depth of your soul I need our magick, your color control
That Cool Blue Night That Red Chakra Light Feeling warm inside In The Morning Light It's gonna be alright

For April 2001 I am honored to offer a tune called The Color of Magick... This tune was the first original tune that I had ever written, and it was written quickly. Inspired by a beautiful woman named Kate Fantasia, The Color of Magick was not only fun to write but very easy to record. I liked its tight rhythm and actually performed the acoustic guitar parts without the use of a pick.
After the two acoustic guitar parts were recorded I laid down the lead vox and the three part harmony for the chorus. Over the next 8 months I recorded the other 12 trax for this project and during that time I kept going back to this tune and tried many different instruments and parts to build it up. In the end, it just sounded best in its original raw state. I present it here as it was put together in a single night.
Recorded: in February of 1995 at MiceTrax Digital Magick Recording studio in Boston, Mass. This tune is quite simply a couple of acoustic guitar trax and 4 vox trax. The Guitar was a 1984 Alvarez DY-73 (pictured above - which I still own) and the mics were AT-33's.
This Photo: was taken by Wren in 1995 and YES that really IS a skeleton with his/her hand on a TV remote control unit to the left of me. This is a shot of me actually playing this tune at that time, I know this 'cause it's the only tune that I play with the capo on the 7th fret.
As raw as this track is, it is still one of my faves cuts from this project. Take it with the magick from which it was written and may the Color of Your Magick be that of the rainbow.
