We Thank you and We Love you Michael...
On May 26th one of REAL ones passed on through to the other side. The greater Boston Wiccan community has been blessed with the warmth, light and wisdom of Michael Ralph DesRosiers for the past 22 years. Make no doubt about it, Micheal was the real thing! Ecclectic by nature and a true giver in the real sense; he inspired hundreds with his many talents and magical skills. On Friday Wren and I attended one of the most moving services that we've ever seen. Michael was loved by so many that the funeral home was packed to capacity. Peg sang a beautiful Scottish/Gaelic lament and friends of Michael reflected eloquently on his most recent life. This void will never be filled and Michael's impact on the Pagan community has changed us all for ever... We love you Michael and we will honor your life always... - So Mote It Be
The Witches' Voice and those close to Michael are presently preparing a proper eulogy so look for that in the next couple of days. |

| Double Double Toil and Trouble - WIRED Magazine grooves on WVOX.
"The saying 'Those who walk in love and truth shall grow in honor and strength' greets each connection to the Witches' Voice. Grounded in Boston, Massachusetts, the undiluted threads of digital magic that make up this informative cyberspace offer a profound mythos for our increasingly obvious interconnecting global/universal web of life. A news and education network for WitchCraft as a pagan religion, this site is rich with compassion, honoring the sacrifices of the past. Elemental texts like the Witches Rede and the Three-Fold Law share the spotlight with the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the Advanced Bonewits' Cult Danger Evaluation Frame, stories of modern witch persecutions, and a Witchcraft FAQ. Plunge into the hyper-techno spell of electronic modem handshakes and know the light of pure and true Magick." Wired Magazine - June '97 |
Just In! The Latest News From Jane... The Witches' Voice is honored to present the latest installment of the fine reporting and gathering work of Jane from Maine. Jane is a Witch and journalist who lives in Maine with four cats (black, of course). Many of you already know her from her famous "Jane's Tidings" column in both Harvest and Tides magazines. Feel free to send clippings, reports, updates, criticism and lavish praise to Jane, P.O. Box 64, Portland, ME 04112, or by simply E-Mailing her | | WebMaster Notes
| What? You want my opinion? Although, I personally place limited value on one's "opinion", I, like just about everyone, have one. The creation, evolvement and maintenance of WVOX leave me little time to use my own voice. I get asked all the time in email for my "thoughts" on various issues including religious rights, modern Witchcraft and (believe it or not) Web Design. This month I expose the many mistakes that I have made over the past year in learning how to create and evolve this WebSite. The Pagan Web has grown dramatically over the past 18 months and the future is indeed exciting. Of course this is just "my opinion". |

| YOUR Voice Wanted ! The Witches' Voice is looking for Articles by and for Witches. We have received many requests from folks wanting more editorials, commentaries and other submissions from Pagans all over the globe. We want to know what is happening in your area, what you think about the issues facing Pagans today and how you practice your religion. Check out our current topic listing-or suggest a subject of your own. We want to hear from YOU! |
Judge not, lest ye be judged... A court is in the position to rule on points of law. This Alabama judge takes his job very seriously. We should take him seriously, too. Because if Judge Roy Moore (see frightening image just to your right) wins in this courtroom, Christianity may become the official state religion. This is scary stuff we are talking about folks... This has been going on for months and OUR Voice MUST be heard...
Teenage Witches are voicing their concerns - Are You ? This week we received a copy of a wonderfully crafted letter to President Clinton from a 17 year old Witch voicing her concern about Judge Moore's antics... | |
| Critical Australian Information... We just received this from Australia and believe that it is very important to post. "The Federal Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission in Australia is currently taking submissions on the issue of religious freedom and right of beliefs in Australia. Submissions close on the 30th of June, 1997 and I want as many people as possible in the Pagan and Witchcraft community to know about this discussion and if possible make submissions. If you could put this info somewhere on the Witches Voice Web site it would help immeasurably". - Thanks for any help you can give us. The discussion paper, with submissions guidelines is available at: http://www.hreoc.gov.au/hreoc/humright/free_bel.htm. |
