   (Part Seven)
Neo-Pagans and Self Actualization
People may be seeking to fulfill needs within the rituals and beliefs of Neo-paganism which may not necessarily be religious in nature at all. Needs are motivating factors. Different people have different needs and will find different ways to meet them. This would tend to explain the formation of the different traditions, the discussions over 'validity' or definitions and the debates which are rippling throughout the chat rooms and message boards.
Some think that this is like a big cauldron somewhere that is threatening to boil over and scald us all.
But while discontent is often seen as a negative thing, Abraham Maslow, whose work is the subject of this article, himself said:
"Whenever something new pops into my consciousness, I initially fight it ... I develop insomnia, cold chills, even poor digestion ... slowly, it dawns upon me that something is cooking intellectually inside ... I know that if I begin to suffer from insomnia, digestive problems, glumness and grimness, it is actually a good sign. My wife will aptly comment: "Something good is cooking, isn't it, Abe?" (A. Maslow, Lecture, University of Maine, August 1966)
I believe that there is 'something good" cooking within Neo-paganism.

Witch, Wiccan or Pagan? Three more articles added this week! That do these words mean? How are they different? Can you be just one? two? or all three? These questions are the basis of constant debate and discussion throughout the Pagan community. From time to time we get email asking why WE seem to mix these three words throughout this website. The answer is simple, The Witches' Voice has never had a desire to define these terms TO or FOR the community. However, most of you do have some very strong opinions on this subject. This week we present 4 pages of thoughts on "What is a Witch, Wiccan or a Pagan" - Note: Three more articles added this week!
The Compact Disc(s): that kept the Voice staff "motivated" this week were, Crowded House "Together/Alone" AND XTC's 1982 release "English Settlement". This week we anxiously await the first XTC release in 7 years... "Apple Venus"
Bless you all... for your patience with us over the past week. We are pounding hard on our email and slowing catching up. Always know that even when this page isn't changing, the rest of this site is and on a daily basis. The Witches' of the World pages and the Pagan links pages are updated, faithfully, every 24-48 hours, Wren's Nest is updated daily and new pages all over this site can and do pop up on a regular basis.
Thank You
ALWAYS In Your Service,
 Founders - The Witches' Voice (February, 21st, 1999 c.e.)
