The Season of New Beginnings
 Greetings Witches, Wiccans and Pagans,
And Speaking of New Projects... This week, Fritz has sequestered himself in an effort to rewrite many of the pages at the Witches' Voice web site. Look for a new and more professional version of Wren's Nest very soon which will include faster and more intuitive search capabilities. The Witches' Voice will have compete "server level" control by sometime next month. The 'Nest will be the first of our regular sections to be completely dynamic. Server level control has been that boy's dream for as long as he has been on the web. It's a nice touch of fate that the season of 'new beginnings' will see that dream become a reality. Look for dramatic "site wide" changes over the next couple of months.
Celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd!
Earth Day will be 30 years old this month. That means that those of you who are under the age of the big 3-0 weren't even born when the first Earth Day came into being. Since earth-religionists are often interested in history as well as nature, you may find Earth Day 2000 With Gaylord Nelson a good read.
"Thirty years ago, Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin had a brainstorm. The environment was in trouble - polluted air, sullied waters, toxic wastes were littering the landscape. Yet environmental issues were hardly front-page news, nor were they the top priority in Washington, DC. Senator Nelson decided to do something about it."
"Taking his cue from the "teach-ins" being held across the nation to protest the Vietnam War, Senator Nelson announced that April 22, 1970, would signal a nationwide teach-in on the environment. That first Earth Day, which drew more than 20 million participants, marked the beginning of a new era of environmental consciousness."- (From The Environmental News Service)

Even though I am still romantic enough to want to look good for Fritz when he comes home at night, I daresay this week will find me with dirt under the fingernails. Even though we live in an apartment, I take this time of Earth Day celebrations to repot all of my plants and do up the window box with bright red geraniums. The pond at our complex will get the shoreline cleaned up and the fallen willow branches will be gathered to make wreaths and brooms. Your own Earth Day celebrations can be just as simple as that.
And if you or your coven/group do participate in any Earth Day activities in your hometown, we would love to get a picture of you for the TWV site. One picture of pagans doing good deeds in their local area is worth more than a thousand words that we could say about what good people that we really are. And YOU demonstrate to us here at TWV every day that pagans really are good people. Thank you. It makes our work very easy indeed.
WitchVox Cracks 2000 Pages: With the addition of yet another 16 powerful essays, WitchVox has toppled the 2,000 page mark. Over 3 million community written words lace this web site. It amazes us how dramatically this site has grown over the past couple of years. Fritz tells me that last month was our busiest month ever.
PSG 2000 -- An Open Call to Queer Pagans: The 20th anniversary of Pagan Spirit Gathering (PSG) 2000 will be held from June 18-25, 2000 C.E. at Wisteria in southeastern Ohio. PSG's GLBT community members have spent nearly a year planning some special events for this year's PSG to commemorate the open and affirming atmosphere we have found at this annual festival. For additional info kindly sure to the WitchVox Gay Pagan Page
VoxSearch , A Hit with WitchVox Surfers: An astounding number of you have been using our VoxSearch search engines (located on the bottom of all of our pages and just below). Not surprisingly, questions like "I thought I saw xxx at Witchvox, could you point me to it"? have waned dramatically. EVEN Wren herself is actually using them to hunt down requests for some of her past posts (thanks for giving it a try dear!). The most popular is the Pagan Links Search, then Wren's Nest Archives, followed closely by "Articles & Essays" and finally Adult/Young Pagan Contacts Search. All told, VoxSearch has generated some 290,117 searches since it was launched earlier backin November. Give VoxSearch a Ride!
Pagans With Lots to Say!: We are very pleased to feature 16 new adult essays this week and very, very pleased to see some new writers venturing into the world of writing for the web. Who can say which new pagan author will get their start here and then go on to write wonderful things for the world? Maybe, it will be YOU!

Page ONE - TWO - THREE - FOUR - FIVE - SIX - SEVEN - EIGHT - NIE - TEN
