| 100 Million Pages! |
It took nearly 7 years, but this week Witchvox broke the 100 million pages delivered mark. Yes, this count IS real and represents full pages requested by seekers from around the planet since Jan 28. 1997. (does NOT include; redirects, ss-includes or error pages). -- It is YOU that built this wonderful community resource. Give yourselves a round of applause.
Wotw v8.0 Takes Flight!
Last week we launched WOTW (Witches of the World Networking) version 8.Ohhhh and thanks to some quick feedback it actually took flight and soared. During the week we scrambled to fix tiny bugs, and do some quick polishing. It is worth noting that v8 is seeing substantial tweaking on a daily basis... If something was missing or weird yesterday it is probably fixed today. - User Photos: One of the new treats is the option for Pagans to post their pictures - Here at TWV we love faces and nearly 300 of you have posted your photo so far.
Important: If you HAVE a listing a Witchvox we have set up an account for you... To get your password [Click HERE]
Sponsors: If any of your listings need help or (Gods forbid) you are NOT flagged as sponsor - email us for a quick fix.
New Sponsors: Several of you became sponsors in the first 3 days of the month... Wren sent out some quick thank yous! We will fully process your sponsorships (and those from checks just received) and have you properly flagged by tuesday night -- The option to newly sponsor Witchvox is still offline but should be back sometime this week.
New Features/Fixes... New Personals area listings, powerful search options for Pagans, Links, and Group were added. Clean ups in the detail pages and the main lists continued all in an effort to enhance your networking experience. The 'cc yourself a copy' option in the email send page has been rewritten and added back.
Can't access *some* Listings: One of our biggest frustrations with the conversion was that some of you had several listings with several different emails... We had no option but to create separate accounts FOR these listings. If you'd like us to combine them, email us.
Known Issues... Most bugs have been squashed and load time is faster than ever but a few bugs remain. There is an illusive and nasty bug that seems to effect the 'update listing pages' in Windows XP running IE - If you can help us deal with this runtime (java?) error - kindly email us.
We thank those of you that emailed with your glee related to all the new features. - Tis you that are supplying the real magick here, and we thank you for it.

| Whose Perceptions? |
by Amy Wallen
I am a strong advocate of human rights in general, and it always saddens me to hear stories of Pagans being harassed because they are Pagan. Most definitely, this is an issue that needs to be addressed, as is any form of denial of rights, but it seems to me that in our eagerness to ensure we are treated equally, we are not searching deeply enough as to why equal treatment is lacking.... New Tradition Profile...
Composed by: Tony Taylor
Keltrian Druidism was founded in 1985 by members of Ár nDra"ocht Féin who were looking for a Celtic-specific path. In doing so, they built an organization, The Henge of Keltria, and a tradition honoring our ancestors, revering the spirits of nature, and worshipping the Gods and Goddesses of our Celtic heritage. The tradition uses a very specific formula in its ritual form. Those people who regularly practice Keltrian style ritual and who define themselves as Keltrian Druids are following the tradition regardless of their membership within The Henge of Keltria. There are Groves and Study Groups in several states... [Full Profile]
Why Do We Get In Our Own Way?
by Aidan Odinson
Some years ago when I was heavily involved in motorcycling, a certain motorcycle dealer made a remark to me about his competitor in a neighboring city. "I really like them, " he said. "They couldn't do more for me if they were on my payroll!" The principle can certainly apply to Witches and Pagans. Do we help anyone besides our enemies by bickering among ourselves? Do we accomplish anything in so-called "Witch Wars" other than standing in the way of what we really need and want? ... [Full Article]
Rights and Perceptions
According to my calendar, it's the last day of November, which means that the Christmas season (and the subsequent Christmas buying frenzy) is well underway. But hoards of frantic shoppers are not the only thing to sour my Yule season along with the mad rush to the mall and the lack of parking comes an equally large hoard of Christmas Intolerance... Rights and Perceptions
by Rabbi Eliyahu Yaakov
When I think about rights and perceptions, two very clear misunderstandings come to mind. The first is the perception of what exactly is a "right" and the second is the inherent right of "perception." Obviously we can look to just about any dictionary and determine the definitions of these two words; however, clinical definitions will never convey the actual spirit of ideas that these two words create... Flowers on Thanksgiving
by Gaia IvoryWitch
Of all the days to be working, I thought. Thanksgiving Day. Oh well, it's not as though I were missing anything right this minute. I really would have liked to be cooking like a fiend, but this morning I settled for arranging flowers. My mundane trade is a florist. In a grocery store. So I get to be a 'fake' florist just like I'm a 'fake' Witch to some. I found that thought amusing. I got to leave the cooking to my mother-in-law. I would get off work just in time to make a hasty hour's drive north to gorge myself on copious amounts of turkey and various other Thanksgiving delicacies... [Full Article]
