The Pagan Voting Project....
When lighting a candle isn't enough!
Our Pagan brothers and sisters over at Full Circle Events have just launched a bipartisian and non-profit web effort entitled The Pagan Voting Project to help inspire US Pagans to vote in the coming national election.
Packed with important resources, the Pagan Voting Project tackles head-on the issue of why it is important that Pagans register and vote and then offers quick links to resources that can get YOU signed up. - Whilst there, do check out "Bats Inna Belfry" - A Voting Cardtoon - It's fabulous.
Other sections include a powerful document 'Thirteen Reasons to Vote', a stable of "Pagans Vote' images for YOUR website and other tools to help you to spread the word.
Do we vote? Always have.... Always will - Do YOU?
Our profound thanks go out to Sia, Abby Willowroot, Captain Lightening, Jon W., Howard S., Laurel and Snakemoon for their dedication in putting this critical and timely resource together.

Robert Larson Passes Over
It is with regret that I announce that Robert Larson, DAL, BE, of the Reformed Druids of North America, has joined the Ancestors.
Robert was the graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota who first introduced me to the Reformed Druids of North America and who eventually ordained me as a priest of the Earthmother in 1968. It was his omission of early non-Pagan materials in the RDNA teachings that led me to believe that Druidism was and should be a Neopagan path. He was the priest who showed me how powerful invoking Celtic deities in a Celtic language could be, and whose love of trees influenced my environmental concerns. He was the one who encouraged me to edit, write, and typeset The Druid Chronicles (Evolved), which eventually became A Reformed Druid Druid Anthology... [More Info at neopagan.net]
The Rich Witch Part I: Why We Should Be Rich
by Rodney Robbins
If Witches are so powerful, if spells really work, if magic happens, then why aren't there more rich Witches? This isn't a rhetorical question; after all, Witches aren't immune to the desire for nice things. I know one Pagan Princess with so much Goddess jewelry, she can't fold her hands without cutting off a finger. It just seems to me that Witches, Pagans and Celtic Christians should be among the most financially successful groups around. Instead, we are often underpaid and overworked. So, here is why I think we should be rich, plus my take on some possible reasons why most of us aren't. Next time, I'll talk about the most powerful and ethical ways I know to use magic to attract money... [Full Article]
Witch Hunts - Exposing The Lies
by Kerr Cuhulain
I just received the following information from alert reader Nick Bolton regarding my article Policing the Shadows related to Mark Rizzo.
BB -- Kerr Cuhulain
Fake FBI agent arrested at crime conference
CHICAGO, IL, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- The FBI has arrested Mark W. Rizzo for allegedly pretending to be an FBI employee at a Chicago convention for law enforcement. The Chicago Sun Times reported Saturday that Rizzo was charged with one count of impersonating an FBI employee at the International Gang Crime Research Convention attended by police officers from all over the world.
Rizzo, arrested Friday, had been scheduled to teach eight courses at the conference from Wednesday through Friday. He told U.S. Magistrate Judge Morton Denlow he didn't have any law enforcement credentials, "valid or invalid." If convicted, Rizzo faces three years in prison"...

|New Feature - ALL Listings:|
Our 'white board' of too doos is back up over 200 *must do projects*, but an often requested feature is that we add an option to 'view all my listings' to the detail pages... This is now done (and hopefully out of the way of the 'botts'). At this time it doesn't list Witchvox essays but does include all mods in the WOTW Networking Section.
Fires of Lughnasadh - Fall City, Washington
(July 23-25, 2004)
Reviewed by: Rhea Loader
This past weekend was the third annual Fires of Lughnasadh festival at the Rachana Retreat Center (The Longhouse), a retreat nestled in a wetlands valley, with a swimming pool, stone circle, camping places in a meadow, and a tunnel through the woodland lit by strings of tiny lights. We followed the tunnel to the bardic fire, to the hot tub and outdoor showers, to the cooking area, and out to where more camping sites were nestled in alcoves in the woods. Moving beyond the camping sites, decorated colorfully by different clans of the folk (Pagans, Wiccans, Witches, Naturists, Venusians and Fellow Travelers), we came to the Garden of Earthly Delights, the shrine to Venus. Turning in another direction, crossing a bridge over water, we entered the outdoor workshop area in the Psychic Garden. Turning again, in a... [Full Article]
Now, I know what you're probably thinking: "Geez, Wolfie's been in the unguentum Sabbati again..."
But for the entire period that I was officially a member of a living, breathing Coven on the West Coast, I lived where I still live, on the East. With the exception of, I believe, seven whole days, during my tenure as a Seeker, my year and a day of Dedication, and after my First Degree Initiation, I practiced by "remote control."
I don't know if my experience is all that unique, but I have yet to hear a similar story. And some people might contend that, because of the physical separation, I wasn't "really" a member of that Coven. I won't argue with that - I don't need to. My Teacher, my High Priest and my Covenmates said I was a member, and I will not dispute the words of those good people... [Full Article]
Weathering the Storm: A Witch's Story From Within Hurricane Charlie
by Lady Abigail
I am a Witch of the Old World. No, I was not born in the Old World nor am I thousands of years old, (thought some may consider me so). Yet, by the blessings of all the powers that be, I was trained and brought up in the knowledge and understanding of the old ways.
During the past week I became, if possible, even more grateful for the instruction I gained of the craft from my Great Grandmother. The wisdom she bestowed upon me made easier the fears and uncertainties seen by many living in Central Florida as Hurricane Charlie moved directly toward us.... [Full Article]

You've probably met Hera (known to the Romans as Juno) before, perhaps on your own or in a high school classical mythology unit. You probably know her as the nagging, shrewish wife of Zeus (Jupiter), the king of the gods and great lord of Olympus. But did you know that back in the mists of the ancient world, Hera was a Great Mother figure of the eastern Mediterranean region, a sky goddess beloved by millions in her own right as Queen of the Heavens?... A Solitary Pagan is not always alone. This is one of those concepts that many have a hard time understanding and others just cannot accept. I have never truly felt the need to share my rituals or beliefs with anyone but me and the deities involved. I am Solitary mostly because I am a busy person with much to do and little time to escape. When I have the time to celebrate I am usually alone with my animals or riding out in the woods with my non-Pagan friends.. [Full Article]
The Ethics Of Magick
Some people are of the belief that when it comes to the practice of magick that anything goes. Magick is after all, simply that - magick. It is not caught up in ethics or morals. While this is correct, magick is actually shaped by the inner beliefs, ethics and morals of the person who uses it.
In all orthodox religions there are certain laws and regulations of how a follower of that faith should conduct themselves - in Christianity, for example, there are the Ten Commandments. In many Pagan traditions, however, it is believed that there is actually little need for such dogma as each person is ultimately responsible for their actions... [Full Article]
