It's been many a moon since I've chimed in here, but so much HAS been going on in the background, I take this opportunity to share changes, features, pictures and treats.
Although Wren and I have been retired from personal appearances for over three years now, we did cruse down to the Florida Pagan Gathering to meet Kerr and Chris (see picts below)... Our profound thanks go out to Roger and the FPG staff for allowing to visit for a few hours. Sadly our time was limited so a proper review of FPG will need to be submitted by one of the 600 plus attendees (hint). We are also sadden that we didn't get to grab a hug from Dorothy, Roger, Anne and others.
F.P.G. has been going on for years and is one of the 'must attend' events here in Florida. Word has it that over 600 Pagans were in attendence and the atmosphere was positive and full of light.
We've known both Kerr Cuhulain (see NEW Witch hunt article this week) and Christopher Penczak for years (via the phone and email as far back as the 80's), and with them but 20 miles south we seized the opportunity to meet them in the flesh. It is SO refreshing to chat with Pagans that are grounded and doing something truly special. The thrill was ours!

Witchvox Site Updates, Tweaks and changes: The new article management system has been the main focus this year. We have locked (to accounts) and converted some 3, 500 articles. This new structure pulls all of this together for the home page updates, deeper user submission options, and ties articles to the authors. So, if you enjoy an article, you can quickly get a list of all posts and articles by that author with a single click.
This conversion is still in progress and there is still much clean up to do. But the new structure IS in place enabling YOU to quickly submit event reviews, Pagan Passages and on/off topic articles related to the Pagan Path. You can access all of this from YOUR Witchvox account.
New this week are 'smart indexes' for most chapters at TWV. The offer sorting that makes sense for the chapter as well as a 'Top 13' list for the hot articles in that chapter. (example: http://www.witchvox.com/_x.html?c=trads - sorted A-Z and it does NOT sort all the 'THE' listings in the T section). One of your most requested features was also added to this upgrade - we now feature 'page jump links' on the top of the page as well as the bottom.
The article search code also got leaner and meaner and subsorts by section...
As always keep those suggestions coming, we have built this site based on your requests and will continue to do so.
The Witchvox 'To Do List' still contains over 120 'must dos' - After we finish up the new article structure, expect to see a rewrite of Wren's Nest from scratch - this will be mostly new coding. Poor Wren, the Nest was my 'php newbie' work... I have learned much since I coded that up. Most changes will be transparent to the Wren's Nest surfers. After that will be (finally) that 'Pagan Art' section that we've promised for years... Bottom line, we are working hard to move all of this forward and thank you for your patience.

Recent Witchvox FAQs: Email traffic has always been heavy here at TWV... In an effort to minimize that, here is a quick list of the most frequently asked questions...
Q: When will Witchvox have a message board?
A: We have no plans to create/manage a Pagan Message board... Fact is, there are thousands on the Pagan web, most Pagan sites manifest most of their traffic from their MBs. We just don't see the need to do one here.
Q: When will Wren start writing again?
A: Wren wrote feverishly for years and belives that she covered most of what she wanted to during that period... - Her work was extremely popular and is archived HERE.
Q: Why are my listings gone? I want to know what I did wrong?
A: The level of paranoia out there is disturbing... It is extremely rare that we remove an account/listing because of rule violation (maybe 5 or 6 a year)... but we DO hold you accountable to maintain a 'working email address' in your Vox account... We test all accounts roughly twice a year and remove any that we get 'mailbox full' or user unknown responses from. If you leave a dead email address on Witchvox your listing will be gone.
Q: Why can't I log in?
A: Witchvox like most sites with user accounts requires that a simple session cookie be set by your web browser so that YOUR listings know that YOU are the one that is editing them. - To make sure your browser is accepting a witchvox cookie check out. - 'Can't Log in' for all that we know that may help. - Fact is 98% of you do log in with ease.
The Numbers: Witchvox continues to grow in size and in traffic. - Actual pages requested (not mere pieces, or 'hits') have been running at 4 million a month of late. - The database that feeds all that you see presently contains over 462, 000 records of YOUR listings and thoughts.
Thousands of you log in daily to edit/add or remove your personal, events, group, poetry, article, comments to this site. Article submission is running near three times what it was by this time last year, and Dio and Runewolf have been working feverishly to keep up. - Their work has been a Godssend to us all.
Thank you all for making this is a valuable stop on the Pagan Web.
