It saddens us to tell you that on Wed March 6, Jason Keith Waldrop Gandy (known to all as Ogre) passed from this life at age 21.
Ogre was known to EVERYONE, Pagan or not, love him or hate him (there was no in between) in the Greenville, SC area. He was a huge bear of a man (hence his nickname), who gave great hugs. He was a young man of some considerable depth, but he always knew how to have fun. Everyone who knew him for any amount of time can recall the many adventures he would set out on, be they mystical, comical, frightening, or more often a combination of the three. At first, you might be reluctant to join him, but the next thing you knew, there you were at his side, having the time of your life. Ogre never set himself apart as any more important than anyone around him, but we all knew him as a rock of the Greenville young Pagan community.
We have lost a piece of ourselves. Without Ogre's presence, his spark of life, and yes, his hugs, our lives are forever changed. Ogre's ashes will be spread in part on his mountain, in part in Charleston and part in Scotland at dawn on the Vernal equinox.
