"My thoughts are simple and clear some may say harsh any witch who would draw a line in the sand agaist other witches breaks one belief that in wiccan Ive held above all execpt one. thats we accept all for they are race creed religion aside. Those who cant remember that have lost thier way and need to step back and have a look what makes us strong is that even in our differences we can stand as one. In my opinion to such things you fall into a dark path and if they arent carful the call of the warlock could reach thier ears. I hope this war is short and all become well. May the wind be at you back and the sun shining on your face.Blessed Be"

William Canu Blaidd - Memphis, Tennessee

"I have been a Pagan for 9 years and the Witch Wars essays interested me because I have seen some of these things happen. It really is a tragedy that here we go on and on about perfect love and perfect trust and harming none yet we have those in our community who seem to feel that it is perfectly appropriate to use their practices and beliefs as a way to abuse others. I have let few people outside of the Pagan community know what I was simply because I felt it was safer to take the path of least resistance and not expose myself to the potential for mistreatment. It is true that not all Christians are of the type that would happily turn us all back into kindling given the first available opportunity. But I have known Pagans whose very presence among other Pagans had to potential to create full blown Witch Wars just by their interrelations with the rest of the group or community. Plenty who do not understand that it is not best to announce yourself as a Pagan to the general public then wind up hurt when their mundane acquaintances snicker at them either behind their backs or to their faces and their Pagan acquaintances then begin to turn them away. I simply choose to remain neutral if the Wars do not directly involve me...they generally do not. I hope this is making sense to those who read it. I sometimes ramble without properly organizing my thoughts first."

"Hear hear. Thank you in that someone is finally making this issue public. Although I remain solitary for the present I have noticed this through my surfing on the internet. All I could feel was sadness frustration and yes even anger that all those who proclaimed tolerance were not even practicing it within their own group. Rather than pagans presenting unity what I saw instead was eachs proclamation that basically theirs was the right way even though there was no one right way. What a contradiction in thought. How can a group present a unified front to the world when there is so much in-fighting Thank you again for bringing this issue to the forefront."

Arthur - Niagara Falls,

"Dear Witches VoiceThere are many good arguments around and I agree with many and disagree with just as many. What I feel is a problem is that we are talking about a disorganized religion here. Very disorganized. And it is becoming more unmanagable as the time goes by. Small sects or psuedo-Wiccans are meeting creating off the track groups who espouse ideals that either violate the Wiccan Rede or advance it. But with no central authority or even central focus the Wiccan community is powerless to stop these deviants or benefit from these visionarys.I believe it is about time we started getting our acts in gear and tossing childish notions of I can just worship on my own and not have to worry about a church or any such obligations No one is going to take us seriously this way whether we like it or not. Internet Witches is perhaps the most disturbing and unnatural trend I have ever seen...half of them cant even write properly What an imageThe solution is already in motion either we will get our act together and begin joining covens under some semblance of a unifying forum to organize our wonderous religion...or we will continue to be cast as eclectic hippies who eat no meat and summon demons to do our groceries Without an authoratative voice to stand up to the media barons and ignorant we will suffer the most ingnoble fate a religion can recieve ridicule. Do we want our Goddess worship to become synominous with such quacks as the Mormans and the Jehovahs Witnesses I dont. This is not an alarmists plea. This is not negative ranting. This is a serious message meant to stir the thoughts into a larger view of Wicca. I think we have mastered reforging the basics of our religion. Perhaps it is time to evolve and to create something larger something that will set an example of what the spirituality of the world can be like.I am not against personal worship. I was a solitary for my first two years and enjoyed it. Solitaries and coveners are equal and always should be. It is those who are either missing out on deeper insights due to the lack of availibility of elders or those who refuse to take responsibility for the task we have been assigned who I am adressing. Wicca is the religion of the new millenium. We stand with our destiny in our hands how will we weave the gift we have been givenSincerelyArthur"

"If you ask me it sounds like we all earth faiths are trying to become a group of organized faiths with what has been said here minus the WITCHS VOICE with neutrality. All I can say is look what bickering about who is right and who is wrong did to the organized christian denominations. Christianity begot Catholicism because they wanted their own say Cath. begot Protestintism etc.YOUR BELIEFS ARE YOUR OWN AND THE OTHERS THAT SHARE YOUR BELIEF.YOU DO NOT FORCE THAT YOUR BELIEF IS RIGHT AND SOMEONE ELSES IS NOT.LOOK AT THE INQUISITION AND THE TRIALS OF SALEM.By the way Salem was beautiful my first time though I cant believe the fact the whole town profits from what I consider selected mass murder.Witch this witch that etc.It is in bad taste like saying would anyone like to purchase a Hiroshima Barbeque or a Nagasaki Smokey Charlie.Or how about the Inquisition knee brace it can take a hammer and come back for more.It doesnt matter that it happened fifty a hundred or a thousand years ago its in bad taste and sorry to say to all the nice people I met there as there were many I cannot support it and I wont be going back."

Lunar Vixen - Calgary, Alberta

"Well I didnt know what a Witch War was at first. But now that I have seen this and gone through some of it I know that I have actually seen a Witch War. And I agree with most of the points I have read so far. I think the Witch War here in Calgary is still going on. I got tired of being on the sidelines while two priestesss played tennis with bitting tongues. Its ridiculous and stupid. Christianity has its different sects why cant paganism be that way too Jeez If we were all the same no one would learn anything new because it would be same old stagnant stuff. Personaly I like diversity."

"Blessing all. I have read many of the Postings. And I agree with so many. Why fight each other Why fight at all with anyone Speak out on World Events such as the distruction of out EARTH. Polution in its many forms is something we should work on. The homeless in out Country. The Hungry. The Poor. Lets Fight the Good fight in a GOOD and Positive way. Lets Honor our Lady and Lord by caring in anyway we can for the Earth and all Life that Resides on it. Including Animal and Plant life. We must work to better our Home. For it is a Gift given to use which we must live upon. In my opinion. I know some may feel the Earth is our RIGHT to live upon and do as we will with it. BUT in my heart its a blessing that we should not take for granted. Blessed be to all. May the Lady and Lord guide you on your path. Tyras"

"the saddest thing is to watch the pegan community tear itself apart as the christians did. its all the same beautifull energy no mater who or what we call it. our egos tend to grab on to our gods and pound them into submission for our own political mental or spiritual needs and wants. we put names to our gods to help us but they are only there to help us help ourselves. we are made in hisher image but we are all so individual. doesnt that alone tell you something about godBlessed*Be*tristan"

"I am a loving witch. I do not communitcate with other healers physically. I celebrate all of you within my heart and without in my daily life. Thank you for bringing tears of joyousness to my eyes as I see the outer validity of my religion before me. Thank you all brothers and sisters and together we shall continue loving and shining of our Mother Earth. I am eighteen. I have much work yet to do and each day I celebrate and love our religion and our lives. We work together in spirit. Shannon"

Reverend Kathryn King - Roswell, New Mexico
United States

"I have been priveliged to be a part of the Pagan community here in Roswell during a time that Pagans have stood in numbers against persicution and discrimination of our faith. I have stood with pride in the presence of brave families and individuals who took this as an opportunity to show themselves as viable and active Pagans that demand that they be left in peace to live and worship alongside any other religion. Their support and courage gave me the strength to oversee some much needed changes in peoples perception of us. No longer is persecution allowed in our schools with no concequences by students or teachers. Publications and media has been willing to print the TRUTH about us and celebrate us as their coworkers neighbors and community members. These are groundbreaking efforts by people who may not see things quite out way but stood upon firm ground to honor our right to exist equally. Of course even in our own Pagan community there were those who denied us and chose to not support us all and even some that flatly treated us with disrespect. But those of course were few and by doing so were revealed for who they truly were. Please join in efforts to raise the veil of misunderstanding if only in an anonymous way so that the burning times will never come again. Blessed Be to my brothers and sisters out there everywhere...Reverend King"
