Loving Light for Our Ocean

I was born and raised in Florida. The beaches were always a part of my life, stretching back to the furthest reaches of my memory. I remember the way She would rock me, a deep soothing rhythm reaching back to the furthest and most primal feelings I can remember.

Safety. Security. Strength. Power. Comforting. She has the power to lull, to create and destroy, a very aspect of our loving Goddess. Something that should be nurtured and cared for.
I remember moments of beauty She can bring us; daybreak across the horizon in golds and reds and purples that I couldn't dream up if I wanted to. Dolphins playing along the shore. Manta Rays surfing along the crests of the waves as they swelled.

I was always deeply spiritual, in the right and wrong ways (and thanks to Lord and Lady now only the right ways) , but I always loved and respected Her. She calls to me on a deep level and I always feel compelled to answer Her timeless magicks.

She, indeed, is an ancient Mother of ours. Life first crawled from Her belly onto land. She feeds us. She provides us with the rains that blanket our land and give us nourishment. So when I heard about the massive BP oil spill, I was devastated. Before I knew about it, days before, I was just on a walk with my son. I was reaching to the Earth, and felt Her saddened. I sensed pain all around me, and it deeply upset me, and I didn't know why. I am sure that day, I cried walking home. My heart was breaking.

And when I saw the news, I knew. The hundreds of miles this spill has spread, and the devastation it has caused.

This is why I call upon everyone. I ask they lend Her a hand. I ask that they pray for Her. We could help her recover, slowly, if we all do our part. I feel if we cut down our fish intake, if not altogether eradicate it from our diets it will be better. I know if it would be too much to ask for some, but I know our ocean is suffering. I know this is an oil spill like none before.

I ask we pray for harmony in our oceans, for justice, for healing to help restore balance. I send my love to the Earth everyday. She deserves nothing less, as our eternal Mother.

If for once a day, 5 minutes a day, we can meditate on Her healing I am sure we can make a difference with the power of our belief, our faith, and our gratitude. With the intent of nature being restored, of lives of people being restored, it can help.

I feel like a bereft child. I feel there is not much I can do, but love and love more. To allow Her a moment to rest, to recover from such a blow. I know She can, if we give Her a moment of peace. Love Her with me, please. Send Her the healing light of our people, of our beliefs, and together we'll shine beautifully in thanks to all that She has done for us.

I thank our Lord and Lady, and thank Spirit that finally the oil spill has ceased. While they are working to their best efforts to clean up the waters, I know there are some things that cannot be repaired simply by removing every bit of oil. I am worried the fragile ecosystem of the entire Gulf has been shattered. Families, small fisheries, those dependent on the Gulf for Her fish are wounded, unable to make income to support their businesses and families.

I wish to pray for those families too, those who have needlessly suffered for such a monstrous accident of unnamed proportions. Those who are going without, who can't find work because of the economy, I pray for healing for them as well. I pray our Lord and Lady gather them into their arms, and ease their suffering and hardships.

I know thankfully there has been a compensation fund awarded to them, but if this is not enough to help them I pray that there can be a way. Have these people, these animals, these things in your heart and reflect not with sadness but with hope. Part of the issue is that for a long time BP claimed they were not responsible. I call upon justice, to bring them to their full responsibility, to make them live up and own up to the task of making things better, of repairing what they have wounded. Do not let them shy away from it, finding loopholes and short cuts out of what needs to be done.

We could easily lose some species that cannot be replaced. Only patience, and perseverance in the masses could see this through. Encourage friends, those you know who care to listen, to please pray for the ocean as well. Our Lord and Lady are wonderful, and they can heal this wound. May Their light guide us through, as in endless time it always has. This can be fixed. I know it in my heart; the Earth finally needs us to listen to Her needs. And I for one am going to try. Thank you my brothers and sisters for loving her as I do.

Love be with you, your families, and your friends.

Thank you for your time, for listening, and for helping.

Blessed Be.

Katharina Moonchild-
