So lately there have been many posts about �love spells� so it seems that with spring fever in the air people are seeking out that lasting relationship, the one who will make all their dreams come true and the one who will do the dance with them lifetime after lifetime.

Does such a person exist? In my personal experience� yes. This person does exist� however there may be many persons who would fit into that category. Other people with that �soul-link� who may not necessarily be that person we set out to find. Allow me to explain.

We all look to the universe and put out there that we would like to find our �soul mate� that one who understands us and who relates to us and just seems to flow with you no matter where your spirit roams. There could be many of them out there but you think you may find the �one� who will stay with you the rest of your life.

Here�s why I say there are many. Having been in two failed marriages and several other �whirlwind� relationships�I�ve seen the link between souls become sour after realizing that perhaps their path in this life isn�t the same as mine. Yes, you guessed it, we all have our own personal journey and therefore our soul-mate would also have their journey� as our spirits intertwine lifetime after lifetime each adventure resulted in our own history, our own path.

I believe that there will be many people I will �relate� to or even be a soul-sister/brother/friend with we can �know� that we may have been lovers in a previous life but as our journeys progress we may find in the next life we would be brothers or sisters or even mentors or friends. That is not to say the �love� isn�t there� not at all! The love is there but it takes a different seat to your journey this time around.

Throughout my journey I met a compelling man, he was charming, he was witty, he had the power and the energy to move me� he taught me a lot and it was a very connected lust affair, but in the end as much as he was sure he was linked to me, I realized that his spirit was very tainted� now this could have been just from his current life and in previous lives we may have been much closer, but as we allow our now experiences form our current thinking that the one who may have been a lover in a past life will now just be a brief moment in our current one.

Now don�t get me wrong, I believe that there is a soul-mate who will be the �one� as we call them. That one person who has done the dance with you in many lives as many different people and when they arrive in your current life they fill one void only to later fill the one you least expected.

That�s right, I found my soul-mate and it wasn�t from some spell I put out there with a wand and candles on a new moon with the wind blowing to the east to conjure him up from the water. No, I found him right under my nose several years after our friendship budded. After each �failed� relationship my �ideal list� became more practical, however, in a lot of ways it became more real. I wanted certain things such as �Have a similar/understanding belief system�.

Huh?! You mean I didn�t know he was the one?! When I met him I was in a relationship, and he was dating. I was working hard to make my marriage work, I was sure that there was just something that wasn�t going right and my �friend� was trying to help me find ways of fixing it� he was a shoulder to cry on and a wealth of support and caring (sometimes blunt) kicks in the behind to try to make things work.

He watched it all transpire; he shared energies with me when I felt I couldn�t keep going. I shared energies with him when his relationships were failing also. We were there for each other spiritually and mentally. I wrote poems for his wedding he called me when I was going through rough times. And together we watched and loved each other from afar.

After my separation I had the whirlwind lust relations with the aforementioned individual and upon returning to sanity my friend who was always there threw out a playful �I told you so� but also a knowing �I did that too� as we commiserated over the phone. After time away from all the chaos and disorder I felt I was rebuilding from I decided that a visit to this friend was in order. Just a friendly visit and time to spend just being friends.

I guess somewhere down the line he realized before I did that there was something more to us than just the friendship we had weathered for several years. His response to my suggestion to visit was �are you sure?� which hindsight being 20/20 indicated that he knew that we would have something more than just a friendship after that weekend.

Needless to say our souls past caught up with us� that first kiss sealed the deal and after nearly three years together our passion and enthusiasm for each other has never dwindled. Every day I hear �I love you� and the energy behind it is just as sweet and every day I look in his eyes and see that old soul� that old friend, and that spirit that fits like your favorite comfortable old shoe that no matter how beat up it looks and how much it�s walked through with you, you just can�t see your life without them.

That�s the spirit I want to dance with for this lifetime, perhaps if the next life sees fit� I�ll get that same wonderful relationship that is worth living another lifetime with all over again.
