“The appearance of things changes according to the emotions; and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and the beauty are really in ourselves.” – Kahlil Gibran
The Magick that we seek out in order to enhance our lives and to adapt our worldly concerns shifts constantly and is ultimately toned by exactly this same effect. It’s no oddity that you will often hear the complaint that no matter how hard the effort or the details in planning, a certain person cannot seem to reignite the splendor of a past event in life, to call forth the passionate flame of that first love, or to rekindle the Magick of some conjure ever in quite the same way ever again as they did the first time.
As time itself is nothing but an illusion allowing us to perceive our own motion in the reality of what we perceive as space, the sensation of our own potential for creation through thought, feeling, and what many of us refer to as “Magick” is and will be colored, it will be withheld, and then it will be expanded again by all of those emotions that reside at our core. This is a manifest truth to our existence that precedes any and all efforts at bringing them into being. This is why there are so many ways of believing, so many forms of faith, so many endless paths of following, and so many different schools of thought with regard to God, Gods, and of Magick, not to mention the endless ways we create the experiences of our lives.
While we believe that we hold a complete and conscious concept of all the manners of our waking life, in truth, we retain such an understanding though most of it resides underneath the many spirited layers of what we call consciousness. The answers are there, we just do not recall then in totality and yes, it was always meant to be this way! It all depends upon how we are projecting our spirit that makes for how we ultimately perceive and thus act upon creation unfolding before us. This is the reason that Magick works as it does just as for prayer, meditation, and acting upon our own conscience.
I’ve often wondered what it must have been like to have been present in the workshop of say, Leonardo da Vinci, or to engage the majesty in the likes of the Oracle of Delphi, to stand at the center of Stonehenge just as its construction was completed, and to hold deep discussions with many of the masters in the art of Magick and of the philosophy of creation.
In our conceptual world, it seems that throughout all forms of faith, and in virtually any and every way of believing, we are all especially now seeking a deeper and an absolute unbound understanding of what our progenitors were thinking, how they created what they did create, and to try and pave bold new roads into their understanding of the art of science, of belief, Magick, and the grand dimensional philosophy of existence thus enabling us to unravel creation and the secrets of the universe.
The continual and accelerated expansion of our consciousness has been gaining momentum at a Formula One pace in our past century. While we have always sought to gain the insight of a new and emerging age of understanding, now we also seek to gain and retain a deeper and more intimate understanding of the spark of genius that brought about all of humankinds greatest achievements including those most mystic of our qualities.
It has always seemed that, in some ways, it was the artists amongst us who, in their mindful travels, knew best the true power that our emotions could have upon our creations. Where they felt and lived in darkness, they expressed and created darkness. Where they felt and live in a state of elation, they expressed and created elation. Where they felt and lived in the presence of the Gods, they expressed and created of and by the Gods.
Theologians, religious adherents, journalists, and even social psychologists are noting that in today’s current age there is an unmistakable rising tide in the numbers of people who are seeking to touch upon their own colors of faith, to expand and adapt their beliefs, and to shift their own understandings of the philosophy that they are using as movers for their own paths of life. Many figures in authoritative positions throughout schemes of thought are calling such trends rebellious, breaking with tradition, and even “heretical” where that term might possibly apply.
In truth, what is currently unfolding is that right along with the advancement of our consciousness along the fabric of our lives, is that we are growing to understand our reality as a force that drives people to embrace the old along with expending all of the force of their lives seeking out and embracing the new. Right alongside with the birth of this, our third age of humankind, is the accompanying dawning of an intimate and deeper need to understand what the basis is for our spirit; what it is that creates the need to strive toward all of these new paths that we yearn to feel and express and to gaze upon the face of that ultimate force which created us and to get some answers to our pleas for understanding.
These are but a few of the reasons why now, in this modern and technological age that we are in, so many are re-embracing Magick and realigning to so many spiritual, religious, and artistic paths that serve their soul and their spirit. We are growing beyond the need or the will to draw illegitimate boundaries around our souls and our spirits, and thus, the fires that once held back such questions are no longer restrained and, quite probably, they never will be contained again by any authority or any force of the contempt of the spirit of human brilliance!
As the Psychologist Fritz Perles once said: “Once the doorway to awareness has been opened, it can never be closed again!” He was right. Thus it is with the way of the Craft, of the force of Magick forming the frontiers of personal creation. Nothing will ever stop it or stop you from becoming.
Love, light, and the brightest of blessings!
