Imagine a world without night, a world where it’s never cold, no Spring, no Autumn or Winter, only endless Summer. No one, and nothing is ugly. Everyone is drop-dead gorgeous, the scenery, the dwellings, everything, absolutely everything, is beautiful, perfect in appearance, and performance and ability. And everyone is…well, …nice. So. No crime, no argument, everyone loves everyone.
Now imagine the opposite, a world of unending night, ceaseless bitter cold, ugliness everywhere, in everything. Everyone out to get everyone else, hatred, violence, anger, the only emotions. Etc. Etc. Etc.
What if one of these worlds was the real world and you lived in that world? For obvious reasons, the second description would be considered unappealing by most, but the first sounds like heaven, right?
Can you think of anything more hideous than absolute and utter perfection, a world of Ken and Barbie, unleavened niceness, and sheer boredom? I can’t. (Shudder)
In the cold of winter, I long for the warmth of the summer’s sun. When summer reaches her middle age, I dream of the brisk chill of winter winds and snow…glorious, wonderful snow! I rejoice in the vagaries of the changing seasons, the diversity of people, places and things.
In this world, most people wear their own faces. They are beautiful, attractive, plain, homely, or ugly. And each and every face is magnificent in its difference! Unfortunately, plastic surgery has changed that somewhat; there are more Barbie/Ken faces than there use to be.
The downside is, of course, poverty, hunger, crime, and violence. Pain. However, I believe that without these things to struggle against, to triumph over, the human race would very soon cease to exist. Humankind needs challenges; we continually test our limits and go beyond them to unbelievable accomplishment.
If everything were easy, nothing would be worth having. If it weren’t for the bad, how could we appreciate the good? Face it, all you Beautiful People out there... if it weren’t for us ugly old Crones, you’d be just commonplace blah.
The Fine Art of Dancing
The skill to successfully navigating this diverse world of ours is the principles of Yin/Yang. As nature performs her balancing act, so must we. This is the Dance of life and death. Everything in nature participates, striving for the perfect balance in the Dance.
A few years with excellent weather and plenty of rainfall produces a surfeit of food, which, in turn produces an equal surfeit of young animals, more of these live to produce even more babies until the limits are reached. There is no longer enough food, living space, etc. Growth slows, stops and animals start dying. The weak and sick go first. Following years bring drought, scanty food, and even more animals begin dying off. Soon enough, there are just enough left for the available resources and balance is achieved. Admittedly, a painful balance, seemingly cruel, but is it?
Life and death go hand in hand, two sides of the same coin. For one to eat and live, another must sacrifice. This is true even of the plant world. A plant may not die when parts of it are consumed by a grazing animal, but it still sacrifices those parts of itself that are eaten for the good of another creature. And those devoured parts of it do die.
What most people don’t realize is death is not an ending. Death is but a doorway to another existence.
The Corporeal Dance
Birth=life=growth=death=consumption by other life=rebirth
A living organism is born. It experiences life, and growth. It dies and is consumed by other living organisms. The molecules from which the organism was created go to form and nourish new organisms, which in turn die and become nourishment for still more organisms. Nothing lost, nothing wasted.
The incorporeal Dance
An entity, (for convenience, call it a soul) is inserted into a physical body. It is born, experiences life, its lessons, trials, joys, agonies and traumas. It learns and grows, and in due time experiences the death of the physical body it inhabits.
Thru death, the soul leaves the physical plane and journeys to Summerland. Summerland has numerous names. The Other Side, Nirvana, Paradise, Heaven as well as many others. It is the place where the incorporeal entity rests and recuperates from the traumas and experiences of the previous lifetime, and integrates them into all it has ever experienced thru out its existence. Think of this as intermission.
When its recovery is complete, the entity is ready to decide what its needs are for its next life and chooses the circumstances that will meet those needs. Then the entity inserts itself once again into the chosen physical body and is reborn once more and so the Dance continues.
After the Dance
All things come to an End, even the Dance. For each soul there will come a time when it has learned all the lessons, the books are closed and school’s out forever. That bit of us that is God/dess has been refined so perfectly that it is ready to rejoin the One. What happens then?
We merge with God/dess, become God/dess. After that, who can say? As we limited humans cannot comprehend the One in its entirety, how can we comprehend what will be once we rejoin with God/dess? I can’t say, but I believe to the depths of my being that it will be wonderful!
Not all souls, once they have gained that perfection, chose to rejoin the All. Instead, they chose to teach. This is a very great and selfless sacrifice on the part of these entities. Just think! Instead of experiencing the joy of Return, They deliberately choose to return to the Earthly Planes and teach….US!
Being a Teacher is one of the hardest, most unrewarding jobs I can think of. Anyone who has ever taught will know what I’m talking about. People are stubborn, know it all, lazy, procrastinating, foolish, etc. etc., (I mean, of course, all the rest of you. I myself am perfect. LOL. BIGGG LOL. I have all these faults and more.)
These souls become our Spirit Guides. They come to us, to teach us the life lessons that we can’t or won’t learn any other way. Imagine the little cartoon devil and angel sitting on your shoulder, softly whispering advice into your ears. This is what it is like for the average person. This works moderately well... Usually... Sometimes...
There's an easier way, people... or rather a multitude of ways. In all paths, we can find ways to open our inner vision, to learn to hear the voices of our Spirit Helpers, to see the lessons they seek to teach us. Each one of us is a seeker of that path which is right for him/her.
You will know when you find it because it will feel like coming home
