Have you noticed that the economy seems to be worse than ever for a lot of people? I have and the stress that results from it�and how much harder it is for people to find a job now. This stress eats at you and drains your energy each time you fill out an application and do not receive a call. What makes it worse is when you do get a call for an interview� but that is as far as it goes. These are the very sorts of things that I have experienced for the past three months.

My dad had died in May of this year. I informed the human resource department at my job that I needed to transfer to my home state so I could help my mother. After that, they started cutting me on miles (I was a truck driver) . Worse, I was unable to get my license switched to the state I had to move to�so they laid me off.

That is the point when everything began to hit me emotionally and spiritually, to the point of giving up. And if you are stressed to the point of submission, your magick will be blocked. When your magick becomes blocked, you will not be able to do spells, incantations, etc. People can end up experiencing a crisis of faith, thinking the Gods have abandoned them in their time of need. Trust me, I have done spells and rituals upon spells and rituals to help me and my family members to find work.

Here are some tips on what helped me get through this very trying time: Remember to stop and find a quiet place in nature to go, without street lights, or porch lights, and just sit. Pick the time of day, weather, and time of year that feels right to you. Let it all just fade away, just for a moment. Let yourself open up to the earth, magick and the Gods. In your worry and frustration, you were cut off from the Gods and the world spiritually.

The Gods will not abandon us. We forget that as more stress builds up within us, it cuts us off from the magickal and spiritual world. Nothing gets in and nothing gets out. While you sit there in your special place, feel again the spiritual world, and then take the time to send a prayer to the Gods and ask for their guidance. If you sit ever so quietly still and listen hard enough, you will hear the Gods speaking to you. They will tell you, in many different ways, that it will all be all right and what you should do.

Always take what is given and build upon it until it becomes the something that you hoping for. (Without the work, there will not be any fruit.) When things seem to be their darkest, it will be up to you to seek the light and make it shine for you. Granted I know it�s hard to do with the way things are now. I�m still having it hard right now. You see, that�s why I�m trying to get out of it by doing something I feel may help someone else. I plan to begin school and try to build on what I have so I can to make it even better. It will be long and hard but I know, with my family and the Gods behind me, I will make it happen. Perhaps I will even help someone else along the way, which will be the icing on the cake for me!

We should stop and think about others who may have it harder than us and try to lend a hand, even if it is just via motivational writings or words. Perhaps if I knew that this has helped anyone, or if some of you are behind me and all those like me, it may be easier for me. I may never know but I like to believe it will. I think that it is time for the Pagan/Wiccan/Heathen community to come together and help one another. Only together will we be able to get our world back on track and provide our families with the life we want for them.

The next time you do a spell to help get a job try including everyone in the home, neighborhood, town, state, or even in the country. That alone would help more than you may think because someone else may also be doing the very same thing for you. I really wish that there were a place that specialized in helping the Pagan/Wiccan/Heathen community members in their times of need. Hopefully, when I graduate, there will be� because that�s one of the things that I want to do to help others.

Be sure to support your local Pagan/Heathen businesses or open a shop yourself and help your community that way. Try to help wherever you can. Get the kids involved so they know that it is better to help others than to think only of themselves.

There is a saying that I find helps me during particularly hard times: �Look to the Goddess for answers, for in her you shall find them, look to the God for strength, for in him you shall receive it.� Take the strength you receive and the answers you are given and use them as guidance for your next step.

I know I will get a job soon because I have renewed faith in the Gods. They are behind me all of the way. Send me an email and let me know if this helped you in any way.
