Someone recently passed away that anyone who ever attended the Lammas celebration at Mayfire Farm will remember. He was a very important part of every one of those August rituals. For the past 13 years he walked the circumference of the circles, greeting participants and making them feel welcome. He gave real meaning to the phrase "In perfect Love and perfect Trust", and was able to completely communicate those emotions to everyone he met. Each of us has a role to play in life, and the Goddess, in her infinite wisdom, knew what she was doing when she gave Dancer the form of a large beautiful black dog. He was very honored to bear the title of "Dog of the House", an important position which he held with responsibility and pride. Born during a Beltane ritual and bottle-fed by Janet Farrar a week later, he was truly a magikal being who touched the hearts of all who knew him. On February 10th, Dancer was buried at the feet of the statue of Diana in her sacred grove, as she smiled a welcome to her beloved hound. He's with her now and will run with her in the Summerland. He'll be sorely missed by all the Donohues and everyone else who loved him, but his spirit will still be with us at Lammas. If you're here then and feel a wet kiss on your hand, don't be surprised. It will just be a wonderful, wonderful friend continuing to welcome you to circle. Rest well, Dancer.
