| Easy Self-Healing Techniques for a Beginning Witch

When you’re new to The Craft it is easy to get overwhelmed by memorizing different herbs, oils, incenses, Holidays or Days of Celebration, and so on. So when you come down with a cold or have back pain you instantly think “Let me find a Spell for this!” Eager to practice your Craft, you look up a Spell only to find an elaborate Ritual or something that completely boggles your mind. “I give up!” you may think.
Think again! I am bringing to you a few basic, simple, and easy techniques for healing yourself. These are perfect for anyone new to the Craft, new to self-healing, or even to the seasoned Witch that is looking for a quick healing technique. All you need is visualization, meditation, and a little knowledge of your Chakras (specifically their color and position) and you’re set! That’s right: no herbs, incense, oils, candles, or Skyclad Rituals necessary. Best of all, this is something you can do on the go. When you’re at little Johnny’s basketball game you can heal your back. At your family get-together you can quietly ease your throbbing headache due to loud relatives.
While I have a few different techniques, the first step is the same for all. You simply need to view your Chakra Centers. Do any seem to shine brighter? Do any have dark spots? Take notice! When they are different like this, it means that there is an imbalance in your Chakra (s) . With a little fine-tuning you will be all patched up and ready to go in minutes!
At this point, I recommend that you go into a Meditation and concentrate on your Chakras. This is the time when you will see which Chakras have dark spots and which are brighter. You can choose to work with the 7 Major Chakras or work with additional Minor Chakras (like the Ear Chakras) .
The first method is to concentrate and work extra hard on the weak Chakra or “Vortex.” We see Chakras differently. While working with my students, I’ve been told students see them as Vortexes, wheels, a hurricane, a whirlpool, flowers, light bulbs, and so on. What you are going to do to “fix” these Chakras is to raise the vibrational level. If this is a bit too complicated or doesn’t seem to be working, add white light from the Universe to bring it into balance with your other Chakras. Sometimes, what I like to do after the white light session is envision the colored light of that specific Chakra going into the Chakra as well.
Method number two is a vacuum method. “You don’t expect me to put a vacuum nozzle up to my Chakras, do you?” one of my students asked me! No! Although it would be a funny sight! During the meditation, envision a swirling black ball (I picture it as a black ball of smoky-like Energy) at your feet. Think of black as negativity. All that dark matter is negativity and it’s acting as a magnet, pulling the negativity out of you. This magnetic vacuum pulls the dark spots on your Chakras out of your body through your feet. The ball will absorb this Energy. Once you have finished removing the dark spots, visualize this dark ball sinking into the ground.
Sometimes I receive better results with this (if I have a lot of Chakra imbalances for whatever reason) if I place Hematite at my feet (preferably magnetic) . It helps the magnetic affects. I also recommend visualizing the white light of the Universe going into your Chakras, as well, although it is not necessary. That is by personal preference, so play around and see what works for you.
But what if you’re coming down with some sort of illness? Yes… something bigger than the headache caused by a stressful traffic jam or an upset stomach because of the burrito you ate for dinner last night. Let me introduce you to my partner in crime… method three! When you first notice an illness setting in (a physical illness) you should use method two above. The difference is that after you eliminate all of the dark spots in your Chakras, you should open the Chakra Center that is closest to the illness. For example, when I get a sore throat, I open my Throat Chakra. Next, clean it out with the vacuum ball technique by taking that ball at your feet and moving it through your open Chakra Center. Feel it pulling out everything into the ball of Energy. You may, once again, find it beneficial to place magnetic Hematite hovering over your Chakra Center or stick it on your skin that is closest to the Chakra Center. You may also find it beneficial to stick white light in the Chakra from the Universe.
When it comes to a physical illness that I am trying to heal from, I like to call upon Archangel Raphael for assistance in Healing. So at the end of method three, I ask Archangel Raphael to put a shield of His Healing Green Light over the Chakra. Please note that this is just my personal preference and you may find calling on another Divine Being to be just as beneficial!
It is also important to note that it is harder to heal from a physical illness once it has manifested in your body. The further along it is, the harder it can be to cure. So be prepared to spend several sessions throughout the day with the vacuum ball if you want to hurry along your healing. As always, consult a doctor if your symptoms worsen. Just because you’re a Witch doesn’t mean you should stop seeing a doctor! Magick is great as a supplement to traditional medicine!
As another word of warning, if you are practicing this multiple times a day and begin to feel drained of Energy, take some time to relax and don’t continue the techniques until you feel your Energy return to normal. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and check to make sure you are grounding and centering yourself during meditation!
While these techniques haven’t made me get over the nasty flu immediately and don’t always make my headaches vanish completely, they do lessen the pain and help my healing go faster than what is considered “normal” for me. My students find these easy to work with and get great results!
I am beginning to use these techniques on others as well, although I would not advise trying this until you are able to do it successfully for yourself first. If you feel confident to use these techniques on others, I recommend calling in a God, Goddess, Angel, or other Divine Being to assist you, preferably one that specializes in Healing. For example, you could call upon Archangel Raphael (the healing Archangel) or even the God Horus (who not only has the all-seeing eye, but is a God of Healing, too) . Do your own research to see what feels best for you! You can also experiment with Crystals and Gems if you would like and even make these techniques more elaborate with candles, color Magick, incense, oils, etc.
What I have given you here is just the basics, which you can build upon. I’ve learned the basics of these basics (yes, it gets more basic, believe it or not) elsewhere and made them into my own which I have found more beneficial which I have passed on to you.
I hope that these help you heal yourself, my Witch friend! As one of my students said to me after learning these techniques, “Here’s to good health!”
