This is not a technical guide to sex magick but a guide to avoid being taken advantage of in the name of Sex Magick. First things first Sex Magick is a legitimate practice and is a powerful skill to learn in part with the Craft. What we need to keep in mind is that there are good and bad intentions inside any group of people covens included. The fact is the Goddess drives us but we are innately human and have urges that are given to very primal suggestions.

Sex Magick is most effective because of the primal energy that is created and released during an orgasm. The fact is that in a safe and nurtured environment the practice of Sex Magick is empowering to both parties involved. Lets also keep in mind we need to protect ourselves against any STD�s as this is a real danger and nothing in the divine is going to protect us from that.

I would like to touch on a few basic precautions to prevent being vulnerable to illegitimate Ritual Sex Magick. Before performing any Rites you should feel comfortable with your partner and have a history of Magickal knowledge associated with your relationship. Every step of the Rite should be discussed and preformed as a ritual. Try to be familiar with this person; of course a trusting friendship or a long-term relationship is beneficial to a powerful outcome. If you should choose to complete this rite with someone you are not certain about, you are leaving yourself open for emotional distress and possibly even physical harm. Just because someone tells you they know something amazing and would like to try it with you doesn�t mean you should. Use your inner voice to tell you that this situation isn�t Magickal at all, and then quickly remove yourself. Always empower yourself and make decisions that are based on your well-being, respecting your body, and inner light. This should always be your foremost goal.

Sex Magick is a rite that could be preformed by two people but not at all necessary. A solitary ritual can be performed to bring on the energy needed to release into a spell or ritual intent to enhance its power. There is still another way to perform this rite that I am not too fond of. In this type of Sex Rite the other partner, even if willing, may be unaware that the Rite is even taking place. Because of this, the rite may be contaminated with feelings from the unknowing partner that may influence the outcome of your intention. Still, with the releasing of the primal energy and as long as during the rite there is a great deal of respect brought to the act itself, when reaching that very moment the energy may be controlled and then released with intention. The rite may be successfully completed and attain a favorable outcome.

There are several forms of Magick all based in ritual and symbolism and this is the same with Sex Magick. Invoking a God and Goddess to perform this rite allows great power and control to what your needs are whether creating a spell, gaining strength of energy, or just incorporated into a Sabbat Ritual. The woman as the chalice and the man as the athame create symbolism that is full of earth bound energy. The balance of your presence in the physical plane is a twilight state with the astral during the increasing energy. During the orgasmic stage the release of this intense primal energy into the astral plane allows a great deal of energy that is uncontained and volatile as well as unpredictable. Trying to keep in mind exactly what your intentions are during this most sensuous act is difficult to say the least. A great deal of meditation can be helpful to keep your mind on the ritual at hand and to perform certain aspects of the rituals, but the point of it all is to lose yourself in that very moment. This is essential in the creation of a mass of powerful energy and to also enter the astral plane. During that very moment is the exact time you need to fill this energy with all your intentions then push the energy with the guided assistance of the invoked Goddess and God as well as the elements you have called to you. The rite being preformed should then be completed fully and the deities released as well as the elements.

This energy can also be filled with negativity if brought on with poor intentions and the release of negativity can be harmful. A struggle or action that is coerced in the name of Sex Magick is apparently negative and will cause a great deal of anguish for the partner that has been brought to this moment reluctantly in uncertainty and especially if by force. This is not easily cleansed away and may adversely affect many aspects of this person�s life.

This rite is not as easy as just having sex; there is a great deal of discipline involved. The task is to be able to let yourself fall away enough, then at that perfect moment try to embody the energy to be released into a spell or ritual and push it out to where it needs to go. It�s that very intention that is going to cause an effect that will allow for very powerful Magick to occur. I have found myself many times caught up in that moment and felt let down afterwards because I had let myself fall so deeply into the physical release that neither my partner nor I controlled the push of energy. This is really not to be seen though as some kind of 'failure' as the act of this rite alone is powerful and highly symbolic and contains an immense amount of Magick. Much good can come from the practice regardless of the ability to push the energy at that specific time.
