Magick Happens

When I saw this topic, there was not a doubt in my head that this was a topic I know a lot about. I'm not a professional writer, but this time I could sit hours just typing word after word.
But let's cut to the point. Magic has happened a lot, but one time I got help from above to cast a very powerful "spell", or prayer. It's sort of a long story, but then again it can be only a few words. Let's see where we end up.
My grandmother passed on a few years back, leaving my grandfater all alone. And when I say alone, I mean that literally. He and grandma lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere; in fact you have to go 15 minutes in a fast boat just to the nearest neighbours. But he and grandma have lived all their life on that farm, it was a place of many great memories. And of course, the rest of the family stopped by every now and then anyway, so he was not really alone over a long period of time.
I and some of my family stopped by one day, we were going to our cabin nearby. I wanted to stay with my grandfather, but one of my uncles had "been nice" and started up the fireplace in the cabin. To this day I don't know if it was to be nice, or to get rid of us. My grandfather didn't say anything when we went up to the cabin, but later discussions with my family revealed he had most likely wanted us to stay down there with him. I only now know why.
We came to the farm on a Friday, and left Sunday. Monday was a regular day, but Tuesday my sister, her boyfriend and their kid were to have dinner with me and my mom (my father had moved in with his ex-girlfriend). Everything seemed fine, until the phone rang. I suddenly felt a chill, and you guessed it. I was my father. Grandfather had been sick the night before, but tried to cover it. Then he just got more and more sick, so he was now in a hospital.
My father came to pick me and my sister up (her boyfriend can't stand hospitals, and who can blame him ?) It was a one hour drive, and the second we stopped the car, my father's cell phone rang.
Grandfather had passed on. We missed him with only minutes, and even today I keep thinking "what if we had gone ten minutes earlier ?" I know it's impossible to think that, but still.
So where am I going with this story ? Good question. The actually point are a few days ahead, to the funeral. Actually the night before the funeral.
It was raining the entire day before the funeral, but I didn't really care. Not that day. However, the night just before I went to bed, I said out a prayer to the Goddess for the first time in months. I don't know why, but I asked for a sunny day. I just thought if I was going to feel miserable anyway, why not have some sunshine ? And after all, it was grandpa's last day on earth. Why not go with a sunny day ? So there it was. We did have to drive for about three hours to the church, and I asked Her if she could make the sun shine at least from we got out of the car, and until we got back into the car. I don't know if it was too much to ask for, but that wasn't what I was thinking about anyway.
The entire night was filled with rain, rain and more rain. The last thing I heard before I fall asleep, rain. The first thing I heard when I woke up, was...a bit rain. It rained until we had been driven about one hour, then stopped like a flick of a switch. It was weird, it just stopped. The sun came up, and was shining for a long time. The entire day was pretty great (well, as great as it could under those circumstances at least !) And get this. After the seremony and the following "party", we said good bye, got into the car, started the engine, started to drive, and...it rained. We hadn't been driving for one minute before the rain started again, and it rained when I went to bed that night.
It rained the entire night before, stopped when we was driving to the funeral, and started again the minute we got into the car on the way back. And rememeber what I prayed for ? I prayed for the funeral to be sunny. Not the day, just the funeral.
Of course it could just be a coincidence, it could have been a natural phenomenon. I would even go as far as saying I had nothing to do with it. But then again, what if I did ? After all, isn't religion just what you believe in ? There is no proof a God or Godess exists, there isn't even proof magic exists. But then, there isn't any proof all this doesn't exist, is there ? I asked for the sun to shine on the funeral, and even said I didn't mind if it started to rain when we got into the car on the way home. And it all happened, just the way I asked for. Magic or not, that's up to yourself to decide.
Oh, and magic doesn't really exist at all. Why? Because "magic" is throwing fireballs at dragons, casting a spell so you can fly, that stuff. However, "magick" does exist, and is sort of what I'm talking about in this essay. The difference is that "k" at the end. You might think one letter doesn't matter, but it does. It's like that old story where a guy is waiting to be executed, and a letter from the governor shows up reading "Kill him, don't wait for me to arrive." It might seem like a typo, but it should read "Kill him not, wait for me to arrive." The result is the guy are executed, but when the governor shows up he say the guy was innocent. But this wasn't going to be an essay on what magick is, so I guess we'll call it a day.
Blessed be !

ABOUT...

Location: , USA
Bio: I am 23, male and live in a bit north of the middle of Norway. My spiritual journey started somewhere in my early childhood, and have studied a lot of religions to some point to find out where I belong. Some years ago I almost found a match, it's called Wicca. But it didn't fit entirely, until I learned you can be both a Wiccan and a Witch. Now the religion(s) finally fits like a glove, and I'm happy as ever as a Wiccan Witch.
