Pagan Clergy

Rev. Terrie Brookins

Located in: Oshawa, Ontario

Clergy Profile: Terrie Brookins is a leader in her local Pagan community, a graphic designer, singer, writer, djembe drummer, and a New Orleans native.

Terrie began her Path work at Imbolc in 2004. With a long time interest and curiosity about alternative beliefs and the occult, she finally embraced Deity in the form that was truest to her. In her early readings, she searched many paths to find one that spoke to her. From voodoo to Buddhism, she searched. She found that the Wiccan core beliefs rang true to her soul. After participating in smaller circles and covens, she found that just being a witch was not enough. She searched for a specific path that would help her understand not only herself but also others and the Universe around her. She became ordained with the ULC Monastery. After two years, she left the groups behind in her search. She spent a year in solitary practice and meditation - still searching.

Using her graphic design and writing skills, singing voice and love of drumming, Terrie volunteered in various pagan events in her community. She designed and printed flyers websites and programs for local events. She lent her voice to sing both in ritual and in camaraderie with others. From 2007 to present, she participated in some way in local Pagan Pride activities as either a vendor or a volunteer. In 2008, she offered a series of free Tarot card readings to the public to hone her skills and introduce herself to the community at large. She founded a local drum circle and facilitated teachings in it from 2009 to 2012. Her New Orleans upbringing and experience in social events made hosting coffee and pub moots an easy transition for her. In 2010, she volunteered to host and facilitate a local Samhain dance. In 2013, it will enjoy its third alcohol free family friendly year. From 2010 to present, she has coordinated with other established groups in the community to host and facilitate events and public rituals so that the members would be able to support each other in worship. In 2013, she facilitated a series of monthly workshops for her community calling in members of many different paths to teach their ways.

In 2008, Terrie discovered Witchschool and the Correllian Path. The self-directed courses proved to be a challenge to her as she balanced a full time job, familial obligations and duties, volunteer commitments, self-care, illness and personal tragedy. Terrie found a wealth of knowledge in the courses offered that proved irresistible. She finally felt at home. In 2010, after much self-deliberation, she took and passed courses that interested her. It was then Terrie saw her true potential. As she had led the community as a member in the past, she could be a minister to her community in the future.

She completed the First Degree in 2012 and accepted into the Corellian Clergy in 2013. In she was accepted into the Clergy Support Memorial Church and was made a Lay Chaplain.

In 2015, she returned to her roots. She became ordained again through the ULC Monastery and began larger work with music and energy.
