Pagan Clergy

Rev. Omi
 [A WitchVox Sponsor]

Located in: Cajones, Mexico
Clergy Profile: I earned my clerical credentials as Pagan Clergy or initiations with ATC English tradition, Asatru, Druidism, Gardnerism, Sun Bear Water Pourer, and Shamanism. To meet federal guidelines to enable me to offer prison ministries in Florida and Arizona; I faced many certification challenges. I was Founding HPS of The Church of Iron Oak and a member of Coven of Phoenix Rising for many years in Florida. Lord Jacobus, (passed into the Summerland Nov. 2012) received his training and initiation in 1957 founded coven of Phoenix Rising. I now reside in Central Mexico as Presiding Elder of Summerland Monastery, CAW, where I am a chronic volunteer for socioeconomically marginalized and/or disabled Mexicans. My mundane title is doctor of education - I am a social scientist.
My time living the Neopaganism life is considerable: 50 years. In 1963, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paganism*) , I began the practice of Neopaganism. That was when I joined The Champaign-Urbana Unitarian Universalist Church. I was 16 years old, married, and already the mother of one child (the results of a rape at age 15. Why I do women's empowerment workshops) . I was teaching UU lessons in Sunday School and camping programs for years in Oak Park, Illinois, at Unity Temple (Frank Lloyd Wright's first public building) .
From 1979 to 1992, I studied Buddhism under Joshu Sasaki Roshi and Mary Farcus at the First Zen Institute of America in NYC (and Mt. Baldy Center in CA) . Mary Farcus died in May 1992; I began teaching Wicca publicly in June 1992. Joshu Sasaki Roshi is 105 and still teaching. Many consider him second only to Gandhi as a modern Pagan spiritual teacher/leader.
*Neopaganism in the United States accounts for roughly a third of all contemporary Pagans worldwide, and for some 0.2% of US population, figuring as the sixth largest non-Christian denomination in the US, after Judaism (1.4%) , Islam (0.6%) , Buddhism (0.5%) , Hinduism (0.3%) and Unitarian Universalism (0.3%) .
Mundanely I am a social scientist. I have a PhD in Sociocultural Studies and Bilingual Education, an Eds in Special Education, a MS in Business Systems Management, a BS in Finance, and a BA in Divinity - a professional student who simply loves research.
I wish to share what I have been given by my teachers.
BB, Omi
