Clergy Profile: From alternative weddings to setting your own traditions, ritual work and ceremonies are an important aspect of life. Yet even within a single religion there are many paths and ways of understanding, and our ceremonies ought to reflect that. There is no longer any reason for a 'conveyor belt wedding' for example (however, legal issues must be thoroughly researched to avoid disappointment in this area; please contact me if you need more guidance) . But while anyone can write their own spiritual ceremony, the process can be daunting without experience.The books available on the subject may help, but the ceremonies they provide may still not feel personal enough.
I am an initiated Pagan celebrant with an extensive understanding of a wide range of spiritual traditions, specialising in the Craft and Earth Traditions. I work in a multifaith framework, without prejudice to age, race, religion, sexual orientation etc. I am able to provide preparatory guidance and consultancy, ceremony writing and leading in order to give the most most meaningful rite for you. This includes helping you write your own celebration if necessary, although I am very happy to write it for you, while keeping within your stated parameters; these will be ascertained during your initial consultation.
Note: While I plan to lead and organise all types of ceremony, large and small, in the future, do not feel let down if I am only able to offer you consultancy and writing at this stage. I am still in the process of final training for certain events e.g. large handfastings, baby namings and funerals. In the meantime I can aid you in writing the ceremony you always wanted, helping you to find the perfect celebrant for your occasion, even if that turns out to be a good friend. With many ceremonies (excluding civil weddings and formal initiations) there is no need for a 'trained' celebrant or ritual leader, so it really is a matter of personal choice. I am, however, available as a celebrant for many occasions including more intimate handfastings, self-dedications, personal seasonal celebrations and more.
Rates: All initial consultations are free. While preparing a ritual or ceremony, I only charge for actual time taken to research and compile it, usually less than four hours. My standard fee is Ł18 per hour. For celebrancy travel expenses may be included.
