When we finally got to buy our first house, we deliberately looked for something with a small amount of acreage, because during our many years in and near cities we had never lived near any place where Pagan or Neopagan people could go to worship (or even just to meditate in the open air) and be undisturbed.
Now that we have our home, and with that in mind, we have been slowly improving the back acres here for ritual and festival uses by any of our neighboring Urban Pagans, beginning with the first project of a stone-lined fire pit and the Fire Circle it is at the center of. I don't use the word "Wiccan" personally, and haven't done so for many years, largely due to the war of words over who gets to claim it. The arguments from both sides have convinced me that I clearly do not fall into either camp. Nowadays, at least until my writings finally manage to get somewhere, I simply use the term: "Panentheist Neopagan eclectic seeker."
I performed my first legal wedding at the Full Moon of October 2007, and have been called in by St. Mary's Hospital (our local Catholic hospital) because they had a patient who asked for a "Wiccan Priest" (I had promised the hospital that if I couldn't find one, I would come in myself) . I guess my Solitary path is becoming more oriented to ministering to the greater Pagan community -- or so I am coming to suspect, anyway.
I am a member of the Maine Pagan Clergy Association, hold LORC Recognition from the Association, and am currently a member of the Board.
The Groves are open to all Pagan, Neopagan, and Paleopagan worshipers. Until expenses begin to climb, using the Groves for a Pagan event will continue to be free of charge. Individual visitors when no event is taking place are always free of charge. Donations of building materials, cash, or other things on the Wish List page of the website for the Groves are gladly accepted.
