Clergy Profile: I am Battakes of the Maetreum of Cybele, a lifelong pagan (45+ years practicing) and registered clergy in Ohio and New York. The Maetreum of Cybele is a reclaiming group following the ancient Cybeline path that traces it's roots back to Catal Huyak in ancient Anatolia and was widely practiced throughout the ancient world by the Greek-Roman period.
Today we have an established Phrygianum in the Catskills of upstate New York on about three acres of land complete with an old Catskills Mountian resort inn as our group home and outdoor Temple/Grove. Our home is incorporated as a non-profit religious organization and we are dedicated to charitable outreach as part of our spiritual practice.
